We are mid-state (CT) and got hammered. It's still snowing. DH is out trying to clear our cars and he is waist deep in it lol. They haven't even plowed the road yet.
Doesn't it seem strange to say we got off easy with only 10 inches of snow?
LOL we just watched our neighbor trying to get her dog to go potty in it, she was waist deep too and had to pick the dog up!
I saw that CT got hammered. Do you guys have a driving ban too? Our road is cleared, they have been out all night going back and forth.
You might try walking them on a leash in a cleared area.Speaking of dogs. Does anyone have any tricks for getting small dogs to do their business outside in the snow (or even rain)?
My lab mix LOVEs the snow. The two mini-doxies (one mine, one my sister's) are the challenge. They are difficult in good weather- in bad weather they just pull and pull toward the door to get back in. We shoveled a path and area for them but they hate it. They are about as low to the ground as you can get, so I'm sure that's part of it.
Storm blankets Northeast with 1 to 3 feet of snow

BOSTON (AP) A howling storm across the Northeast left the New York-to-Boston corridor shrouded in 1 to 3 feet of snow Saturday, stranding motorists on highways overnight and piling up drifts so high that some homeowners couldn't get their doors open. More than 650,000 homes and businesses were left without electricity.
At least three deaths in the U.S. were blamed on the wind-whipped snowstorm, including that of a New York man killed when the tractor he was using to plow his driveway ran off the edge of the road.
More than 38 inches of snow fell in Milford, Conn., and an 82 mph gust was recorded in nearby Westport. Areas of southeastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire got at least 2 feet of snow, with more falling. Portland, Maine, received 29.3 inches, breaking the record set in 1979.............more at link.......
Love that pic of Boston!
Thanks!
Have you seen the kitty yet, Gardenlady? If not, I imagine he sensed the storm coming and found a hiding place somewhere....I've taken care of ferals before and while no snow danger here, when storms came in they would disappear for a couple of days and then come back when it was over to eat...
