Found Alive WI - Ryan Borgwardt, 45, Green Lake, 11 Aug 2024 *evidence that he faked his death and is alive in Eastern Europe*

Can’t it be both?
Of course, but IIRC, the point I was trying to make is why this is an investigation at the federal level. He might have been a bored husband, but that's not what makes this a potentially big crime.

I’m less inclined to think that because I’m not sure he had the skills to just plan his death and up and disappear… I do think he might have been maybe looking to “take a break/get away” and that perhaps opened him up to a catfishing scam, and he was instructed on how to run away… he was knowingly faking his death and leaving his family, BUT had help in the planning and execution and falling into being the victim of fraud… maybe … jmo

It's nice she wants him back ......
I personally wouldn't feel that I could fully trust him again, ever.
Too many steps taken to evade his own family.
He took serious actions , and the international angle would have me wondering if there was something else entirely happening-- something criminal at a gov't. level ?
Imo.

Bbm.
Agreed !
Omo.
She may want him back because it’s a struggle financially without him and/or she thinks he’s mentally ill and needs help.

Or wants to throttle him herself- jk-

I can imagine not wanting to believe the worst, hoping for some explanation, and that the co-parent to your children was still alive… moo

Yes but isn’t a married family man who is flirting with a stranger on the internet, and then who agrees to leave his family for this stranger, also a jerk? He is the one who was communicating with a cat fisher if that’s what happened here. He is the one who agreed to leave his whole family.

I’m not understanding how he can’t be an immoral, deadbeat victim of fraud. One can be a victim and a creep at the same time.

In fact, I like to watch the catfish videos on YouTube and many of the people who get caught up in those scams are selfish narcissists. They are normal people who think they’re entitled to a relationship with a super model who is 20 years younger than them, for example, instead of dating someone their own age, who is also, normal. Oh no. They think normal people their own age are beneath them.

Then there are people who are willing to steal from spouses, kids and parents to give to their fantasy girlfriend or boyfriend.

Oh he might be a jerk- I was saying he wasn’t the typical run of the mill I’m just going to disappear myself to escape the ho-hum mundane… not the run of the mill I ran away to get a new life.., I don’t think he could have planned it on his own… moo

As @Inthedetails stated up the thread..,

“This isn't just a case of some bored husband skipping out on his family like a jerk. imo”

That’s what I was responding to.., it’s not just a bored hubby skipping out and somehow it went viral …

If he was catfished and internationally defrauded, and he was in an unhappy union, that’s not the case of a random jerk bored husband.. imo

How hard is it to just file for divorce, pack up, and leave?

To his credit, he didn't kill off his family before he left.
Always our famous last words.......

Announcing a day in advance is a bit unusual, right? Wonder what will be announced? jmo

I'm wondering if they found him overseas and by tomorrow, he will be back in USA. Perhaps they are waiting for him to touch ground before making an official announcement.

Total guess on my part.

NOV 20, 2024
Chief Deputy Sheriff for Green Lake County Matthew Vande Kolk said the department would not be releasing any further updates prior to the 10:30 a.m. press conference Nov. 21.

"So we would call it a 'pseudocide,' where someone fakes their own death," said Marian University criminal psychology instructor Ryan Dronek.

Dronek said people may fake their deaths for many reasons.

"Traditionally, we see financial crimes, so insurance fraud is a reason...

That or maybe we found him and he refuses to come home. Oh I can think of a few other things but I’ll bite my lip. However I’m very excited to hear what’s going to be revealed lol.

Hmm Im thinking maybe if they didnt locate him, and i think they may have, this will be more release of details such as where he landed or other information to help narrow the search.
They've had control of this case from the start by keeping certain information out of the public so I am interested to see what would prompt a press conference.
