What a tragedy. So sad. I will be thinking of her family, who I am sure are suffering mightily right about now.

Just seeing interview with mother. Sorry, but something is off. She doesn't seem upset, just very matter of fact. Thought something was off when I saw her on TV earlier today too.

Is "Nanny" the grandma? I'm Nanny to my grandson.

I didn't take it that way because they said "the" nanny.. vs. "her" nanny. I think it was the "babysitter"...so very sad.

One thing confuses me tho. Earlier in the thread it talks about their house being the only one on the island, but later talks about neighbors finding Reena wandering around. I wonder how far she wandered twice that day. It would seem it had to be pretty far if their house was the only one on the island/penninsula? KWIM?

I think somebody asked if there were campgrounds around.

The answer is yes. It is a very popular camping destination county.

Here is a map

Was the babysitter/nanny only watching one child? How could a 3 yr old go missing three times in one day ?

I don't want to judge the victims---I know they are devastated. And I know that kids get away from you, even if you are watching them. I think we have all 'lost' track of a child , and/or found one of our kids in a dangerous situation with a pool or a tub or a kitchen knife. Or at the Lost and Found in a public place. It happens to everyone because kids are little Houdinis and very unpredictable. But hearing that she went missing THREE TIMES in that one fateful day---that is very frustrating to hear.

I am reading all the articles and am not seeing that a nanny was watching her. I found both parents were home and her Dad was last to see her.

Picture of her in this link..Prayers go out for this little one..

"Sheriff Roland was asked at the news conference about reports that the girl was seen wandering through the streets of Danbury prior to her disappearance. He said that is part of an ongoing investigation."

I was going by a quote upthread from nanny. But she did not say she was the one watching the poor sweet girl. She just said that the 3 yr old 'knew better' than to wander off.

I have a three-yr old granddaughter. Her Mother and Daddy don't go longer than 90 SECONDS without knowing where she is....her Father was the LAST one to see her 90 MINUTES before they realized she was missing. I too do not want to judge the victims, but that is neglect if I ever heard of it. Now this Father will have to live with this for the remainder of his life. Poor baby girl. This makes me so angry. Who was supposed to be watching this precious child?

If both the parents were home, and they only had one child with them, why did she go outside on her own to play? Sad, imo.

"She was last seen an hour or 90 minutes before she was reported missing, Burnett County Sheriff Dean Roland said Wednesday afternoon.

Officials issued an Amber Alert, and an FBI team responded to the scene, Roland said."

Interesting an amber alert was supposedly issued. Usually they cannot do that unless they have a description of a vehicle used in an abduction.

Thanks. I remember reading that now.

1.) I wonder where the nanny lives... does she live with the family?

2.) Is the long-sleeved purple shirt Reena was wearing when she went missing the same one she was wearing in the Missing Person photo in some of the news articles?

I am always circumspect when I see the item(s) of clothing are reported to be the very ones, coincidentally, as are shown in the missing persons pictures.

BBM

Could there have been an abduction, and a disposal of the body, as cause of death?

Just thinking out loud....

"Relatives say Renna's mother was inside sleeping when she went missing. The sheriff says her father was the last person to see her. Relatives say he had gone inside to get a drink."

Per the article above - "Reena's father was the last person to see her about 90 minutes before she went missing."

Worse yet, that 90 minutes as the last time seen matches up to the time the neighbors brought her back.

N says she and another neighbor found Williams wondering barefoot Tuesday evening about a mile from her house around 5:30.

So what the little girl comes back and she is let to run free again?

I'd read on a previous article that she was found a mile from her house on one occasion. Unbelievable!
Did the family feel because it was a small town she was safe and everyone would look out for her??
I'm having trouble wrapping my head around this case. What a waste of a precious life.
