:blushing: :blushing: Thank you so much Tricia & Gardenmom. I must admit that it feels great to think that we just might have helped a family get some answers. If this does not turn out the way that we think it will then we just have some more work ahead of us.

Well after many delays and much frustration, the DNA sample has finally been collected from the sister of Deloris Melton. Now we wait for the comparison with the Greenbrier county UID.

I've got my fingers crossed and I'm doing a lot of hoping and praying.

I was contacted by Virginia, Deloris Melton's sister this week. The DNA results are in and the WV UID is not a match to her sister. Please keep Virginia and the other family members of Deloris in your prayers and keep Deloris in your mind as you search through all of the UID's out there.

For now the question remains. Who is this young woman whose remains were found tossed over an embankment near the Alta exit of I-64 near Lewisburg,WV?

I don't get it.

Do we have a separate thread for Deloris on here?

If not, we should start one....now that these are not related.

I just don't get it....looks matched, area, circumstances, timing, descript of teeth, clothing. :waitasec:

being from WV, I just can't let these unid'ed people out of my head. so, I've been looking at them again.

Just through a random "look around" I came upon Linda Evans Lunsford missing from Chesterfield County VA in 1996. She somewhat reminded me of the body in Greenbrier that was found in 2001.

Here are the links:
http://www.wvstatepolice.com/greenunknown.htm

http://www.doenetwork.us/cases/1541dfva.html

Looking at a map, the area of Linda's disappearance could be a somewhat direct (although not short) route to where the body was found.

Also, since the body that was id'ed turned out to be from Beckley, what about Cherice? Her bone structure in her face does not seem to be so thin, but ...
http://www.wvstatepolice.com/children/cherice.htm

I am not as good at this as some of you folks and wanted to get some ideas.

This was my quote under my previous name.

Under the circumstances of Deloris not being a match (and, darn, she looked like an exact), I will resubmit my idea of Linda Lunsford.

I haven't looked at her lately, but at the time I posted this, I liked the idea???

Where Cherice Gwinn-Stephens is anybody's guess, But appear's they still think she is in the Rt 3, Rt99, Rt85 Boone County area because to this day they have her missing person's photo up on a lot of tree's and power poles in that area.

I heard that her husband use to work in that area, That just hearsay

I use to know her family back in the 70's but I lost touch with them it was just her grandparent's mainly and I have no idea even if they still living..

While looking for a connection elsewhere I came across the same West Virginia based website posted above. The reconstruction details are are very vague and I am looking into more information about the WV-Jane Doe; however I see a resemblance between the recon and Deloris Melton. I see a distinct difference in the jaws, but with little else to go on what do you think?

She looks like a pretty good possible match. I can see the resemblance in facial structure. And her jaws aren't that far off IMO.

Her height and age are right. There are alot of open questions (e.g., Has she Born Children?, Did she smoke?, was she left handed?, which front tooth was chipped?), but nothing that would tell me it's not her.

In Deloris' profile it mentions a son and a chipped tooth (albeit not which tooth); which is what caught my attention right away. The recons jaw looks "pointy" to me while Deloris' looks round; but the rest lines up IMO

The link for the UID is on NAMUS as well https://identifyus.org/cases/2159

Two rule-outs listed

Mary Geneva Friend -1954 West Virginia
Sheila Lyon -1962 Maryland

* With Deloris not ruled out I did fire an email to the case manager listed on the Namus link; I'll keep you posted
