Do we have a MSM link that states that Desiree has been married 3 times?

I don't have a link right at hand, but didn't she marry a) the father of her older son b) Kaine and then c) Tony? Or am I just assuming that she married the father of the first child?

Must find link. Must find link.

"Not much attention has been paid to Tony Young, Desiree’s third husband and a detective with the Medford Police Department. "

http://www.wweek.com/editorial/3639/14358/?SOURCE=RSS

Married 3 times: McCullough was the 1st, they share a son, the son lives with his father, they live approximately 5-10 minutes from the Horman home right in the middle of some of those streets that LE is asking for video from. Horman was the 2nd, they share a son, Kyron, whom is still missing. Young is the 3rd, and an incredibly impressive detective in his own right, was/is an achieved handler with the police force, good upstanding citizens.

I don't like this article...not one bit. I think it's deplorable that Kyron isn't even in it - there should be a BIG FAT PICTURE OF HIM in this article! My notes on Desiree suggest that the non FDA approved drug was something not administered or obtained in the USA. Keep in mind, their locale is close enough to Canada to seek more expensive med treatments there. Some of the drugs used in Canada are not FDA approved. It doesn't mean they're bad drugs, it simply means that they just haven't gone through or completed the process of being FDA approved in the US. Sometimes it can take 7+ years to go through the testing & biological/chemical analysis of a drug before it gets FDA approved here. For example: Chicken Pox vaccination was used in France for many years before the USA started using it, and even then it wasn't mandatory. Now they sort of force it on us to make our kids get this vaccination - one that has a side effect of sterilization, very small percentage, but it's still there. My best friend had his eyes done in Canada & we live in NJ - costs $4G here but only $800 there, $1200 total including plane & hotel stay! I'm getting mine done after Christmas by his same doctor in Canada.

There is definitely a lot of confusion about things we can buy OTC or at a Health food store. A lot of these things can have adverse and toxic effects on our individual systems. I take multi vitamins and discovered today, that even a lot of these can be harmful! I did discover though, that anything that has USP Verified label is ok. and there are only 8 products as in dietary supplements with that label. There is a lot of controversy regarding any of these things, from dietary supplements to things helping in other areas of one's life. I usually do a lot of research online into things, and if one is dubious it always pays to speak with a health professional before taking anything.
Even though sometimes a lot of people are unaware of what exactly they are ingesting, and then when some have very bad or adverse effect, that have been life threatening or fatal, are these products removed from the shelf. I really do feel more needs to be done to protect consumers from a lot of these products!

Thanks! and Darn!

lol

Wish I'd known you had a gun friend :)

If you speak to him again, ask if there are any laws forbidding loaning or gifts of guns. I couldn't find anything in the statutes.

He said it depends on the age, 18 for a shotgun and 21 for a pistol. It is like lending a car, there are liabilities for the gun owner who did the lending. He doesn't have his books with him now (he's at a campground right now) and can't remember exactly what the liabilities are offhand. :)

(He was at a picnic table cleaning one of his guns when I called. LOL)

The same author has written 37 articles on the Kyron Horman case. The articles have covered and 'looked at' many different aspects of the case. Many, but not all of the articles, have included a picture and sometimes pictures of Kyron. I wonder if those who are so put out by this article think all of the articles by this author are yellow journalism, or just this one?

I myself am not sure why a local newspaper needs to confine themselves to only reporting that Kyron is missing. But, thats just me. I want to know who the players are, and this article helped me with that. And, it keeps the case in the forefront, when really, the case is starting to lose its luster. JMO - i.b.

Finally have my thoughts in order to respond re: the WW article. As a former journalist and practicing writer/researcher, I'm appalled WW named the LS, based on info from Shannon Stoy's BOC blog. The name of the LS went out over the local police scanner when TH dialed 911 on the night of the MFH "sting." His name is "known," but the Oregonian refused to print it, having been asked by LE to not reveal the name of a cooperating witness. Local media complied. Now, this piece of shoddy reporting by WW. If you'll notice, WW gives the LS's name as "????" THEN goes on to NAME him!!! WTF?

WW isn't being a team player.

Didn't DY say that WW wasn't invited to a presser once? I don't blame her now.

I'm not as put off by the format as I am that Kyron was left out of the list of key players. I mean, that's sort of like giving detailed character descriptions for Hamlet, without having an entry for Hamlet.

I'm disgusted with three things:

First and most importantly, where's Kyron's face & bio?

Second, I hope the newscrews who used 'outdoor facilities' are embarrassed now they've been 'outed'.

Last, the lady who reads the news about Kyron each night to her own 7 year old. Really?! He's seven!! Don't burden him with such heavy worries!! Let him go play with his trucks and be carefree until adolescence hits.

From Kimster:

"Didn't DY say that WW wasn't invited to a presser once? I don't blame her now."

The family banned both the Oregonian and WW from their second press conference. Don't know the reason, but likely because the family felt a loss of control re: info and a fear of potential harm to the search.

First came Horman’s “ground rules,” as he described them. No cameras. No recordings. Everything was off the record and couldn’t be reported, unless agreed otherwise. Horman made everyone in the room agree to these rules before proceeding. And so this roomful of reporters consented, in essence, not to be reporters.

Horman then laid out how the meeting would go. They would take questions, make some phone calls (presumably to investigators, to find out what they could say in their answers), then return and make an on-the-record statement. But first, Horman wanted all the reporters he didn’t know to introduce themselves.

KEX radio, KATU, The Portland Tribune and “Inside Edition” all got the nod from Horman. But then came Shane Kavanaugh and Bryan Denson of The Oregonian.

Horman said the family didn’t like The Oregonian’s coverage and wanted them to leave. Horman said the daily had failed to be a “team player.”

“This is a team, and if we’re not going to play as a team, there’s no point in being here,” Horman said. “This is about Kyron.”

Denson objected, saying he’s new to the story and after 28 years in journalism he’s “a pretty good reporter.” But there was no arguing. The family wanted The O gone, and a woman who said she’s a manager at the church escorted them out. The biggest newspaper in the state had been eighty-sixed.

I introduced myself and said I’m with Willamette Week. Horman said the family has the same problem with WW. I agreed to leave. And so the paper with the second-biggest circulation in Oregon was also kicked out.

As far as I was concerned, after getting kicked out all deals were off. I wasn’t going to keep the meeting off the record.

I was going to ask if I was the only one who doesn't mind the article at all. :blushing: Actually, nothing about the media coverage has bothered me in the slightest. It is what it is. Plus, no matter how sensational, it keeps the story in the headlines. And if Kyron is still alive, that's very important, imo.

Wow!!! I had no idea that the above is what happened. I honestly haven't followed this case as closely as I know many of you have. I am shocked at his need to control. Really! Wow!

Is Kaine related to Sharron Angle? Just a thought.

Thank you for posting that Calliope. It puts a whole new light on this whole case for me.

KH was criticized for his heavy-handed attempt to manage the press in an early presser, and more specifially, for excluding the two biggest print media outlets in Oregon - the Oregonian and The Willamette Weekly. In subsequent pressers and interviews KH has - wisely in my opinion - let DY take the lead in dealing with press.

This is the 2nd WOW. :shocked2: The first WOW was their omission of Kyron, but now its clear the gloves are off!

Thanks for presenting both sides.

He has since made up with them, though.

I just want to put a little note here. There are lots of terms thrown around which refer to the parties involved in this case.

For purposes of sleuthing parties, it is important to understand that our definition may be a little different than yours.

A Player in this case is anyone who we allow you to sleuth. They are generally implicated in some way by main stream media as having a role in the case.

Victims are the family members and their family members who have not been implicated in any way. The victims we do not sleuth.

I'm only making this post to assist you in our definitions in order for you to understand our sleuthing policy. Thanks. Gram
