GUILTY WV - Sheila 'Kathy' Goble, 62, Charleston, 24 April 2010

I'm almost afraid to ask, but what do you suppose was causing the hole to keep caving in?

Does anyone know how far Kathy's car was found from where her body was found?

It would depend upon which route you took. I used the address listed in MSM of where her body was found and the address of the Tri State Greyhound Race Track in Cross Lanes, WV (it was near the mile marker on the interstate highway where the car was found): entered both into mapquest. The shortest route is 26.5 miles.

Hope I did that right. It seems that the mileage should be much shorter when you look at those two locations on a map.

Where did she work?

I just found it interesting that a co worker found he car and that co worker was female and then a co worker is accused of her murder who is male. So I know they are completely different people. How odd .

She worked at Kelley's Mens Shop. She had worked there for 10 years and he had worked there for 30 years.

I think the area of I 64 that her car was found on is further west than the exit to the store, closer to Winfield/Teays Valley area than to Charleston itself. Kelley's is visible from the exit coming off 64 Eastbound. It's been in Charleston for many years.
Such a gruesome gory story.

According to a release, a body was found at March's home at 12713 Ohio Avenue in Chesapeake about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies have reason to believe the remains are those of Goble. Sources tell WSAZ.com the body was found in a shallow grave near the home.

What have we learned about this case that will help us solve cases in the future?

It is a creepy case for sure. The suspect (if we can still call him that-the body was found in his yard), continued to work at the same store even after Kathy's disappearance. He worked there for 30 years. I can't imagine what kind of monster could continue on with his everyday life, like nothing happened.

For those of you unfamiliar with the case, Kathy worked at the same Men's suit shop.

The body was located because the suspect's son was digging in the yard. Supposedly, he was investigating why the yard was sinking in. I, along, with locals who have been sounding off on message boards, believe that the son suspected his father all along, was bothered by the hole in the yard, and spurred to action by all the media coverage on the 2 year anniversary of Kathy's death and decided it was time to look in that hole!

Bravo. It's tough to think the worst of those we love and even tougher to act on it.

There are still so many unanswered questions about this case:

- Why did she leave her "friend's" to go meet March? (Or was March at her friend's or was there some connection between the two?) Is it possible that March was the "friend" (after all, police interviewed him 3 times for some reason) and the friend-bf link (I think based on them both living on Kenna Dr) was coincidental or misreporting?

- Why didn't her friend report her missing if (as it seems) he (or she, if friend isn't euphemistic for her bf) actually had nothing to do with what happened? He had to think it was weird she left her purse/phone and never came back to get it...

- Why did this guy suddenly kill his co-worker of 10 years?

- How did March get the car to the side of the road and then get back to his house?

- When all obvious signs pointed to the bf and the press was certainly skeptical of the bf, it seems like LE/family members were not (at least not publicly)... If the "friend" wasn't the bf, why did LE never confirm that? Why did LE never rule out the bf? Why did LE provide no theory at all of the case and no info about her cell phone logs, etc, etc?

Basically: WTH? I hope more info is eventually forthcoming.

The main thing I'm getting from this is that there needs to be more effort to getting the word out to people that if something is hinky to them, ACT on it! Yes?

Great questions! I really want to know what the deal was with the co-worker! This is the third case I know of where a co-worker murdered his female co-worker. I think that needs to be brought up as a possibility in future cases for sure.

Sheriff Mike Rutherford says March's son is not a suspect and believes March acted alone.

"His son was very upset about this and we have no indication at all that he may be involved at all," Sheriff Mike Rutherford said.

Police say the initial investigation shows that Goble and March were nothing more than coworkers.

While police say March did give them a motive, they still need to search every angle of an unraveling crime scene.

I wish they would reveal the motive.

THANK YOU LORD for revealing some of the answers in this sad case. I am especially grateful that her family and friends are not left searching forever. I think this case once again illustrates why LE always must start looking at the people closest to the missing person. Of course everyone here at WS understands that, but others outside of our specific interest may not. I would think the best investigations revolve around painstakingly examining the alibis of the circles of friends and family surrounding anyone who goes missing. Easier said than done or paid for, I know. :(

At any rate, bravo to the son.
