Haunting, that second-floor picture window...

On this whole question of the bras, underwear and ID found hidden in Anderson's basement, first, just a reminder that this is the city of Jeffrey Dahmer. LE learned painful lessons upon discovering that numerous men had died at Dahmer's hands in just a 13-month period of time, right under their noses. IMO, our LE was permanently changed for the better in the wake of that horror.

To my knowledge, it has yet to be established that those objects "belonged" to Anderson, as opposed to the previous owner/s of the duplex. It seems fair to guess that Anderson was investigated six ways to Sunday after his arrest, perhaps is still be investigated. In the end, the basement discoveries received very little MSM coverage.

It could look like Anderson has had previous victims, but I think the prosecution agreed that the basement items aren't relevant to this case, and that suggests to me they know more than we do, to deem them not helpful in getting Anderson convicted.

Personally, I think he fantasized about killing someone for a long time - and Sade Robinson, tragically, met his depraved needs - but he had utterly no plan for what comes after. Hence the chaotic mess of getting rid of her body. I think she was his first. JMO.

It's my fervent hope she will be his last.

Didn't the neighbor testify that he was always digging holes in the backyard? Please tell me they dug up that yard. Dug until they saw daylight out the other side.

You're correct about the digging; even the lower unit tenant testified about Anderson's bizarre idea to build an "underground" kennel for his two dogs. I expect we'll hear more about the investigation of his property, as alluded to in the prosecutor's opening statement, re: breaking up parts of the basement floor, accessing the sewer line, etc.

I'm thinking that "kennel" wasn't for dogs. I've seen way too many cases where men have built rooms to hold women they kidnapped for sex slaves. Timothy Haslett Jr. is one case that comes to mind. Negasi Zuberi is another.

It's looking to me as though the prosecution may not be presenting any evidence from the so-called confidential informant who claimed that Anderson told him some 30 days before Sade was killed that he had singled her out and was planning to kill her. I first heard mention of that last year in local media, linked below, but can't really be surprised if it turned out to be nothing real.

Nor does it seem we'll hear from either of the women who saw Anderson toss a lighter into Sade's car that rainy morning of April 2nd, 2024.

2:53 p.m.: Closing arguments are to start in seven minutes.

2:47 p.m.: The defense announces it will call no witnesses. Maxwell Anderson will not testify.

No defense proffered, none. "In the wrong place at the wrong time." What a joke. That was true only for Sade.

No mention of the photos of an inert, exposed Sade on his phone.

I think he's going to prison for the rest of his life. Tonight, that doesn't seem enough.

The closing arguments were not very strong on both sides IMO.

The state flubbed a lot of facts in their statememt and just gave a timeline with little emotion. I guess I understand it's not about emotion but a little more would have been more effective. The defense played off the circumstantial evidence as... coincidence.

That said I hope the jury sees this for what it is and finds him guilty. Having a 1.5 year exGF testify could have been a plus for him. For me I'm shocked she exists.

So glad he's found guilty. Life doesn't seem like a tough enough sentence, imo.

On Thursday, the case wrapped up its case and handed it over to the defense, but the defense called no witnesses. Anderson did not testify. After jury instructions and closing arguments, the jury of nine women and three men deliberated for about 20 minutes.

There are four charges the jury decided on: first-degree intentional homicide or first-degree reckless homicide, mutilating a corpse, arson and hiding a corpse. Live updates:

I thought the prosecutor’s closing argument was brilliant. It provided a clear timeline of what they think happened, and I felt he was passionate and effective in his delivery.

I don’t think Sade was drunk, and sadly I think he strangled or suffocated her and then dismembered her at his “secret beach.”

The digging around the house was so sus. The hole looked small, not big enough for a shelter of any sort. Straight up looked like a grave imo

Det. Donner is the GOAT. What great investigative work. The moment that made me sure of his guilt was the testimony of the cop who found his jacket that had Sade’s DNA on it in the neighbor’s trashcan.

WHAT. THERE WAS A KNIFE FOUND IN THE COURTROOM this week, according to a juror!?!?!?!?! And it "belonged to one of the janitors"???

Considering there is a partition between the public and the defendant/judge/attorneys, I highly doubt the knife came from the gallery but..... the janitor?

I'm hoping this guy was a serial killer who got caught on the first one, but that may not be the case.
