Details of Disappearance
Shinn was last seen at Wedgewood Apartments behind the West Ripley Shopping Plaza in Ripley, West Virginia on June 15, 2003. He has never been heard from again. At the time of his disappearance, he was staying with his brother and sister-in-law and their children.

There have been rumors that Shinn fell or was pushed into Mill Creek, which was running high at the time from flooding, but none of the stories have been confirmed and Shinn's disappearance remains unsolved.

The Facebook group is definitely worth a read! Looks like the family and LE probably know what happened and 1 of the suspects is dead. Then the group of people he was with that night say he ran away from his family as they were druggies.

Could this be him? This doe was found about 40 or 50 miles downriver in water that connects to Mill Creek a month after Nick disappeared. If there are dental records for Nick anywhere they could do a comparison or possibly dna now that some time has elapsed and technology has improved. If Nick has any male relatives on his paternal line and they read this, if you could take a home dna test and submit the results to GedMatch they might be able to compare that way if this doe is in their database or if there is another doe somewhere out there that matches Nick.
