According to WSAZ the search will begin in the morning. What I think is strange-they tried to contact her family and they hadn't returned their calls. Speaks VOLUMES to me...

I use to live in Mingo Co and have family who live just a couple miles from Laurel Lake and other family members who are actively searching for the woman. At this point there are a lot of rumours and speculation. Alledgedly, she had a handy-man and he said he heard her leave through the night, but she didn't take her personal belongings including her cigarettes and lighter. They apparently have a decent timeline because of her babysitting someone's child and phonecalls.

Arrests have been made. I wasnt able to link to Williamson Daily News. Donald Kevin Medly 45, who was living in the same residence and reported her missing, has been arrested along with his brother. He confessed to beating and choking her. I didnt know her personally but have 19 FB friends in common and from reading, I gather that she was very loved by many friends and family.

Donald read and signed an Interview and Miranda Rights form and then admitted that on Dec. 30, he became angry with the victim and struck her in the face and then choked her until she was dead. It further stated that he continued to strike her repeatedly in the face after she was deceased. He then loaded her body into the vehicle, telephoned his brother and asked for assistance, drove to Laurel Lake and proceeded to shove the SUV into the water.

Wonder if he has a previous history of DV or other assault?

As to motive.. maybe there was something in that FB location change. Perhaps she was planning a move and he didn't like it.

On the surface Laurel Lake is serene and tranquil, but what sonar detected below is anything but.

"Really spooky -- thinking about someone in the neighborhood actually doing something like that," said a woman who lives nearby who didn't want to be identified.

A missing woman who was murdered was found in the depths of Laurel Lake.

It was just up the road from the lake where Evelyn Farnum lived but went missing on December 30th.

Early Sunday afternoon, her black SUV was pulled out of the lake with her body still inside.

"We're the kind of type that everybody knows everybody, you know what I'm saying, everybody trusts everybody," said the unidentified neighbor.

In an interesting twist, the man who reported her missing was her boyfriend and third cousin, Donald Medley, who was charged with murder on Saturday night after police say he confessed to killing Farnum.

"They had gotten into a fight, he became angered with her -- supposedly grabbed her, choked her to death and struck her in the face," said Trooper J.J. Dean of the West Virginia State Police.

Medley then called his brother, Gregory, for help. Police say they pushed her body and SUV into the murky lake but a witness later came forward to tip off troopers.

"Those people they should suffer for what they've done -- and they will in their own way -- but, it's something you don't think would happen around here, but it did," said the unidentified neighbor.

And while the community is left to understand why, the brothers sit in jail.
