Leave the kids out of this. I mean it. It's my pet peeve and this is my second warning. There will not be a third.

This post lands at random.

Thank you. I understand. This is only my second case to follow closely (Michelle Le was my co-worker) and this is different because Allayah is a minor. I'll watch my P's and Q's.

I was hoping at first that she would be found sitting on a rock with an impish grin on her face as if to say "shucks you found me" now let's go play hide and seek again.

It has been 4 days now and she hasn't been found sitting on a rock or under a porch and there have been a lot of searchers covering every square inch of the town.

It is very disappointing to me that they are just now considering the home as a crime scene. And NO I am inferring that anybody in the home is responsible for her disappearance yet I am not giving them a pass either.

No, I didn't expect they'd find her sitting under a porch or on a rock after 4 days. As I said, I have been wondering if she crawled into some place, not 'under' or 'on'. Some place hidden and enclosed. There have been other cases tragic cases where that has happened.

Hi tlcox ... was wondering where you were. What is pizzing me off is that they are just now starting a parallel investigation. They have been concentrating on the river and that she wandered out of the house and landed in the river. This was a sick baby with a fever Friday night according to reports. Sick babies normally don't wander around but are clingy.

Take a look at her picture - what is wrong with this picture and all pictures of her except the one with the Doritos.

My hiatus has been a long one and I have missed WS. I agree that it seems a little late in the game to finally consider that a child who was reportedly ill with a fever didn't suddenly take an urge to wander off. I do not know why LE was not seriously considering the possibility that she did not leave of her own free will til now. I would think that parallel investigation would be SOP til you had some sort of info or indication that one was looking more promising than another.

As to little Aliayah's apparent sadness in the few photos we have seen of her. That troubled me as well, but then I began really studying her face and now I am not convinced she is sad necessarily. She may just have one of those faces that appears down even when not. KWIM? you know how some peoples mouths are slightly downturned, and that is their natural expression in repose? I also notice her eyes turn down slightly on the outer edges which seems to also add to the sad appearance.

So now I am torn - is she a sad, serious, troubled little girl? Or is that simply the way her face is constructed? IDK

My sister went on the search today and she said they are making the family move out. Saw family carrying boxes out and lots of cops in the yard.

FWIW, my 2 year old recently had a fever; after a couple of decent naps, she then BOUNCED OFF THE WALLS all night. She literally slept less than an hour from 11 pm until 11 am the next day. The only meds she had was advil for a sore throat.

I don't necessarily think this little girl wandered off on her own, but I can see it as possible, even if sick.

Thanks Doc! Well, now I officially believe the local press has been told what to say and what not to say.

ETA: Gosh, how traumatic for the children who live there. Wasn't it said they only moved in about a month ago?

If they are making the family move out, it sounds like they are going to tear that house apart looking for any evidence or information about what happened to her. Is it more common for LE to make the family move out when they believe the child was killed in the home or in cases where they believe the child was kidnapped from the home?

Do we know that LE hadn't been seriously considering that possiblity? My impression is that that they were open to any and all possiblities for her disappearance.

She could just be one of those 'thinking' children, and what looks like sadness to some could just be concentration, or being deep in thought. There are a lot of pictures of me and my siblings from that age where we look like we're trying to think up solutions to all the world's problems.

It's likely also that those were the only or best full-view recent photos they had, as opposed to side views or some other angle. With a school-age child it's more likely to have posed pictures.

Hear why??? With a missing child, why would they make the family move out? Who will monitor the other children???

Wow, this tells me that the FBI is really taking over now. It is time that house is investigated for both in-truders and out-truders.

Just guessing but can't imagine they would have to examine top to bottom if they felt someone came in and took her. There are only so many doors and windows.

And, if it's true that mom is in the hospital having her twins I feel bad for Grandma and anybody else that now has to step up and take care of the children. Those older children have to be some mighty upset kids right now. Prayers for them all. Prayers for all who TRULY love Aliayah. How heartbreaking. :(

Moved into house early August I believe it was reported (don't make me look up the link).

Traumatic for the whole family but a necesary step imo. I wouldn't want to stay in that house with the rest of my children if I thought someone came in and took my 3 year old .... no way would I want the rest of my children exposed.

I think they have just as much to look for either way. They're not just looking for a means of entry or exit but for other evidence someone might have left behind--fibers, DNA, prints, etc.

Good night all, prayers going up now that Aliayah will be found...

Cases where LE believes a crime committed in the home. They wouldn't want the family, visitors, etc. to destroy any evidence because it would be a crime scene.

Does anyone know if the family is voluntarily leaving or if LE is forcing them out?
