When she was captured on Sunday night, nearly 200 miles from the Wisconsin group home she allegedly fled, "Slender Man" stabbing assailant Morgan Geyser told officers who asked for her identity to "just Google" her, according to Illinois police.

[…]

Geyser's traveling companion, whose name was not released, was charged with criminal trespassing and obstructing identification, according to police. He has since been released and authorities did not provide information on his involvement in Geyser's escape from the group home.

[…]

Waukesha County District Attorney Lesli Boese, whose office prosecuted Geyser in the 2014 stabbing case, expressed her hope that the state Department of Health Services, which has custody of Geyser, will file a petition to revoke the conditional release she was granted in September.

"We fully support that motion," Boese said at a news conference on Monday.

Boese outlined the procedure that would follow a petition to revoke Geyser's conditional release being filed.

"We will go before a judge to make a decision whether or not she will be returned to conditional release or whether she will be returned to institutionalized care, which is where she came from," she said.

I fully believe her and A.W. capable of more violence in the future.
They should be in prison and not a group home.
It's a miracle their victim, P. Leutner, survived, but am thinking there is still emotional trauma and she'll need more healing.
This escape had to be so difficult for her and her family.

From march 7th, 2025

But last week, prosecutors raised concerns, alleging Geyser had "violent" communication with a man outside the facility and read a book in the facility with "themes of sexual sadism and murder."

Insane that she was let out in the first place
Pbm.
Agreed with last sentence as well.
Re. the purple bolded : It sounds like MG is far from being 'done' with the violence she and her bestie carried out when they were teens ?
Imo she will commit more crimes if released.
Omo.

Geyser was found at a truck stop in Posen, Illinois, police there confirmed November 24, along with a 43-year-old man identified in a police report obtained by WTMJ as Chad Mecca of Janesville, Wisconsin. Posen is about 25 miles south of Chicago and about 170 miles south of Madison, near where Geyser’s group home is located.

The pair initially gave police fake names, “Stephanie Gries” and “Charles Robertson”, respectively. After both names failed to turn up in police records, Geyser shared her real name, telling an officer to “Google her name” to find out who she was.

According to the report, Geyser and Mecca became acquainted through Good Shepherd Church in Madison. After the state denied Mecca a formal request to visit Geyser at her group home on the city’s south side, he snuck in the home to meet her multiple times “by climbing in her window”, according to the report.

Man, between the Dept of Corrections not actually sending the notification to Madison police that Morgan had cut off her ankle bracelet and left, the fact that someone was able to REPEATEDLY climb up to her window to go in and visit her at the group home (which I'm assuming had to have met certain standards in order to take in a criminal in order to get a contract with the state of Wisconsin/DOC/Dept of Health Services).....just adds to the doubt that this situation was handled correctly at all.

Although she is an adult now, MG and maybe AW (not sure about her haven't heard as much) will remain dangerous for a long time.
My opinion only.
I'd be afraid of them even now, if either one showed up at my house , even if for legit reason (car broke down, etc.)
Such a heinous crime for two teen girls to commit.
Wonder what will happen now.
Fairly certain MG will not be returning to minimum security group housing.
Imo.

For starters, no more windows.

Also:
"Geyser told police she cut her ankle monitor with a pair of scissors, and that the two had discussed fleeing as far away as Nashville, Tennessee, but ran out of money after first taking a bus from Madison to Chicago, then walking the roughly 25 miles south to Posen."

This makes me really have questions about her friend (who was not another resident of the group home, but they met at church). A 43 year old person not understanding in a very general sense the amount of money that would be needed to flee to Nashville from Madison is concerning. Two bus tickets from Madison to Chicago are about $80ish. I'm assuming they also spent some money on food. It sounds like no planning skills, not a great grasp of reality, etc.

Did they seriously walk 25 miles?

Morgan has the same attorney as Maxwell Anderson, who murdered Sade Robinson. Thought that was interesting

Good catch. In general, there's something very strange about Waukesha County Wisconsin, JMO. So many cases winding up there.
