Will Casey face probation?

guess his hands were tied, but I'll never be able to swallow why he allowed her to serve her check fraud concurrent with the lying charges....

It probably happens all the time. I would think it has more to do with not wanting to devote additional resources when you can have inmates double up on time served in order to not overclog the system. He'd probably wouldn't have allowed it if she was guilty of more serious crimes but that's not the case here.

I've been afraid to say anything negative about HHJP BUT I will now that Whisperer has spoken. :p

The judge was fair in many ways but I felt like he constantly pandered to the defense. The judge knew what would be included in opening statements--yet he allowed Baez to begin the DT part of trial with out and out bs lies.

I keep going back to someone here stating that Judge Perry could have rejected the jurors verdict. Too bad he didn't. I lost respect for him when he let a child killer -imo-walk free never to pay for a terrible crime.

If Perry has anything to do with the parole --FCA won't suffer at all.
imoo

Are you serious? I have never heard this before.......why oh why did he not reject it? I feel in my heart he knew FCA killed Caylee.......now I have really sunk another notch knowing he could have done something about the verdict...... :)

RBBM:

Judge Perry could have REJECTED that "NG Verdict" ...

From what I remember -- but I am NOT sure at which time he said he could -- was during the "many" times the DT had asked for a "mistrial" ...

And during the discussion about the "mistrial" Judge Perry asked something to the effect of "at what point can he (the Judge) declare a mistrial" ? and the answer was "up to the point when the verdict was read" !

Now ... I am doing this from "memory" and if I had the time or remember which day Judge Perry said this, I would provide the link with the video from the trial ...

But I clearly remember him saying "up until the verdict is read" that a "mistrial" could be granted !

I really wish Judge Perry would have "peeked" at the "verdict" :innocent: ... and then made himself look busy like he was reading something else that was a problem :innocent: ... then dismiss the jury :innocent: ... and then declare a MISTRIAL !

But he did NOT ... I guess he could have found a way to do it.

He could NOT have "rejected" the verdict -- but he could have "found a way around it" is what I guess I am trying to say ... but he did NOT !

If I am wrong ... please correct me. And if anyone remembers Judge Pery saying this and can provide a link -- great ! Thank You !

What irritates me when he says this, and he's said it before is no, it's not done because they appealed the lying convictions. He said recently the Casey circus is over. Well maybe if they didn't appeal the convictions and there weren't civil lawsuits and the SA wasn't trying to get $$ it would be, but it's not.

this won't be over until it's over, just my little :twocents: but you know it's true

Actually I think once he's handed the verdict that's it. You think no one in that courtroom is not going to see him look at the verdict sheet(s)?

Keep in mind that until the verdict was read, very few people wanted a mistrial because they thought it was a sure thing. Hindsight is 20/20.

In the ask the lawyer thread, AZlawyer said that HHJP couldn't have rejected the verdict. There was nothing he could do after the verdict was read.

Once he READ IT -- nothing could be done ... But only if he had PEEKED AT THAT VERDICT !

Then he could have done it !

I’ve always found this forum to be a place where you can say what you feel and not be afraid of backlash. So I wanted to make a comment about some remarks made on the threads yesterday that I found odd. First my opinion is that Orange County and Judge Perry are sick of Casey Anthony and this circus and she is not going to be sentenced to serving any time other than what she has. JB and CM will make sure of that and I am not surprised that Judge Perry granted a stay and her appearance is not necessary. My gut feeling of yesterday was confirmed when I watched HLN at 6:00 last night.

Second, I found it kind of odd that people commented that they would boycott NBC/The Today Show because they had JB on to talk about what was happening with this probation motion and the court’s demand she report by 10 a.m. today. I have watched the Today Show since Jane Pauley/Bryant Gumbel. If you watched Matt Lauer’s interview with JB, it was obvious to me that Matt Lauer is not a Casey Anthony fan and I don’t think he was really all that cordial to JB but who else was going to speak about it and provide us, the public, with all that was going on behind the scenes. It had to be JB or CM that had that information. I don’t think I’ve read that anyone is going to boycott WESH, HLN, CNN, MSNBC, Fox or anyone else who has spoken to any of her defense team. I don’t believe for one second that the Today Show is coddling the idea of using JB as part of their legal experts. LOL! I think Dan Abrams and Savannah Guthrie do a fine job. I just wanted to speak to that because I thought it may have been said in haste. Like I said, who was going to know what Casey or the defenses next move was going to be other than her attorney. Would you not buy the newspaper that interviewed JB to find out the information as well? JMO and thanks for listening. This is not intended to offend but to ask why. :seeya:

Just wanted to ease your mind a bit. I have stopped watching HLN & so have alot of others here in Canada.
I can't watch anything about this case anymore with out getting upset.
I have no desire to hear anything JB or the rest have to say nor do I believe any of them.
I have not been able to watch since the unjust verdict.

I guess he felt like us, almost positive she would be convicted,he was probably as shocked as we were......
And I too felt he bent over backwards for the DT and jury......apparently it worked :(

BBM: Maybe ... but Judge Perry "ran" HIS courtroom like HE wanted to ... Once it was READ -- the "fat lady sang" ... but there were ways "around it" ... afterall -- there are many "loopholes" in the law and he could have gone around it for the sake of Justice !

Judge Perry could have done anything the he77 he wanted to !
Judge Perry bent over backwards and sideways for the DT and the Jury ...

And look at what happened ...

Judge Perry put TOO MUCH FAITH IN THAT JURY ...

And now I HAVE LOST ALL FAITH -- EVERY BIT OF FAITH AND RESPECT I HAD FOR JUDGE PERRY !

He probably will do NOTHING tomorrow but let CFCA "off the hook" again -- Judge Perry and the SA could NOT even get the "days served in jail" correct !

:innocent: I hope I am wrong and that tomorrow he will REALIZE that the system screwed up somewhere and CFCA will have to be held ACCOUNTABLE -- for the FIRST TIME IN HER LIFE -- for SOMETHING !

MOO MOO MOO ....

And SORRY FOR THE RANT ... I am FRUSTRATED !

Wonder if she paid her fees and fines for the check charges while doing probation in jail. If not why wasn't it continued until she did? Also, just thought of something she wasn't listed on the FL offender site as being on probation for that year. If they had that would of caused an outrage right away and it would of been corrected then! :banghead:

Did she ever pay Amy back? Does she EVER have to account for anything?:banghead:
Oh, not to mention her Grandma or Mother, the money she stole. Ive never seen anyone get away with so much. I don't get it.
I would think she would be on probation and made to pay Amy back every dime.

I didn't realize what an effect it had on me but I haven't gotten over it either. I think I was numb for the first two weeks.

BBM: I agree ! Judge Perry really screwed this up !

CFCA should NOT been allowed to serve these charges "concurrent" ...

Judge Perry was clear that the Lying to LE Charges would be served "consecutively" ...

I hope this gets fixed tomorrow ... but I am not counting on it ... I got a better chance of going to the moon tomorrow than CFCA getting probation ...

No... he could NOT have done anything about it. Acquittals cannot be overturned, once a person is found not guilty, it's a done deal. Whoever made that statement was either misinformed or just engaged in wishful thinking.

This is all I kept saying to myself months before the verdict came down. That FCA was finally going to answer to someone for the first time in her life....and it made me smile
But she got the last laugh :banghead:

Just a suggestion:maybe we could have a thread for those who are really having trouble moving on and accepting the verdict...a place to vent the anger.......

I think I remember that Cindy paid Amy back for the money Casey stole from her.

Any TV Station/Network, magazine, etc., that ever interviews FCA will forever not be watched or bought by me. For that I am certain. JB can run his mouth all he wants wherever he wants, I can turn the channel and move on.

He did peek.
HHJP read the verdict forms TWICE before giving them to the clerk.
