The Dane County Sheriff’s office is assisting the Madison Police Department for a report of a school shooter at Madison Abundant Life Christian School at 4901 East Buckeye Road, DCSO said around 11 a.m. Monday.

Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes reported there were five deaths, including one child. Police said that a suspect, who is a student at the school, is dead. Five people were also injured. Authorities are still completing secondary searches of buildings and vehicles. He added that law enforcement did not fire their weapons.

Here is a snippet about the school from their website (currently cannot open their site.
“A community Christian school with the vision of providing academic excellence in a Christ-centered environment…”

It’s a small Christian school on the East side of Madison, WI. As far as I know, there have been no public threats or incidents in the past. The only thing I can think of was the student with a gun at a Mt Horeb middle school earlier this year. This was about 30 mins away.

man I hate to read that we've had yet another school shooting. This was never something we or our parents thought about when I was a child. It just wasn't a worry back in the 60s and 70s. In many ways I think it is harder to be a kid nowadays. screen time, social media, threats like school shootings. Praying for all involved.
