I know he has charges in Arkansas and Wisconsin, but never heard anything about Vermont and Indiana charges.

Vermont? No kidding. I've never heard anything about him being in trouble here. Weird, our local station has a story about this case, but they haven't made a connection yet to charges in Vermont.

At a second hearing Friday afternoon, the Sarpy County judge set bail at $5 million for the out-of-state charges and $2.5 million for the Nebraska charges; but Day won’t be able to bond out because of his pending federal charges.

He is due back in court on Thursday.

Day is also fighting extradition; that request is set to be reviewed on Thursday morning, court records show.

What an amazing rescue (STS). Hoping she is glad to be home...
She may need some time by herself -- surely her folks will give her a bit of space -- in her room at home, that is.
Wondering if she is glad to be back...
 
Whatever life that abuser offered SF, I doubt being homeless without even a car was part of his brochure. Lawless as he has proven himself to be, there's no telling what his propensity for violence is. She is 100% victim and the last two months couldn't have been pleasant or easy. I give her credit for surviving a very tenuous if not downright scary ordeal, long enough to be rescued.

Long road ahead for her but I hope restorative sleep in a real bed, real showers in a real house and the comforts of family, therapy, medical care, a roof provide her the security she needs to process this.

And I hope he is introduced swiftly to a house, too. The BIG one. With bars and perimeter barbed wire. Predator. Let him make friends his own age. In prison.

Court records show Day appeared in federal court in Omaha on Friday. Prosecutors in that state have charged him with transportation of minors, a felony that carries a sentence of 10 years to life in prison.

While in court, Day waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Nebraska, and requested it instead be conducted in Arkansas, where the charges against him originated.

"I know when she came home the first time she wanted to keep the baby," Leah said. "We are going to proceed with that plan, if that is still want she wants. We will care for them and love them."

Officials gave Leah and Stephen information to read about protecting children from online predators. They had already done all the suggestions.

The second paragraph is very scary if true. It shows that while these devices and the internet exist, there will be ways to connect with people without others knowing. It's chilling actually.

I Haven't found anything else on that hearing said to be taking place later in the day.
He was to be charged with "exploitation".

Did victims/parents from Vermont and Indiana contact LE or was LE able to somehow retrieve messages from his cell phone w/o being in possession of it?
Maybe the information was found in the house where he lived with his mother?
