GUILTY WI - Reena Williams, 3, Town of Swiss, 14 Aug 2012

It was obvious there were 'problems' when we learned that she had already 'gone missing' twice that very day. What parent, who had just been presented with their 3 yr old who had wandered off a mile away, all alone, just leaves that same child outside all alone AGAIN, so they can get a drink inside? That makes no sense.

As I said, I think we have all made mistakes, and allowed a child to get into a dangerous situation. But most parents then respond to that mistake by CHANGING the situation. If your child escapes through the front door then you change the locks to a higher position. You don't ignore it and allow your child to escape three times a day. :furious:

Yes. Things can happen when we turn our back for a couple of minutes...or due to ignorance...or some times people just aren't very swift. It appears that these parents just don't give a damn.

I get the feeling we're going to hear a lot more about these people than the fact that they didn't bother keeping an eye on Reena.

Who refuses to call for help when their 3 year old has been missing more than an hour?

Who goes and removes an album full of photos of their Daughter just hours after finding her deceased? Someone who's afraid of what people will find out about them, IMO. You know they have much more important things to deal with, but it seems they're most concerned with covering their 🤬🤬🤬.

I'm afraid of what the end result of the autopsy might show.

I am utterly flabberghasted!!! :thud:

Could the parents possibly be mentally deficient?

this is not at all a disrespectful nor sarcastic question.

But can the parents have such extreme low IQ's that they cannot understand the needs of a child... Or the effects of their Own actions?

Otherwise I don't think I have ever heard of such total lack of interest on the part of a parent!

even killers have more emotional investment than these two!!! :gasp:

She's prioritizing.

I'll be pizzed if we don't see some serious charges coming their way.

Ya, cuz that would be the first thing we would be concerned about at this point, right?!

IMO, we don't have to worry about charges being formed. Sheriff Roland has shown signs of incredulity and frustration in his pressors. They are not going to let this drop if it's within their legal right to do so. He took this very personally.

Okay...

I am still trying to determine a diagnostic reason for the behavior of these parents...

Is there a history of brain trauma resulting in injury to frontal cortex with effects mimicking frontal lobotomy?

again... This is not intended to be disrespectful or sarcastic at all..

I am still just incredulous!!

Maloney said the girl had water in her lungs consistent with normal signs of drowning. He said her body had a couple of little scratches but no trauma or anything suspicious.

Final autopsy results won't be available until four to six weeks, when the toxicology report comes back.

I think we just need to call this what it really is ... NEGLECT
There will be no other explanation for the loss of this beautiful child's life.

I really like this sheriff for his clarity and sense of humanity when speaking publicly. He was visibly saddened by the discovery of little Reena's body and I believe his voice cracked more than once during that presser.

With reference to the alleged shopping, Sheriff Roland kindly commented in an on-camera interview that he is not one to judge how people respond to grief.

The problem is, the child's body had not yet been found at that point in time. And although grief may be part of the array of responses to a missing child, superseding it would be doing all within one's capabilities to assist in the search.

Do you think they will run a tox on her?

I believe the outpouring of people at her funeral will be huge. Does anyone know if this is her only child? Thinking maybe the father(s) or others would have custody.

If the mother works nights, was it the nanny or the father who watched her?

I read they will run a tox and results could take weeks (4-6?). Do we know mom works nights or is that an assumption because she was napping?

I didn't know she worked for a casino. I must have missed that. Dad is Tom Williams, I believe.

The house is on the power company property, so he may work as the dam operator. I'm going to my cabin tonight so I may be able to find out more.

Reena is my cousin's daughter, which makes her my 2nd cousin. I have a few things to say and correct some errors. First, I do not agree with leaving any child alone. Now, I'm am going to clear a few things up. One, Reena was greatly loved and adored! My cousin and our family are having a very difficult time with this. Reena was and is Jenna's joy! Don't ever question that or the love my cousin has for her daughter. The dog was not theirs it belonged to the neighbors. Reenas father had to be dragged out of the canal once the police arrived! They would not allow family to search why? Not sure. The dog took Reena's father close to where she was ,and he was only a few steps away from finding her when they dragged him out of the canal. As, for them shopping when the autopsy was being done ... The police according to procedure didn't allow them to take a thing from their home not even bottled water. The casino where my cousin works is putting them up until they are allowed back into their home, so they had to buy new clean clothes and other personal items. She wasn't joy shopping! Did no one notice the bags under Jenna's eyes?
Now, my father was a well respected Chicago Police officer, so I am very well are aware of standard procedures which the fine officers in WI did and are doing.
How many of you work nights and have your partner watch your children so you can sleep? How many of you work more than one job and are parents? Do you trust your spouse to watch your children? Why not?!!! Jenna and Tom are very aware of what may or may not come down in the future. They also lost their baby girl who they loved deeply!!! This was Jenna's only daughter. They are very distraught over the loss of Reena. I hope this clears up some questions! Also, this is my cousin !!! I know her and her heart. I also, know this is not easy for her at all! Also, know the media is Not showing the whole story! Maybe, there are other parents who will learn from this tragic accident! Instead of making judgement on my cousin pray for her and Reena's father! They are the ones who must live with this on their hearts forever!!! Also, maybe people need to learn not to judge others those of you who are Christians should know this, and those of you who aren't should just not judge, because no one is perfect.
A few thoughts I'll leave you with... Have you ever walked away to answer the phone, do dishes, or run to the bathroom and you have children? Did they get into something you didn't expect them to? And again if your working strange hours should you not let your partner/spouse watch your child?
I do understand you all care for Reena and it amazes me how many people are fighting for a child they don't know, but that just means to me that you all value life! Please know Jenna is heart broken and still in shock.

Welcome to WS Danielle Sawb, I'm so very sorry it's under these circumstances that you've joined. First and foremost please accept my deepest condolences to your family on the loss of Reena. Everyone on this thread has a heart for this precious child and we can only go on what the media is putting out there. As with almost all cases the media doesn't always get it right. Thank you so much for setting the record straight. May your family find strength and comfort in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, may He make His face to shine upon Renna's family and bring them peace.
