Found Safe WI - SMF, 16, Beaver Dam, 2 Feb 2025 *3 mo's pregnant, believed to be with 40-year-old father of the baby*

I’m amazed that they did all that haphazard driving around and hitchhiking and still managed to stay hidden for so long. I mean, I can imagine they were sleeping in the car at times, but then once the car got ditched, where did they actually sleep?! Sitting upright while the truckers drove them, head down on a table in a diner, literally on the ground? It says at one point they slept in a tent, but what were they doing all the other nights. I cannot imagine this was the romantic dream he promised when he groomed her.

I hope also that the news that there were others he was grooming is the news S needs to snap out of the hold he has on her. It was never true love. He’s just a creeper who will abuse anyone he can get his hands on. I hope that realisation means she turns on him. MOO

Right? I would think the novelty of being "on the run" would wear off pretty quickly for a pregnant 16-year-old having to sleep on the side of the road. I hope she is able to move on from this and has a happy, healthy life in the future.

The complaint went on to explain that F said she was engaged to Day and they had talked about getting married. F said they planned on going to the East Coast, where they wanted to find cash-paying jobs. F admitted there was not a plan on what to do when the baby came.

Updated criminal complaint in article.
Amended criminal complaint reveals alleged details of what happened to missing pregnant teen SF
zero plan. So romantic. Them against the world, life on the lam, not a clue how they were going to address the very real infant they would be bringing into the world. Sounds about right.

In the criminal complaint it said Day used his EBT card to buy food in Missouri. I would imagine since he had a way to purchase food he used his EBT card more than just that one time to buy food when they needed it.

I wonder if LE/FBI knew Day had an EBT card. If they had, it may have been a way to track their movements across the country.

You hear LE say all the time there has been no activity on the victims bank accounts. But have you ever heard LE say there has been no activity on the victims EBT account?

My bet is no one even thinks to check activity on an EBT card in missing person cases.

Why did HE have an EBT card?

I bet it is exactly how they were tracking them but without a way to get ahead of them.

I hope someone does ensure he has his parental rights terminated. But, that doesn't mean he won't try to pester her for years to come (even if he's sitting in jail). MOO.

The worst part will be, even if his parental rights are terminated and the child is not told anything about his or her father, once the child gets older, he or she would be able to determine without much effort who their father is from all the publicity this case has received.

The other thing I can see happening is Day will likely have prison groupies that will write or visit him which he will feed on. Some may be of age, other may not.

God forbid one would want to marry him.

Just looking at the laws in WI for parental rights being involuntary terminated it looks like the state would have to establish facts such as abandonment, abuse, neglect, etc. I suspect they'd have grounds based on his past criminal history but technically he's never committed a crime against the unborn baby. It would truly be best for ALL if he voluntarily gave up any rights.

Wisconsin allows for termination or limitation of parental rights when a child is born from rape and does not require a conviction for the sexual offense to terminate or limit the rapist’s parental rights.

The state can also make the final decision to terminate parental rights when a sexual assault leads to the birth of a child. What I take this to mean is that even if she chooses not to terminate his parental rights, the state could on her behalf. (I'm assuming since she is a minor, among other factors, that his crimes would be considered sexual assault. JMO)

I mean there's the fact that he had sex with a minor and all at..... Surely that's enough proof that he's unfit to be in this child's life? (Not sure if that has been proven beyond doubt yet, but I'm sure it won't take much)
