GUILTY WI - Taylor Schabusiness, 24, dismembered man’s body, placed head in bucket, Green Bay, 2022 *Graphic*

UPDATE: The jail told Scripps News Green Bay that a decision was made to put Taylor Schabusiness in a spit hood due to 'recent behavior.'

“People quite frankly underestimate the level of danger that officers can face from individuals that are using their mouths and their teeth,” Maria Haberfeld, a professor of police science at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, told the Times.
Court TV asked the Court why Schabusiness was placed in a spit hood, but received no answer. The Brown County Jail told Scripps News Green Bay that the decision was made to put Schabusiness in a hood due to recent behavior issues for the safety of everyone around her.

Previously, Schabusiness had attacked her attorney during a court hearing, tackling him before she was removed from the room. She was not shackled and had no hood over her face during her trial.

I honestly thought that a lot of her "psychosis" was fake

But im thinking i might be wrong

I didn’t know what to think about TS. It was such a sad and disturbing case. Hoping she would be getting help, but I supposed that was wishful thinking. moo

Schabusiness is facing one count of battery by prisoner.
She has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Feb. 7 at the Fond du Lac County courthouse.

Unfortunately I doubt this will be the last incident, TS clearly chooses violence as her first response. The fact she is reported to have been laughing throughout is very disturbing and fits in with her behaviour in court during the murder trial. She is one very dangerous woman imo.

She is what people should show their children they could end up LIVING with if they have to go to Jail! I would use her as my personal anti drug anti jail parenting messages. Like a local boogie man .

Convicted murderer Taylor Schabusiness is due in court today for a preliminary hearing. She is accused of attacking a corrections officer last July; she is charged w/battery by a prisoner.

What is the point? Respectfully. Shes in jail for the rest of her life, right? Didnt she get LWOP?

Because the attacked guard deserves justice. And it's another crime against the people, merits charging, even if her sentence can't really be longer than LWOP.

What a precious piece of work Taylor is.

the point is, she will continue to be incarcerated for the rest of her life, which could be long indeed. It's a whole different world behind bars. If she continues to rack up charges and convictions it could result in her being moved to a higher risk, lower privileges, prison or ward inside the prison. While it may feel like a waste to prosecute, that prosecution could result in very real consequences for her, even though it seems like the worst has already happened to her. JMO

FOND DU LAC (WLUK) – A competency exam was ordered Friday for convicted killer Taylor Schabusiness on the charges for allegedlyassaulting a sergeant at the Taycheedah Correctional Institution.

Schabusiness was scheduled for a preliminary hearing Friday, but a competency exam was requested and granted. No court date to review the results was scheduled Friday.

I was looking at it thru a logistical viewpoint. I definitely agree with what you are saying.

Very good point
It's very concerning when correction officers are attacked, imo. Correction Officers need protection, too
It is very concerning when anyone is assaulted. i was just asking whats the point of adding more time to a guaranteed life sentence logistically. Ive seen recieved feedback on that and my view has definitely changed.

Thank you all for your informative responses

Schabusiness and her lawyer filed an appeal shortly after she was sentenced and convicted, but in a new filing the attorney representing the convicted murderer told the judge that that they are dropping those efforts.

Attorney Gregory Petit said that his client's conviction came after a fair investigation and trial, and that as a result there are no grounds on which they could launch a successful challenge to the ruling, in a no merit order obtained by PEOPLE.

The case will now be closed for good after Petit submits his final order to a judge for the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.
