BeanE I think you have a pretty good grasp. The one thing to point out from what I've heard and read(I'm a local) is that the car was spotted on the side of the road as early as 9:30 AM on Sunday. All the different news articles online say different times.

I've also read that her co-workers became worried when she didn't show up for work, but I don't know if they contacted the police or if it was her children.

I really wish LE would release a few more details. I shop at that Walmart and a few things have happened in that area lately that make me a bit uneasy to go there alone. I think from what has been pieced together though, nothing happened there and something happened at the house she visited in So. Charleston or shortly after.

ETA: I have a day mixed up. I thought her car was found on Sunday, but I guess it was Monday. All of the local reports seem to have different details.

I'm from the area also. I thought the car was found on Sunday too. Do you agree it is odd that noone saw anything on that particular stretch of interstate? Me and my family often shop at that Walmart also and I would like some more info as well.

BeanE as far as I can tell you have it right. There hasn't been much reported on this case as far as new info goes since last week.

Has there been any news of LE taking Fred in for questioning? I mean, it would seem he would HAVE to have an explaination for why she left his home without any of her things!??!
And, didn't I read they had been dating for more than a year? Why is her ex-husband the one giving the interviews? Seems they would ask the guy she was actually with about her mindset and characteristics....seems like they would ask the person she was last seen with before the ex, not that he hasn't been very helpful and complementary of his exwife.
The ONE thing that makes me not suspect Fred is that he's been dating her for so long. It would seem like, if he were crazy or violent in some way, she would have been tipped off before now.....an ex of Fred's or his own children (Does he have any?) would have said something, come forward.
Really wondering what that arrest was for and if it was for this Fred. Hmm..I wasn't able to find anything.

It really depends. The car was found near Winfield which is a long way from Walmart. Traffic through that area is usually congested during the day. It gets bad before you hit Cross Lanes because of the dog track. If the car was left there in the middle of the night or early in the morning it might not be noticed--especially on a Sunday morning. Since we know it was there by 9:30 am Sunday, it was probably left in the middle of the night.

I've really been surprised by the lack of news about this. :(

I haven't heard a thing about Fred other than he's cooperating. When I first heard the story, my understanding was that she'd picked up some things at Walmart and gone to the home of a "relative" of Fred's. It made me think she picked up groceries or something for one of his children possibly.

Investigators say tips are trickling in but at this point they don't have enough information to find Goble.

Okay, this is the same stretch of interstate that exits into Teays Valley right? If it is OMG I hate this road it is so hard to merge and exit due to large trucks traveling fast. But, I do know what you mean about being not traveled in the middle of night.

I have been surprised too about the lack of news on this story too. WSAZ has been covering it so far pretty well I think. I wish we could hear something from the boyfriend but, I can understand that he would want his privacy but, still wish we could get more info. JMO

You know if you are from this area you know you do not leave your vehicle beside the road because most likely when you return for it the car has been vandalized or worse stolen. I don't think she left her car there especially since LE say there was nothing wrong with it. Does anyone have any theories how it got there?

And 4 wheelers don't drive fast ? What do truckers hammered down have to do with this case?

Oh Ruby, Honey I didn't mean anything by that toward truckers. I drive a little car and I just get scared sometimes when big trucks are on 3 sides of me. I really didn't mean anything toward you. I am sorry Peace?

I was probably just too sensitive about it, sorry. I just hope someone on the road that night saw something.

Sometimes I think someone dumped the car there, and then I think that is an odd place to dump one, to risky of being seen.

I hope someone saw something too. We don't seem to be getting any new news about the case that is alarming. I don't want this poor ladies story to fade away without anyone finding out what has happened.

Why would she leave all those items at a friends house, that does not make sense to me.

I think that if the car was dumped there it would have taken 2 people you know what I mean? And the fact that there was nothing wrong with her car leads me to believe that she didn't just leave it there because, if she wanted to ride somewhere else with someone (if it was me ) and there was a park and ride around or a exit I would have parked my car there. Does that make sense?

As far as her items that she purchased being left behind that is not a good sign as far as I am concerned,JMO I might grab my wallet out of my purse and run down the road real fast and leave my purse behind but I would also grab my cell. Would never leave those 2 things behind unless I was in distress.IMO

It makes total sense. Who decides that at mm 42, they are going to park on the shoulder, and walk away from a perfectly drivable vehicle.

Candi, At that spot is there anyway for someone to dump it there and go through woods or something to another area?

I'm not really sure. Within the next week I am hoping to get over that way to check it out. I kinda wish they would show the spot on the news so everyone on here could see it but so far all I have seen on the news is Kelly's Mens Shop. Where this is a mountain st the possibility of someone being able to go through the woods is highly likely the interstate is between 2 mountains and in many places there are hills with dirt road ways around them. We also have alot of trails in this state for dirt bikes and 4 wheelers and other atvs so that is why I would love to go and see what is around mm42.

If she had of had her belongings with her I might have thought that maybe she was pulled over by a fake cop or something but, where her stuff wasn't with her I kinda don't think so.

Yes, it's the interstate that runs between Charleston and Huntington. I'll be honest in that the road doesn't bother me at all. Of course, I've lived in places with much worse traffic and roads.

Considering the spot where the car was left, I think the person who dumped it had to have help. From what I've gathered, there was no reason for her to be on that road(she lived in Charleston and worked in Charleston.) It was left 2 miles from an exit. No one is going to abandon a car and then walk 2 miles. So, someone left the car there and someone picked them up and drove them away from there.

Anything new in this case?

This is very, very sad. I hope the police get to the bottom of it soon.
