Found Deceased WY - Aubree Corona, 28, did not return to campsite, Sublette County, 13 Jul 2019

Wow. I’ve followed this case from the beginning, but haven’t been able to post for a while due to real life stuff. I was so hoping that I would log in to find Aubree found safe! Thank you all for keeping her thread going. Her loved ones are in my thoughts, and I hope that you can bring her home soon.

The LE read the texts Aburee sent and made a determination for themselves as they are trained to do. No one could have influenced the LE if they follow their training and procedures that are put in place from a higher level of government than the boyfriends family members.

Hi GATOR30. Welcome to WS and thank you for coming here. Sorry it is under these circumstances.

How can we help? I’m going back to catch up on the thread now as I’m behind. I can’t believe Aubree is still missing...

Also as @Gardener1850 mentioned, it’s a good idea to get verified. That way you don’t have to provide links etc, there are a lot of advantages. It’s a fairly easy process I think. I think you’ll find a nice group of helpful folks here. We care about the missing a lot. Please let us know how we can help.

ETA: Just saw this:

Anyone with information should contact the police

August 15, 2019

It's been a month since Green River resident Aubree Corona went missing, and yet it appears authorities don't have any more information than when she disappeared.

Aubree Shanae Corona, 28, was last seen July 13 by her friends when she left their campsite near New Fork Lake. She was driving a dark gray 2005 Chevy Avalanche with a red and white Honda CRF 450R motorcycle in the back.

....

According to information from the Sublette County Sheriff's Office flyer, Aubree ended up on the Dubois side of Union Pass. She was supposed to return to camp, but never did.

Karen said Aubree spoke to a logger who was driving down the mountain and asked him for directions. He told officers he asked Aubree to follow his vehicle down the road and he would show her the road to Dubois. When he got to the end of the road, her vehicle was no longer behind him. The logger reported this to police.

...

According to Karen, that was the last anyone had seen of her or so she thought. Last week, she was informed that an employee at a convenience store in Dubois recognized Aubree and told officers she had bought a couple of items and asked for directions back to the campsite. The employee told officers she seemed anxious and frustrated over getting lost so he showed her routes to take to get back to the campsite other than the route she had just taken. He then gave her a map.

...
Karen said Aubree was always active on her social media accounts. As for credit cards or debit cards, Aubree didn't have any. Karen said they also asked the Sublette County Sheriff's Office to check the vehicle's OnStar, but for some reason they were unsuccessful. Karen took matters into her own hands and called OnStar herself, after being transferred numerous times, she talked to someone who could help her. She was informed that at some point the vehicle had activated OnStar, but it has since been disabled. Karen asked the OnStar employee what that meant. The OnStar employee wouldn't tell her, so she looked it up on the internet and discovered to disable OnStar a fuse in the vehicle would have to be pulled out or certain wires would need to be cut. However, the OnStar employee could not tell when it was disabled.

According to a press release from the Fremont County Sheriff's Office, on July 15 the investigation started and a two-day, search-and-rescue mission was conducted in the Union Pass area. Both Sublette and Fremont counties searched with ATVs and used a helicopter to try and locate the vehicle. While the investigation continues, the searches have stopped.

The family searches

Karen and family members continue to search for Aubree. They have searched the entire area themselves, including roads from Pinedale to Jackson, Jackson to Dubois, both sides of the mountain she was last seen at, Dubois to Lander, Riverton area, South Pass and Atlantic City. They have found nothing.

Good idea to wait until you’re verified. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer, it can get very busy around here sometimes as you can probably imagine.

Agree I have been waiting for 3 weeks

This might be a good case for Texas Equusearch.

About TXEQ

But in order for TES to come in, they will need a request from family, as I understand it. They will work in conjunction with LE as far as getting an idea of what vicinity to search.

The best thing to do would be to contact Tim Miller directly.

Just an idea, I’m still catching up here in the thread.

Hmmm, ok let me try sending a PM to the mods. I know that @Tricia and WS get a lot of emails a day, I’ll send a heads up via pm and see if it that may help. Hang in there. :)

ETA: Ok done. Going back to catch up now.

ETA2:
As for where Aubree may be, we have played what seems like an endless series of horrible scenarios in our minds! While countless hours have been spent searching both sides of the mountain and we're fairly sure Aubree is not on the surface (still wondering about lakes) of the mountain, we still wonder did we miss something, was there an area we didn't look, could she somehow have gotten over on the Native American reservation where we were not allowed to search? Did she somehow find a way to get into the wilderness area surrounding the campgrounds? Was she not paying attention when she stopped for gas and directions and someone slipped into the passenger seat and she did not notice until it was too late? Is she still even in Wyoming... the thoughts never stop! We are desperate to find any information that may point is in the right direction to find Aubree! Her children are devastated! Her 7 y/o cries for her and her 3 y/o asks if we're going to look for mommy. All of our hearts are just broken

Montanagirl15,

My strong recommendation is to contact Tim Miller at Texas Equusearch. See what Tim says. Also, they are very experienced with sonar and water searches.

ETA3:

I came upon a vehicle accident one time many years ago. The trick was literally up in the trees. You could barely see it.

I remember the case of Tanya Rider—-she had an accident but searchers passed up her vehicle many times because it was so well hidden by shrubbery.

Thank you @margarita25 for contacting one of the mods about the verification. I didn't know if that was appropriate for me to do, but I know @Misssophia1 has been here since nearly the beginning of the case, and having her verified soon if possible would be helpful to all.

Do we have a case map and timeline going here yet? Tia.

ETA: I’m looking at the gas station where she got directions and zooming out, it appears that’s some hella proximate terrain in many regards...National Forests, etc...elevation...

I wonder if Rocky Mountain SAR (CO) might have some volunteers who could help.

For the family and friends of Aubree that are following here I want to applaud your efforts so far in making flyers and physically getting out there to search for Aubree. Don't give up!

Keep getting the word out about Aubree being missing. The more people who are aware the better. Someone might come forward and say they saw her or the truck going in a certain direction or stopping somewhere else after the gas station stops and that could change the entire direction of the search. Here is a list of places to try to get flyers distributed:
http://www.4themissing.net/uploads/5/8/7/1/5871085/where_to_put_flyers_flyer_distribution.pdf

Since your search area is HUGE, I think getting volunteers that live in the various areas will be very important. Social media is a good way to get local volunteers to spread the missing flyer. Ask them to post at the specific places/businesses listed.

Another idea for you to consider is to hold a public vigil. Getting a group of people together thinking of and praying for Aubree and talking about who she is can help mobilize volunteers and get media attention. The more she is in the media the better chances are that anyone who saw her and knows something will come forward. A vigil can also give family a chance to come together, support one another and show solidarity during a a difficult time. Everyone wants the same goal-- for Aubree to be found.

(Thanks goes to @PommyMommy for sharing the above link on another thread :))

Was there a suggestion that LE had been influenced? As Aubree's family we were not aware of that information! Why did someone think they had been influenced?

Thank-you SO MUCH for all of the suggestions! We are doing our best to try to keep Aubree's information out there! All it is going to take is that one person, who may not even realize they might have a vital piece of information, to step forward and share that information that might allow us to find Aubree and bring her home! We had not thought of a vigil! That is a wonderful idea! Thank-you!

I sent in verification information as soon as I'm verified I will tell you how day she went missing went down with full honesty
Welcome GATOR30! As members of Aubree's family we are looking forward to hearing first-hand how July 13th unfolded from your perspective. Any information we have regarding that day has come from LE and per LE we were instructed not to go to your camp. Hopefully, sharing information via this format, will enable us to work together to bring Aubree home to us, her family, and all those who love her!

  • #498
When LE tells you to stay put (at their office) and not go looking to help her get back, you do what your told.
We were told as well not to go searching for Aubree as LE did not want to have to do a secondary search if one of us got lost. But she is our daughter, sister, niece, cousin, etc. we could not stand by just waiting, hoping someone else might find her. She was lost, possibly hurt or worst. WE had to go look for her regardless of what LE said. We could not have ever forgiven ourselves if we did not do our very best as a family to find her. If we had not done our own methodical search we would have always wondered what, if anything, was missed. We HAD to try to find her and I think LE understood.

Im my opinion miscommunication between family's and prob anger... in my opinion bf's family was prob told what to do by LE and maybe that wasnt completely relayed back to other family.. i have no idea where she could be.. but going by news articles she isnt on that mountain

just FYI when replying to a post, hit 'quote' then 'reply' and type the response in the same box below the post, then hit 'post reply'
you've been submitting two separate posts for one reply
hope that helps
