We don't know anything about her parents or their relationship with her, so I think these are unfair assumptions to make and verge on victim-blaming (implying that it's the parents' fault their child was abducted).To take it further, IMO-- from July-Dec, the parents didn't appear to have any concerns about what their 16 year old daughter was doing or where she was living; did they inquire if she was safe or whether she had enough food to eat? They had no contact until they IMO found out she was in AR. I wonder at what point they found out that she was pregnant.

For all we know, she was in foster care or was legally emancipated or in some other arrangement where her biological parents didn't even have custody.
