I get what you’re saying and I think it has a salient point. There’s a reason there was a protection order but no criminal charges after she first went to Arkansas. They probably couldn’t prove he actually took her across state lines if she did something like take a bus to Arkansas, and probably had issues with proving that he knowingly hid a missing juvenile, and the acts involved in getting her pregnant were likely committed in Arkansas where it isn’t illegal. So the parents could get a protection order but couldn’t get Wisconsin or Arkansas to press any charges; especially since the victim would be unlikely to cooperate as a witness against him because she thinks they’re in love because she’s been abused and groomed.

Now that he’s actively taken her across state lines and in violation of a protective order, there’s a lot more that the feds and/or Wisconsin can charge him with and effectively prove in court.
I agree with you. With a protective order in Wisconsin, there's a little bit more to work with.

Is there not a way to trail credit card/cash card payments he might be making and or withdrawing cash
can anyone guess/speculate as to how police have tracked his car through several license plate changes? maybe they are tracking his purchases as well but haven't disclosed it. I'd think that tracking the car like this is much harder, yet they've done it.

Serially following plate readers, I'd guess.

Perhaps looking at plate readers for the time before she disappeared and he showed up at wherever she was. Then noticing that the Arkansas car was missing on serial CCTV but the same color and type of car was showing up with an Arizona, or Pennsylvannia plate.

I other words, plain ol' good hard detective work.

Franklin was found in Austin, Ark. in December where it was believed she met Day online. An Arkansas law enforcement agency "advised they were in contact" with Franklin. According to the complaint, the victim told police her parents believed she was staying with a friend. She decided she would rather stay with Day than at home. She said Day did know she was 16. She said they waited until they arrived in Arkansas to become sexually active because the age of consent is 16 there compared to 18 in Wisconsin.

It's been more than 72 hours since she went missing.

They could be several states away, so LE needs to be putting out APB's in a much wider net than just Illinois or Arkasas. I'd be thinking Minnesota, the Dakotas, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Tennessee.

Most likely, they are hiding out in a cheap motel, where she is not going outdoors and he is doing all the food shopping and such, in his 2013 Black Buick LaCrosse. I'd think small towns not near the interstate freeways.

First of all, I'd be checking any place where he has been known to be spending any time in.
Two concerns I have are that wigs, hair dye, etc. may change apperances and that if that this is second kidnapping out of state with additional offenses, he may feel that he has nothing to lose after awhile and escalate, especially since it is apparent he has anger issues/violence history. Wonder what money source they are living off of legal or illegal? Hope LE has som additional leads by now. JMO

? Was she ever reported missing back in Dec? Sophia was there for what? Months? Did anyone call the family who she was staying with during that time to see how things were going? I don't know the answers here nor am I placing blame but the questions are legit. IMO

That story sounds completely fabricated, that she didn't meet Day until when at age 15, while in Austin, Arkansas for no apparent reason, 10 hours drive from her family's home she out of the blue meets Day and decides to stay with him.

I call BS on that story

They have not thought that far ahead. She's putting him above the child she's carrying, he has made himself the victim in this. She's trying to prove her worth at the cost of her self and child. In her eyes, he's the victim. Sad.

I just read in another article that when LE went to Day's home, she ran out the back door. That's how she was found the first time she went missing. I will try to find the link.

From the article linked below:

They believed she was still around Beaver Dam and working at a local McDonald’s, so she was not reported as a missing juvenile. The parents said they had been in regular contact with her by phone.

It wasn't until officers did a December probation check they discovered the two together.

"Two of them went to do a check on Mr. Day, and someone ran out the back door of his residence," Sheriff Staley said. "Turns out it was a female that was a juvenile from Wisconsin."

This is from that news article:

"According to the complaint, a Dodge County sergeant was on duty on Dec. 10 in Beaver Dam about a missing juvenile. The parents said in July of 2024, she had not returned home one night. They believed she was still around Beaver Dam and working at a local McDonald’s, so she was not reported as a missing juvenile. The parents said they had been in regular contact with her by phone."

This implies the parents of the then 15 year old thought she was working in a McDonalds and was still in Beaver Dam, WI but they had not actually seen her personally since July? And all that time she was actually 800 miles away? And somehow LE or the parent's did not think she was missing or a runaway?

This makes no sense at all.

Sadly, mature or not, teenagers often have impulsive thinking and don’t think about long term consequences or reality of the situation, especially if she felt rebellious against people in her life who cared for her. Jmo

And though I think that's a pile of steaming you know what, it also happens to fit the Mann Act to a tee.

He took her to Arkansas to rape her because age of consent was different there. That's trafficking a minor across state lines for sexual purposes.

I hope they put out BOLOs to all community clinics/hospitals in areas they think she may be in. Unfortunately, I’m guessing she isn’t getting proper prenatal care, but if she lands at a clinic I hope the healthcare providers are suspicious. I know in my state we have mandatory trafficking edu, etc…also hoping drugs/alcohol are not being given to her, especially if pregnant. On a different note I wonder if she met his ex or his people when she was in AK before. So many questions.

We spoke with Sophia’s sisters this afternoon, and while they declined to speak on camera, they said they just want her home safely and thanked the community for their continued support. Pastor Ohman added that friends and family will continue to pray for Sophia’s safe return.

I’m cool to radically pivot here, as I expect Sophia could read this one day, and retrospectives are often powerful … I am rooting for you and the baby. I realize the imperfections in your situation. You deserve a great man, I don’t think this guy is it, and I realize that is hard to see. I hope for all the best for you.

JMO, she doesn’t have the emotional maturity or life experience to understand her choices being made right now. This monster has brainwashed her into believing everyone else is their enemy and he is her savior.

Once he is caught, convicted, and out of her life physically. Hopefully the forced separation will give her the time to see him for what he truly is.
