GUILTY WI - Reena Williams, 3, Town of Swiss, 14 Aug 2012

Goodness, mine were even allowed to play alone in the fenced in back yard until they were 6! I didn't trust them. Not that they were bad, but kids get distracted and follow what interests them at the moment.

That poor little girl. She was so beautiful.

Dad is Tom Bratley. Renna's uncle Jason B posted a message on his FB wall saying to hold your kids close because you just never know.

Also looks like her name is Renna not Reena. Mom is Jenna. Daughter was Renna.

ETA: I should say I do not know if he for sure has the same last name as his brother and sister but I think so.

Thank you.

I see on Tom's sister's fb a msg of condolence from a friend (apparently a cousin).

I found the sister in Photo comments at Jenna's fb.

But who is Williams (the child's surname)?

I suppose we will find-out in time.

RIP Little One

I don't get it because her family is spelling her name RENNA. It was first reported Renna and then this:

"Danish also said her daughter's name is Reena and not Renna as was previously reported by law enforcement officials."

ETA: Mom spells it Reena on FB. But uncle J spells it Renna.

I think I found Williams. He is a stepson to Jason's father (but does not apparently have a facebook account himself).

So Tom Williams is Reena's dad, not Tom Bratley? Thanks. I was thinking possibly a half or step brother to the Bratley's.

That's what I'm speculating, based on views of Bratleys from April's fb then finding a Tom Wms listed as a stepson on Jason's father's fb.

I also re-ran pipl and zabasearch and found him listed as well, with middle name Jay (or initial J), age 42.

The good news is that it appears Jenna and Tom have a large extended family who will be able to render comfort and support during these trying times and beyond.

I haven't seen anyone blaming mom. She was asleep. It is dad that saw her last, and was in charge of supervising her.

I don't know if I would call it blame, exactly, but the finger pointing started way back on about the 2nd or 3rd page. The awful thing is, I agree... nobody seemed to be watching this little girl, and that is sad. I can't imagine if she has a history of wandering off and being found and returned by neighbors, why they didn't watch her more closely, or put a leash on her.
My son wandered off when he was barely 3 and to this day we don't know if the dog followed him or he followed the dog, but they were found together, scared but okay. I learned my lesson... I never let him out of my sight for one second after that. Mine had a habit of walking over to his grandpa's next door, but that day he didn't. The point is, kids can disappear in the blink of an eye. Maybe they cautioned her not to leave the yard and she said okay, and then she followed the dog and just kept going. Who knows?

This timeline does not make sense to me:

5:30 PM Child is returned by neighbor after walking a mile away. (?Who did neighbor return child to? Mom or Dad?)

Mom is asleep when child goes missing, but Mom has said she went outside to call the child and the dog came up from the river. What time was that?

Dad went inside to get a drink and an hour and a half later reports her missing? that would mean he went inside to get a drink when the neighbor brought her back. When did Mom wake up and go call her?

7 PM Fisherman is approached by someone (Mom? Dad? or Both?) who asks if he/she has seen the child. The FISHERMAN calls 911 to report the child missing!

This timeline means the child is returned at 5:30, Dad goes inside to get a drink and never sees child again. It sounds like Mom is the one who realized child was missing, but she was supposedly asleep when she went missing. I am sorry, I smell a rat and I usually don't smell very well!

TRUE. All true. But the little girl went missing three times that day alone.

Like you said, your boy went missing ONCE, and you corrected the problem. Mine snuck out once too, and so I moved the indoor latch up higher and moved the entry way table further from the door so he couldnt step up on it to turn the lock.

But she was just returned to them from a mile long hike she had just taken. At that point she should have been taken into the house, not allowed to be alone outside with the dog while dad went for a drink inside. JMO

I think she ran to the store to get cigarettes. She was holding two packs in her hand when she was interviewed after Reena was found.

Well, that makes a little more sense.

Whoa, what? Who goes shopping while their little girl is missing? I would be in a freaking heap on the floor, not browsing the aisles.

The "shopping" options in Danbury are quite limited. There is a grocery store, a gas station, and a couple mom/pop knick nack stores.

I would bet that it was to get smokes.

Anyone with scanner experience that can do a rewind ...can you please answer a question I ask on that thread. TY Just wanted to bring the question here, because there is no one there, understandably.

Preliminary autopsy results point to accidental drowning:

http://kstp.com/news/stories/S2730562.shtml?cat=1

Interesting tidbit: "Sheriff Dean Roland tells KSTP, Renna's mother was shopping when the little girl's body was found."

Is it just me or does the Sheriff sound like he is suspicious? He was more upset yesterday during the pressor, than JD when she spoke on camera.
