This is a very perplexing and shocking case. I was rather confused earlier on in this thread by the pictures of text messages from the biological father's new wife or partner. I wasn't sure what exactly was the source of them. But it may be possible that the step wife or someone else was providing an alibi for him and that would explain the messages saying 'she should never have sent the children back there' - she might knowingly or unknowingly have been trying to protect him from suspicion.

If the speculation about previous court hearings were correct that he had been challenging whether he was the father of the children - he may have come to believe that and resented the child support he was paying. But you have to either be in a rage or have completely disassociated yourself from any human connection with those poor children to do such a terrible thing. Or it could have been to inflict revenge on his ex wife. Though IMO that usually happens at the time of a break up not when they are settled into new relationships. Or such a heinous crime could have been motivated by the desire to prevent the children telling about other actions or abuse inflicted upon them.

Whatever is the case it is too brutal and cruel to imagine why anyone would end those innocent lives so young. All speculation on my part. I've not posted in a while so MODs please forgive me if I have transgressed any of the rules.

Court records would indicate that there was a paternity related hearing the day before the murders. IMO this wasn’t a case of him not wanting to pay child support because he feared the children were not his, this is a case of him not wanting to pay child support, period. No children = no child support. Hate saying that.

RIP poor babies...

You know, before men were required to support their children, they just walked away, with no repercussions. They never wanted custody of their children then.

Wow! Just checked in here after a long time...have to admit that early suspicions of the bio dad were felt after seeing he and his new wife’s FB posts right after the deaths. Again...how does the mind become so sick as to kill your own kids? Just unbelievable. Prayers for the mom, and family who loved them. Godspeed little ones. Moo

No trial date was set, as the defense asked for time to review all of the evidence in the case. The next court hearing is a status conference Dec. 4.

Also Monday, Judge Mark McGinnis approved the release of the children’s bodies to their mother, who plans to have them cremated. The issue was discussed in court because it means the defense will not be able to hire an expert to examine the bodies. Beyer and his attorney endorsed the decision.

Earlier this month, the Beyer’s attorney filed a motion for the evaluation.

Documents show a nine-day jury trial is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Monday, November 29. As previously reported, court officials scheduled Beyer’s trial for late November and early December during a hearing late last year.

Trial rescheduled in Kaukauna children's deaths

His two-week trial was scheduled to start Nov. 29. But a new date of Sept. 26, 2022, was set Monday, court records show.

Also, Beyer has been found competent to stand trial, meaning he can understand the court proceeding and assist in his own defense.
