I think this lady has some serious mental issues. It is clear that she would had to have paid for the IVF while her mom was behind on mortgage notes. So why did she choose that vs. a roof over the existing kid's heads? I heard they are about 23k behind in payments, I assume that is about what it would have cost (I have no clue I have been told it is somewhere around 25k). I think she wanted the fame and money that having all these babies would give her, not the actual babies themselves.

It blows me away that we even have a story like this in the headlines!!!! I just hope no one bails them out of foreclosure. So many others need help more, she practically decided foreclosure was less important than getting pregnant! What about all the Americans that have lost jobs due to no fault of their own!

Ok I am going to stop ranting now. I pray for these innocent children. They deserve better than this...

I always thought that just because you donated eggs or sperm does not mean you are legally responsible for the children that result. Am I wrong? I thought the purpose of egg or sperm donation was to help people have children, but the donors were not responsible for raising or providing monetary support to the children.

To me that's a different case. If a man donates sperm anonymously to people he doesn't know for the purpose of helping them become parents when they can't on their own, IMO he shouldn't be responsible for their care. He doesn't know who will use his, er, donation and can only assume that it will be someone (preferably a couple) able to be financially, emotionally, and mentally responsible for any resulting children AND that the IVF doc will implant an acceptable number of embryos to lessen the possibility of harm. However, in this case, supposedly this guy KNOWS her and therefore must have some idea of what kind of a baby-crazed loon she is. He reportedly asked her not to use his embryos anymore and knew she already had 6 kids. IMO he wasn't very responsible giving his sperm to someone who isn't financially, emotionally, OR mentally responsible enough to have ONE kid, let alone 14.

I sincerely hope there is some way to track him down and make him pay up. He and her parents and the IVF doc all need to contribute to the care and upkeep of those children - they all made this mess, let them clean it up. Nadya won't do it unless/until she is made to - I hope she has some legal trouble from this.

what's she going to vacuum? the dirt around her car? News has been reporting their (grandparents) house is up for auction and they will all be shortly evicted.

Sorry SallyLu, I know this post oozes of sarcasm. It's not meant for you. I'm just really mad at OctoMom.:blowkiss:

Ha - you only said what I missed saying!!!

Birth certificates are here:

As for the octuplets, no father is listed on the birth certificates. Nadya Suleman signed all eight.

As for the other six kids, four of the docs have David Solomon listed as the dad. The other two have no father listed. But all six kids have Solomon's last name.

I think I'm reading the "original 6" birth certs correctly, I am really curious why Nadya used the name Natalie for the twins. What is this girls real name???

$14 for lip gloss is outrageous. That is 1/2 a can of formula or 1/2 a package of diapers. If you buy store brand diapers, you can get two packs for $14. If you buy Wal-Mart brand formula, you can get a can for $14 (where I live, anyway).

I don't know what MAC is, but I am angry that someone with that much responsibility, who is taking money from taxpayers, is buying lip gloss AT ALL.

A vacuum cleaner I can understand. But still...Target? Go to Wal-Mart and get it cheaper. Or go to Goodwill or Salvation Army and get a used one!

Just wondering if anyone uses cloth diapers anymore? Wouldn't it be cheaper? I know it would add to her (grandma's) workload but it would save money. Do they even sell those anymore? They make great cleaning rags.

They do sell them. They are pricier upfront and you have to use a lot of HOT water to get them clean and germ free. I have seen comparisons where it might be better to use disposables, but, I have also seen that cloth are better if you can use a diaper service - they have the hot water - hotter than most home machines/hot water heaters.

they also have baby diaper services as well, which use cloth.it's cheaper and very convenient,as you just place the used diapers (you have to rinse them first though) in a large hamper type bucket (I think it has some sort of liquid in it),and the diddy man comes by weekly in a truck from the service to pick them up and deliver another set.my sister used them many yrs ago, since her son's skin was bothered by disposable diapers.

Rumor has it (at TMZ.com-- I have not yet learned how to post a wed address) that Octo-mom is looking at purchasing an expensive home with only 4 bedrooms and a backyard pool that may not have a fence around it. If this is the case, them the authorities MUST step in. Fourteen young children and a swimming pool is an accident waiting to happen.

According to her interview with Ann Curry, he donated sperm twice.

Once, before the first child, and she used all the resulting embryos to get her first three children.

She then went back to ask him to donate again and he had to be talked into it because he thought (paraphrasing) "You already have three kids, isn't that enough?"

But he went ahead, and she had two more transfers. The first resulted in one baby, and the second, twins.

She said that after the twins, there were 6 embryos left over, and she had the doctor implant them all this last time.

ETA: Early on, there were reports that he was in law enforcement and when he got married, he asked her not to implant the remaining embryos. I don't know how accurate that report was, or when he got married.

I'm conflicted over how much responsibility to lay on him if he had no control over how many she used, especially if it's true that he wouldn't do it unless Nadya went through hoops to assure him he could remain anonymous and not be held responsible.

(Her father told us this was the case when he told us about her making up his name. Of course, he also said they had another "huge" house no one knows about.)

At this point, I've pretty much resigned myself to believing the kids need to be adopted out.

On another note, I don't think she feels threatened, or she wouldn't be living there or traipsing all over town.

Nadya/Natalie seems to have manipulated the sperm donor. Dr Frankenbaby didn't seem to have a problem tossing 6 embryo's into Nadya/Natalie... Lord!

Okay, in one of the articles Nadya/Natalie says her dad wanted 4 or 5 kids (or something of the like), so is she having kids to fulfill her father's "dreams"? Since he has a huge house where no one can find them (who the hell wouldn't notice their neighbors moving in with 14 kids???) was it Nadya/Natalie's job to fill every square inch of the huge house with kids?

This story is making me crazy!!!

I did check on the website (nadyasuleman.com or whatever it is) and it will allow me to make a donation, I can't leave a message AND the original publicist's name is no longer at the bottom. I can't be sure but I am not sure if the address of where to send donations has changed or not.

Nadya has a little too much fruit in her loop! :blowkiss:

Cleaning rags? LOL. I doubt cleaning rags are even used in that household according to stories of the home's condition.
I'm old enough to remember using cloth diapers. Disposables were new on the market when my babies were born. But, they were very expensive. We used them only when we could afford to take a trip. But the cloth ones were great. I loved hanging them on the clothes line outside, after I got a washer. Even if the weather was cold, I loved the smell of those freshly cleaned diapers. It was a treat to fold them. But, with 8 to diaper, disposables would be more conveinent. Maybe not cheaper but would ease up the work load.
I don't know how many of her at home kids are still in diapers, but can you image Octomom will be spend hours changing diapers just for the 8 babies. It will be like an assembly line. By the time she got to the end of the line of bottoms, she'd have to start over and it would be feeding time again.
Some estimated diaper time:
Guesstimate 8 diaper changes per day times 8 infants = 64 diaper changes.
Guestimate an average of 6 minutes to diaper, (with those fake nails) clean up and change each infant = 384 minutes or 6 and a half hours per day. If my math is correct. (although, I think there will be more than 8 changes a day). She won't have a moment to use that new vaccumm.

Doesn't she have some still in diapers already at home? You have to factor those in too.

I think a lot of people are going back to cloth. I considered it when Baby Mr. E was born a little over a year ago, but there is no diaper service in my town, and with two working parents, I thought it would be just too much to keep up with. I can't even imagine cloth diapers for 8!

I'll bet Nadya hasn't considered buying diapers. She's probably expecting some company to sponsor her or something. And buy her a big house and a van and college scholarships for all the kids. Just like all the other high-profile multiples we've heard of over the past 15 or so years.

TMZ reporting that the house is listed at 1.25 MILLION dollars. The story is they are shooting a tv show with Nadya and using the house to shoot in and that Nadya wants to buy it later.

I truly believe this is a prime example of why we as a community, a nation, a world, should be careful how far we let science go. I firmly believe that we are treading in areas where we should not trespass. I have never, ever, heard of a natural birth that included nearly this many babies. It's just wrong for us to have allowed and applauded science for their advances, when women begin to have litters of babies.

I worked for a judge who was on multiple task forces concerning bioethics. I want to pose a question to you that was posed in one of those task force meetings. It is not exactly on point with this case, but does contain some serious ethical/moral/legal questions:

If a man and a woman have embryos frozen. The man and the woman are tragically, killed simultaneously in an accident. Question: Do their estates inherit the embryos, or do the embryos inherit the estate?

Just kinda gives me a moment when thinking about how "far" we've come.

LOL....get a website...post some cute pix of your kids....you never know what you might collect!

Does she not realize that 14 kids will outgrow a 4 bedroom house, in a snap?

All I can say is "the pool, the pool"... is someone going to watch her 6 older kids around that pool? And how is 4 bedrooms much better than what she has now? This gets crazier every day and I think I've finally had enough. If she moves in I will be worried about her kids every day!!
