to kill many people and get away with it for some time takes a degree of tact and organization. Doesn't mean the individual is a genius, just that they know how to cover their tracks.

I think LISK is someone very close to this case. Who knows he has probably been on these boards and I can bet he tried (or wish he could have) to make it to the victims vigil after the victims bodies were found.

This is the updated profile of the Long Island Serial Killer from John Kelly's S.T.A.L.K. Inc. It was his profile and work that helped bring Gary Ridgeway to justice. As an educator, and one who teaches criminal profiling I think his updated profile was exceptionally done. He is taunting LISK, taunting him to get angry to get unhinged. Its in doing so that he is most likely to get enraged and act without thinking!

Its his rage, his anger, the time where he feels he's NOT in control of his life/actions that he is most likely to act without thinking, to act without his ability to be meticulous that will ultimately lead him to making a mistake and giving law enforcement the clues they need to lead them to his backyard!

The updated Long Island Serial Killer - STALK PROFILE

This killer is a sexual sadist who obtains a high from seeing women suffer and die. He enjoys watching violent . He is very familiar with the Long Island area and his dump sites. He is between the ages of 34 and 50. He has had and is known for having a long-time fascination with Law-Enforcement and has acquired police paraphernalia over the years. He is very literate with computers and communications in general. Because of this he is probably very adept at computer generated sounds, voices or phrases. He could be a collector of cell phones, not only of ones belonging to the victims. He is above average in intelligence. He drives an enclosed vehicle, probably a van. He is a very organized person, with a “place for everything and everything in its place”, and the word controlling could be his middle name. He hates women and, historically, probably physically abused them in relationships. He probably feels that his mother didn’t take care of him when he was a child, and/or he has been betrayed by women through a lack of nurturing or through their infidelity.

He is a very auditory person who can be a charming talker who also socializes well. He’s probably a major bragger about himself to others on what he believes are his accomplishments. He will probably not brag about the murders. He has an affinity for social networking sites, especially Craigslist, to search for his victims from a pool of escort service providers. He has the luxury to be able to spend a lot of time on the phone qualifying his victims to find the right one of opportunity. He has a way of finding out which prostitutes don’t have a driver, pimp or someone watching over them. Perhaps he utilizes a voice stress analyzer. The majority of the women he called have not met his criteria for him to make them victims because they were too much of a risk for him; somehow he knew through his conversation that they had someone watching over them. The phone is this predator’s thing, for sure. He probably has a history of abusive demeaning phone sex, sexual harassment, or harassment in general, by phone; this harassment most likely took place against ex-girlfriends or any females who may have crossed him socially or in the workplace. Phone harassment may also have taken place against men who he believes had crossed him in some way.

[/FONT]Serial killers may not feel any guilt or remorse, but they do feel fear. The Long Island serial killer is feeling fear of apprehension. He is also a baby killer and he's feeling the fear of his fiendish deed.
It's only a matter of time until authorities arrest him. When that happens, he will probably spend the rest of his life in prison. He should know that in prison, the majority of inmates hate baby killers, and will treat him accordingly.

Some punishments are worse than death.


Before they perfect their horrific trade. Most serial killers make mistakes in the beginning of their new murderous careers. The Long Island serial killer is no different. Whether it be that a girl got away from him; similar to a girl getting away from Gary Ridgeway, The Green River Killer, or a girl getting away from Robert Picton, the infamous serial killer in British Columbia. The Long Island serial killer has made mistakes early on as well. One of those mistakes might have been having a known relationship with one of his first victims, probably the one, whose baby he killed. He separated the body parts of the mother miles away from where the baby was found. I believe this is because he can be connected to her and didn't want her found and identified. Someone out there knows of their relationship. Why else would he jeopardize himself and go through so much effort and trouble to get rid of the body?


A possible pattern could be emerging after the identification of the Long Island Serial Killer's five victims. The five victims were all from out of town, and none were New York City metropolitan area natives.
Usually, born or bred NY City Metro escorts are extremely cautious and very vigilant of their surroundings, and would be skeptical of a fast talking John who may want to do them harm. I don't think this killer would have had an easy time getting NY City born or bred escorts to meet him alone without someone watching over them. We believe that this could be part of this predator's trolling philosophy. If the girls are from out of town, and recently coming to NY, they would be more naive and trusting of a sweet talking killer

This killer should turn himself in to authorities ASAP, and tell his story to the millions of people who are interested in him. He knows he can't stop killing! If he doesn't turn himself in, eventually he will be arrested and lose control of his destiny or future.

The Egomaniac with the Inferiority Complex:

This sweet talking killer is an egomaniac with a major inferiority complex, which will be his undoing. He gets a high just thinking about how he's outsmarted everyone. However, this is short lived. When this killer comes down from his egomaniac high, he has to face his darkest reality. That reality is that he's nothing but a fragile looser who cannot take the slightest of criticisms. At his core, he feels so much less than others, that he has to escape this reality and focus his mind on his stimulating murderous fantasies (which he will eventually act out on). He is just like the heroine addict that is coming down from his last high, who can't face his demons, so he fantasizes on procuring his next fix.


This potent killer of women and children has, should we say, a little problem (which he believes is a little male organ problem, that is). This killer is impotent, along with having poor relationship skills with women.
This killer was humiliated by a woman (or women) when he was trying to have a sexual relationship with them.

THE LOSER
From what we understand, this loser has made a number of mistakes in the murders of his victims, that will come back to haunt him.
As we post this comment law-enforcement is getting closer to catching this DUMMY. This killer of women and children.

John Kelly wrote the LISK profile. Its obvious he wanted to antagonize the killer.
Several people believe in the one killer theory. Including the Feds that Dormer sat down with.

Leslie D'Ambrosia did not use that language when making her excellent profile of the Original Night Stalker. It's completely unnecessary and full of macho bravado, this attitude does not get serial killers caught. I also doubt the feds believe LISK did all the killings.

I agree. Not sure how professional this profiler is with his language (though I know I know - he is a profiler). He neglected to bring up the 4 typologies of serial killers that LISK embodies (or 3 should I say). This is important because the typologies have certain demographics that are more likely to embody the typology such as IQ, mental health, social status, etc. LISKS motivations tick 3 of the 4 Serial Killer typologies IMHO. Power&control, mission based, and hedonistic. With visionaries (typically more at risk individuals/socially and mentally unstable) it is always amazing to me when they evade capture for a while b/c essentially most of them are insane and are considered disorganized serial killers. LISK falls under an organized power&control, mission based, hedonistic serial killer profile. I do not believe LISK is responsible for every set of remains found around Long Island/Jones/Gilgo Beach/Hempstead/etc. IMO He is no younger than 38 and no older than 55. I could go on and on, but I won't. Since LISK is an organized killer, it is a toss up as to whether or not he will be caught IMHO. He could end up the Next Jack the Ripper and forever be anonymous or he could be the next Green River Killer and make the wrong move to get caught. Pray that he fails in his organizational methodology and makes that tiny mistake that leads the FBI straight to his front door.

Wouldn't he worry that taunting the suspect might make him active again (as LISK would want to prove/"show" himself) and another innocent victim will be killed? That's what I would worry about. Just an honest concern. I wouldn't be willing to put anyone in harms way to catch a killer.

Also, how is he so positive the killer can't perform sexually? I get he is trying to enrage LISK whether it is true or not, but in that he is losing credibility with his points. There have been plenty of sadistic killers who did horrible things to prostitutes and they were able to sexually perform. I guess where I worry is that the profiler seems so CERTAIN in his analysis about things that certainly can't be verified. We do know some things about his character based on verified info and things he said, but I don't know if not being able to get it up is one of them.

For the record it is very cool that you teach a profiling course. Thanks for that. Education is important! Especially in the Justice programs. Where do you teach?

I agree that likely the FBI has agents on craigslist and backpage waiting for LISK. Again, ain't it curiously interesting that after the bodies were found Burke severed his departments relationship with the FBI and took his top detectives off of the gang task force program? Could be a coincidence. Could not be. Who knows! One has to wonder if he didn't want any further programs to open up concerning prostitution stings. Would really make it inconvenient if he is the killer (which im not sure he is, but hey... the rumor is there...)

There is a curious character who lives in Oak Beach that allegedly made harassing phone calls to people not directly related to the case (but they were sleuthing it). He got caught with a huge marijuana grow operation in PA. I bet he had access to plenty of burlap. If I were a working girl and dabbled in marijuana from time to time I might be more likely to trust/hang with a guy who cultivates a drug. Just another idea.

So many curious people surrounding this case, yet the killer is probably none of them.

I think it is spot on, but I don't see anything new in it that I haven't seen with other profilers. And I take issue with his language and trying to taunt the killer as that could make the killer want to "prove" his superiority and another life will be taken. JMO

This tactic of taunting the serial killer and insulting their intelligence and/or masculinity has proven to fail time and time again. It is also irresponsible for there may be new victims. This does not get serial killers caught. Furthermore, lots of serial killers have had satisfied spouses and can fool them into having a "normal" relationship. Not trying to defend the psychos or anything, I'm simply pointing out the truth, the impotent serial killer is a fiction of detective novels, sorry, it is true. How do we know he is watching the investigation?? I guess he may follow it superficially, I don't know, he may not even follow it at all.

I'm snipping part of this profile down to focus on the one part I do take issue with. IMO mraccountant contextualized the intent of this profile well but there is an assumption in in the STALK profile that I have seen echoed that I want to mention.

I agree that sex workers who are not NYC metro area natives would be more vulnerable to a SK but IMO it is not simple naivety or lack of vigilance. IMO a sex worker from another area, in some cases estranged from their family (JT) will be much more at risk simply because they do not have any support. Their pimp, if they have one, may be the only one they have in the city and the pimp may take advantage of that. I do not think that all of the LISK victims were naive. Yes, leaving their phones behind was a risk that cost some their lives but they didn't all do that. IMO the risks a sex worker is willing to take has more to do with their circumstances and experience level than hometown. Some NYC born and raised sex workers may take very dangerous risks if they are in a desperate situation. A sex worker new to the industry from anywhere will also be much more vulnerable than one with substantial experience. I'm pointing this out not so much to pick a bone with this particular profile but just to bring this particular element to light.
