I’d never heard of LuAnn Irby until two hours ago. Attending a BBQ down the block, I met old friends of my mothers and as means of introduction, a woman asked about me and my family and mentioning my brother’s (okay, half brother) fathers name, this lady said, “oh, he dated LuAnn Irby back in high school. She went missing and was never found.” My attention was immediately rapt. Now I’m googling all I can and joined this site because, wow. I am a native of, and current resident of, International Falls, MN. Where Luann Kirby was from and her parents resided. This woman was friends with LuAnn and knew about her biker boyfriend and getting caught up in a bad crowd. I’d love to know if the Jane Doe discussed so much in this thread earlier this year, was ever fully solved and name disclosed. I’m guessing theories led away from it being Irby, after it was certain to not be Zunker. The bit about the “woman missing from Illinois” is interesting because Irby was from MN, yes, and relocated to Wisc Dells just days before, but her friend from the time says LuAnn was “constantly on the move.” It was a pretty wild time for young woman experiencing life in their twenties beyond just being a young newlywed mother/homemaker, women like Irby were living unlike any other decade of females and that liberation came at a cost for Irby. But my point is, she could have been in Illinois previously.
