Just did a Google News Search for Aliayah. Very few news source have picked up the story. The only national ones are NG and CNN. And I'm pretty sure the CNN article wasn't even on the front page of the website, just in the Justice section.

aliayah lunsford - Google Search

I was just searching on HLN/CNN ... below are some links for CNN and others I found, and I hope these links work:

:( All I want is for us to see this precious baby alive, safe and smiling right now eating a big bag of Doritos. Is this too much to ask for?

Sigh.

Sorry, but can you let me know what you mean by where, and what conclusions this leads you to draw? Not trying to be rude, just can't figure it out for myself!

I think the "where" is prison, where she was reportedly born while her mother was incarcerated.

If she wins, she is going to donate all of her winnings to missing children. I do not watch DWTS but I was hopeful she would win. Her cause is worthy.

O/T I guess...... but I am not sure what good a mirror ball trophy is going to do for missing kids.....that is ALL the stars get as a prize for winning. Now, she might be talking about whatever appearance fees they get per week as long as they remain on the show....but as far as her stating she would give the money away THAT SHE WINS.....don't know what she is trying to do with that statement at all.

Would his be an area the mom drove around looking for Aliyah?

It looks to me it's "down river" from where the dogs tracked her scent to the riverbank.

Anyone have a link to the police scanner?

The thing that bothers me the most about the 2 hr drive is that this was a 3 yr old. Did Mom really think a 3 yr old would wander off and stick to the roads and cross at all intersections?

My sister did when she was 3- she took off on her tryke headed for her grandmothers house a couple miles away some lady even helped her to cross the busy street- granted this was years ago but her father use to take off down the train tracks when he was that age- guess is must be a family wandering gene or something. (i have a different father so way different genes. lol)

My maternal family all come from West Virgina so I can understand the socio-economic issues of the area.

People with higher income tend to see LE and others in authority as good and helpful because most of their interactions are positive-
Those with much lower income tend to have more negative interactions with LE so they don't immediatly turn to them for help.
The family has more than likely had dealings with DSHS (mom having a criminal past makes that probable) the last thing someone who has had to deal with that wants to do is give the state any reason to investigate or take the other kids away- or give reasons for the other kids fathers (those who are aware they are fathers) to claim custody.

None of the above are excuses just honest reasons why this mother might not have reacted the way you or I would.

Then there is the simple explanation that some people do not handle emergency's well.

Do you know what "highrise" they may be referring to?

Peterson school is down past Wal-Mart off of 33 on Berlin Road, north part of town. Roanoke is the elementary school for part of the the south side of town. It's past the resort.
Don't know why John St is blocked off. One of the neighbor's kids lives up that way, can ask her in awhile if she knows.
It's probably not related, but will see if I can find out.
