Well if the home is a possible crime scene, they clearly suspect someone there...JMO

The more that I read the more tangled the 1999 case gets.

Hopefully the local news at 11:00 will have something new to report

So the police/FBI are considering abduction and consider her home a crime scene. I wonder what this entails now? Tape off & go through the house???

Not necessarily. If they suspect possible abduction then that is a crime and the place she was abducted from a crime scene. That does not in and of itself indicate they suspect an occupant.

I will exercise restraint and choose my words carefully til we have more to go on. Right now, I am going to focus my efforts on mapping the area and points of interest to the investigation so that I can occupy a suspicious mind. The hazards of being a ws member, that ever suspicious mind.

It could mean they are looking at this as a possible abduction. I believe Le did mention that.

Officials said the Mountaineer Area Rescue Group will work through Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning to try to find her.

"We want to do our best to make sure we haven't missed anything so we're going back over," Special Agent John Hambrick of the FBI said.

Thanks Dee10 for this article They are considering the home a crime scene now too. Why does it take 4 days to figure out that a sick 3 year old would rather be home than out wandering around the neighborhood.

This is making me sick. FBI is taking a larger lead role now too.

That's not true. A crime scene is the place where a crime has occurred or may have occurred. Labeling a home as a crime scene doesn't mean that someone who lives there must be responsible.

I hope they processed the home as a potential crime scene before now...JMO

There has been a lot of speculation about whether or not someone could have entered the house with all those people there and not be heard. Ive had a house over full before and you get so use to hearing so many sounds throughout the night, this one or that one in the fridge, going to the bathroom, etc.. that it is possible an intruder came in and no one noticed the noise. Probable? I dont really think so.. but it is possible. Isnt this exactly what happened with Kienan recently?

Hi tlcox ... was wondering where you were. What is pizzing me off is that they are just now starting a parallel investigation. They have been concentrating on the river and that she wandered out of the house and landed in the river. This was a sick baby with a fever Friday night according to reports. Sick babies normally don't wander around but are clingy.

Take a look at her picture - what is wrong with this picture and all pictures of her except the one with the Doritos.

About the lake, in 1999 it was different, resort was not there yet. When I moved to the area in 2000, it was not yet open. Can't remember exactly what year it opened, but I do remember people talking about trying to get jobs there when it opened. Some of the roads around the lake have changed. We used to go swimming near a boat dock that is no longer there.

I am having a hard time when these missing child cases come up, because I just don't like prying into families. Until LE names a family member as a suspect or POI, I just don't like getting into their business. It's hard to read.

At any rate, I keep going back and forth between whether I think she just wandered off or was abducted. Despite the home being called a crime scene, I'm still leaning toward wandering off--although not necessarily to the water. I'm remembering a case from years ago, and wondering if she crawled into some place not that far from home.

Found it, the resort was completed in 2002.

It would make sense why the FBI is stepping up their end of the game and why they were out there so early with a presence, IMO.

I hear you martham, I'm glad LE has finally decided that the house needs to be searched for evidence of a kidnapper. Hopefully they will find something along these lines soon and it will bring the baby home. This poor family.

So much time has already passed. I am really hoping we are going to have a happy ending.

Leave the kids out of this. I mean it. It's my pet peeve and this is my second warning. There will not be a third.

This post lands at random.

I was hoping at first that she would be found sitting on a rock with an impish grin on her face as if to say "shucks you found me" now let's go play hide and seek again.

It has been 4 days now and she hasn't been found sitting on a rock or under a porch and there have been a lot of searchers covering every square inch of the town.

It is very disappointing to me that they are just now considering the home as a crime scene. And NO I am inferring that anybody in the home is responsible for her disappearance yet I am not giving them a pass either.
