GUILTY WI - Reena Williams, 3, Town of Swiss, 14 Aug 2012

  • #261
Yep, knew it. I'm just sick

I think the dog was in the water by her when the S&R began entering the water to search for her. IIRC, her body was found near the boat launch on their property.

I agree, the dog knew....so sad

Is this the right address for this family?

29995 3rd Ave S
Danbury, WI 54830-9712

When I look at the county assessor site, it shows this is owned by:
FLAMBEAU HYDRO LLC
PO BOX 167
NESHKORO WI 54960

No co-owners listed.

I am trying to map Reena's house to either of the neighbors quoted in msm that said they saw Reena wondering, as well as to the park mentioned and the fishing canal where the fisherman was.

The neighbors are:
Vince Lapre
"Lapre saw Williams wandering barefoot across the street in the park with her dog on Tuesday afternoon, the day she was reported missing.

"That wasn't the first time that she's been seen wandering around," he said. "Over the last several weeks I've seen here a couple different times."

Lapre's neighbor, who was too shaken up to comment, brought Williams back home around 5 o'clock only for her to wander off again."

Diana Naylor
"Naylor says she and another neighbor found Williams wondering barefoot Tuesday evening about a mile from her house around 5:30.

"We were so worried and we told the little girl never to do that again," said Naylor. She said the neighbor brought her back home only for her to wander off again."

Prelim autopsy report shows this precious little one died of accidental drowning. No manner of death is yet declared and afaik won't be until the final report is issued.

Until the death investigation is complete, we won't know what charges will be brought (if any) and at what level (neglect/manslaughter/homicide...or none).

Meantime, Reena's death serves as a wake-call at least. I hope this terrible outcome of a child left to "wander" on her own at the tender age of 3 has awakened in some the need to protect our young by really the simplest of measures, starting with attentive supervision. This is the testament to life she leaves behind...

On the attached map - it looks like Reena's house is down at the bottom where I made the blue house shape. The Lapre's house is the blue rectangle across from P (I think that is the park - it is owned by the Township of Swiss).

ETA: Actually if you follow the road up from where I have her house marked - and go over the little bridge that crosses the canal, I think the house is right about there. I think the news reported she was last seen near 29995 3rd AVE S so as not to disclose the actual address. However when I look on whitepages.com the mother is listed at that same address which is the hydro dam.

I mapped it on bing. Yes, Lapre's house is very near the ballpark. Naylor's residence is way out on Hwy 35 and I doubt Reena was out that far, but think Naylor may have been at the ballpark or somewhere in town either visiting or shopping and noticed her.

If the map doesn't load right away and only swirls....hit the refresh and it comes right up.

I think it might be that they put the updated info in the beginning of the article, and the rest of the article was what was published previously (old news). I've seen that happen rather often. Just a guess.

Nope.....still investigating.

The sheriff there's nothing to indicate foul play but says part of the investigation will be to find out "who was watching her" and "why was she walking around alone before she went missing."

Yep, there's a difference between "no foul play" and a case of parental neglect, should one develop.

Some good info in this article:

http://www.kare11.com/news/article/...ion-continues-in-death-of-3-year-old-Wis-girl

A few quotes from the article:

Roland and his investigators are in the middle of the arduous task of going over every inch of the property where the girl was found dead.

"All options are on the table. We will look where the investigation leads us for any kind of charges that maybe filed," said Sheriff Roland.

So far it's still being treated as tragic accident, but he calls it an open investigation. They're using three-dimensional mapping to assist in their efforts. . . .

"That wasn't the first time that she's been seen wandering around," he said. "Over the last several weeks I've seen here a couple different times." . . .

Darrell Young was fishing in the canal Tuesday afternoon and says he urged Williams' mother Jenna Danish to call the sheriff's department after she came to him worried about her daughter.

But he says she wouldn't make the call, so he did. . . .

For those of you who questioned the "shopping". At 1:47 in the video link above you can see the packs of cigarettes in Mom's hand.

The fisherman's statement was interesting. Why would Mom be hesitant or scared to call police? Makes me wonder if there has been CPS action in the home?

I'm still curious about that open court case, wonder what it's about?

If I am reading this right, it looks like the Mom filed a motion for a protective order against someone (TE) and as of 08/13/2012 it says: Jury demand

She was sleeping when the child went missing. She was at the store when the child was found.

I haven't heard or read anything about a nanny, so who knows if that's fact or rumor.

I found a phone listing for a very young woman (18+) at the same addy.
Speculating it might have been a troubled relative living with them exchanging nanny duties for their keep. But...?

New details in disappearance and death of 3-year-old

Investigators say the girl's father was the last one to see her. He said she was playing outside, and he yelled out a window for her to get away from the water. Sometime after that, he couldn't find her and asked a nearby fisherman if he had seen the girl.

When the angler suggested that police should be called, the father allegedly said, "We don't need any cops," and walked away. The fisherman then notified authorities, prompting the search.

Hundreds of volunteers joined in that search. On Thursday, WQOW News 18 learned the girl's parents did not take part. Instead, they were at the nearby casino...

There was also a delay on Wednesday in announcing the girl's death because the sheriff's department couldn't locate Reena's mother to notify her. Sheriff Roland says she was in Siren shopping for shoes and a cell phone.

I have no words. This is so disturbing and it makes me very sad. My prayers are with little Reena. God love and bless her.
