So the perp wasn't a local - a home grown guy.
I wonder why WMP chose to attack this temple in that town? :waitasec:

Where was he from?

MSM - Should be or think we know.

Here's Everything We Know About Temple Shooting Suspect Wade Michael Page

A couple bullet points but there's more at the link.

In 1994, Page was arrested for causing criminal damage to property between $20 and $200, according to BuzzFeed, which examined Texas court records. The crime, to which Page pleaded guilty, was a class B misdemeanor, BuzzFeed reported.

He was stationed at Ft. Bliss in Texas and at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina while originally being from Colorado. He was discharged from the Army for "patterns of misconduct," Reuters reported.

Page was never stationed overseas and in 1998 he was disciplined for being drunk on duty. That disciplinary action resulted in his rank being reduced from sergeant to specialist, according to Reuters. Page was not eligible to re-enlist, sources told Reuters.

The Southern Poverty Law Center, a group that has studied hate crimes for decades, reports that Page was "a frustrated neo-Nazi who had been the leader of a racist white-power band." They have a picture but we have not confirmed it. Here is End Apathy's MySpace page.

Wade's motive has not yet been identified. Sources told CBS News no links to extremist groups have been identified.

Another good look at Page's background, from USA Today, is here.
---
Heidi Beirich, director of the [Southern Poverty Law Center's] intelligence project, tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that her group had been tracking Page since 2000, when he tried to purchase goods from the National Alliance, a well-known hate group.

Given his history with white power hate groups, it seems possible he planned this with others.

True. But if he really was in the Army, then I think he would know the difference between turbans worn by the Sikhs and their Temple, as opposed to a mosque and Muslims. JMO

My Son is active duty Army, served in Iraq for over a year and I know for a fact he knows the difference between lots of different cultures. Whether or not he was taught this by the Army or something he picked up while over there I don't know. But, he knows the difference.

Just want to say how PROUD I am of our local LE. Hero's...all of them.

  • #367
Just got word that my husbands former co-workers' uncle is one of the victims. Heartbreaking.

Adding that Psyop is divided into battalions(groups) that are based on different regions of the world and are anchored by one tactical battalion. So he would have received additional education there.

Info on these racist symbols from The Anti-Defamation League.

Celtic cross:
This is one of the most popular symbols for neo-Nazis and white supremacists.http://www.adl.org/hate_symbols/racist_celtic_cross.asp

The number 14:
This numeral represents the phrase "14 words," the number of words in an expression that has become the battle cry and rallying slogan for the white supremacist movement: "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children." http://www.adl.org/hate_symbols/numbers_14words.asp

Oh no, how awful. I'll be sure to pray for the former co-worker and thier family. Just like Colorado and all the others...senseless crime, just horrible.

He is from Colorado, lived in Texas at some point during his military service, lived in North Carolina during his military service and then lived in Littleton, Colorado before he moved to Milwaukee two weeks ago.

ETA Correction: He lived in Littleton, CO, between 2000 and 2007. Not sure if he still lived in CO just before he moved to Milwaukee.

Here's a short clip of the POI in the staging area where Sikh temple members and other were waiting. He was using his phone to photograph Sikhs in the crowd. Tips can be called in at 800-CALLFBI.

Someone has to recognize that guy - he sticks out like a sore thumb.

Oh, and no long hair!

  • #375
But, what if he's just a guy? Is that possible/probable?

I thought of that. BUT, why would LE call him a POI? IMO, they think he may be linked to the shooter.

  • #377
The comment under the YouTube video says the POI has a 911 tattoo but I didn't post that comment because I personally couldn't see it. Maybe someone else can.
It's quite possible he was just an onlooker taking pics, never dreaming the FBI would be looking for him because of it. JMO

The clip is so short but I also notice a white woman talking to a person in the group. She's wearing sandals and a summer top.

Just to find out why he was there. Also to find out why he left.

  • #380
Well, if he's just an innocent onlooker, he should be ID'd pretty quickly.
