Missing Person Information
NAME (last, first, MI): Bates, Michael "Mike"
GENDER: Male RACE: White AGE: 70
HEIGHT: 5'7" WEIGHT: 225 lbs.
HAIR COLOR: Full head of hair, cut short, gray. HAIR STYLE: EYE COLOR: Blue
LAST SEEN WEARING: Blue jeans, black and red lightweight spring jacket, black and white ball cap, also wearing eyeglasses.
DATE AND TIME LAST SEEN: 9 am 6/19/18
LOCATION LAST SEEN: Tomah VA complex
MISSING FROM: Tomah, Monroe Co., WI
DESCRIPTION OF EVENTS:
Mr. Bates was last seen at the Tomah VA campus, where he resides. He left on foot, destination unknown. He has gone missing previously and on that occasion was found at a nearby casino. He may be trying to reach a cemetery near Cashton, WI (Pine Hollow). He also has property in Cataract, WI, which is located near Little Falls in Monroe Co.
Mr. Bates left via building 407 at 9:11 am 6/19/18. He then traveled via cab to the Amtrak station in Tomah. Law enforcement does not believe at this time that he actually took a train or a bus. This alert is being issued statewide due to law enforcement's belief that Mr. Bates may be hitchhiking.
