I took a break for a few to clear my mind this is intense…they have access to the phones? Did they find BL?

He hasn’t been found yet. And I don’t think police found their phones. I found a source from 21 hours ago saying it wasn’t found.

I know : ) I was born and lived in Florida until I was 30ish. But, he's desperate and would likely take desperate measures to hide regardless of bugs, snakes, gators, etc. IMO.
Was thinking that too I’m a Floridian now no way would I ever go hide in the woods!!!

Scammers capitalize off Gabby Petito's disappearance

NORTH PORT, Fla. – As people across the country hope for Gabby Petito’s safe return, scammers could be capitalizing on her disappearance.

NBC2 has found at least four GoFundMe pages asking for money to help bring Gabby home. One poster claims to be connected to the family and that one has more than $45,000 donated.

Other posts on GoFundMe don’t even spell Gabby’s name correctly.

I just don’t believe that only because a person goes missing they can access their phone. There is more they must have. People can and do go voluntarily missing every day. They have exigency circumstances or they have a warrant. Plain and simple.

Sources-

Police need warrant or ‘exigent circumstances’ to ping cell phones, Supreme Judicial Court rules

Can Police Track Your Cell Phone Without a Warrant?

He went into a flooded wildlife area. He’s in danger. Voluntarily missing or not. That gives them the ability to get records. No different than an avalanche victim. They would track their phone to find them.
They may only be able to get location data (not messages, etc.)

my son is on the k9 team, he will tell you out of all the searches he has been on at no time has he been called in because the parents of a 23 year old man hadnt seen him for 3 days but when he left he told them he was going hiking. what happened to, he is a adult and can go hiking if he wants to? this is why there is something more going on that we are not privvy too, no way they would be searching like this for a grown adult that is just away on hike....

Gabby Petito: Police searching for her fiancé, family says he's been missing for days: LIVE UPDATES (foxnews.com)
Police prepared for 'agitated' encounter with Laundrie

North Port police are prepared for “the worst,” including a possibly agitated encounter with Brian Laundrie.

A combined task force of the North Port Police Department, FBI and related agencies entered the Carlton Reserve Saturday morning. Officers and agents entered the heavily wooded area wearing body armor after Laundrie’s parents reported him missing since Tuesday and named the reserve as his possible last known location.

“I think you always prepare for the worst and hope for the best,” North Port spokesperson Josh Taylor told Fox News. “You have to have your guard up, you have that potential.

”When asked if officers expect Laundrie to be agitated, Taylor said, “Have you been following the news? Yea.”

Truth. If he's offed himself it could have been prevented. All he had to do was cooperate with LE questioning, he would probably be in deep doo but alive.
Yes, and a son in jail is better than a dead one.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that sees this. People can do what they please. They can choose to cut off communication with everyone if they want. That doesn’t bring out the search parties. They most definitely have more.

We've been speculating about possible mental health issues but his parents may have confirmation of the same and provided information to LE. If you add up all the pieces I think LE would consider him endangered.

If they can track where his phone was versus her phone around that timeframe of the 26th-9/1 that will be telling to see if the phones pinged together. Considering the mother did not think the text from Gabby that was sent on the 27th and 30th were from her. Yes all of the above with google and cloud although it's my understanding those records can take a very long time to get.

But would LE devote this much time if they thought he was voluntarily missing? I'm at a loss as to the police spending so much time looking for him unless they are classifying him as endangered. It seems LE is still saying he is not wanted.
My opinion in regards to the resources being spent on his search is LE believe he holds the key to finding Gabby. He is their only lead. Whether or not they should be putting all their eggs in one basket remains to be seen.

An eye witness confirms the van at the park abt. 5-6pm on the 25th. It sounds very credible to me. They do have boots on the ground in Wyoming.

i would hope he didn't commit suicide. Typically when someone takes that course of action they want to be found. If someone did that while having the forethought of not being found, well....

It doesn't sound as if the two sets of parents have a particularly harmonious relationship. This may have pre-dated Gabby's disappearance. imo

Just an observation, for what its worth.
Haven't seen anything out there about the parents' relationship before this, good or bad. My immediate thought when I read his parents wouldn't reply to hers that early on is that they must have already heard from Brian and they were already protecting him.

If they do have both phones then it could be possible that Brian (or family) were monitoring communications (suspicions) from Gabby's parents and friends. Like "hey where are you", "why are you not responding", "are you OK", etc. I know it sounds dumb to turn on the phone to check stuff like that, but curiousity often gets the better of people.

I will wait and see if they really do have the phones. I am not surprised that it took that long to find the phones, there is a whole process they would have to go through even if his family was cooperating. Add in the delays because of their lack of cooperation and I can see how it would take this long. Don't be mad at LE, be mad at these people.
