…except that was just a random ride with a stranger that he couldn’t have known would come to light later. Also, he made no real use of an alibi when it mattered. He returned to Florida and said nothing. He wouldn’t even talk to the cops, let alone explain why he returned alone.

He knew, though, there would be questions that would have to be answered at some point - or used by an attorney as a defense.

Like I said in a previous thread, everything we "know" about BL's whereabouts after about the 25th (maybe the 29th if that TikToker is to be believed) is based on what his parents claim -- that he even came to Florida himself, that he was with them until Tuesday, that Tuesday was the last they saw him and he was going to the Carlton Reserve, etc. As far as I've been able to tell from what we've seen in these fast-moving threads, NO ONE other than his parents have laid eyes on him in Florida, including LE. He really could be anywhere. It's so frustrating, to say the least.

At daybreak on Sunday, officers will resume the search for Laundrie in the 25,000-acre Carlton Reserve near North Port. Meanwhile, thousands of miles away, the FBI continues to search for Petito in a mountainous national park in Wyoming.

Laundrie, 23, had returned to their shared North Port home alone on September 1, before Petito's family reported her missing. He is a person of interest over Petito's disappearance but is not wanted for any crime, police say.

I wish I could see this on a map with the timeline adding the van sighting. Like how far was it from where he was picked up by Miranda? Didn't he say he'd been camping by himself for 4 days? He was picked up on 29 Aug.

As far as I’m concerned, BL’s parents should be in an interrogation room answering questions. They have answers. Their son is a POI in a missing persons case. I get wanting to protect your kid but this is beyond that at this point. He possibly killed his girlfriend. A girl who lived with them and was going to be a part of their family. All the hemming and hawing they are doing just makes all of them look like a family of psychopaths. No empathy. No concern. Just thinking about themselves. Brian is on the run and it looks like they helped him get a head start. <modsnip> Throw charges at the parents. Make them take responsibility for everything they’ve done since BL came home and told them whatever story as to why he is home with GP’s van and no Gabby. <modsnip> Find Brian. Let’s get Gabby home. Let’s shut down the circus this whole situation has turned in to.

Here is what I am wondering.Was the tent in the van when he returned to Florida?If not,it means she was with him on that long hike near Snake river and left her
there and hiked back to the van in a hurry to get back to the van before she did.Which is why he offered $200 for a 10 minute ride.
He was desperate to get back to that van before she did.He knew she wouldn't drive the van home as we know she didn't like to drive it and she would have had to leave it behind to get a ride home.He worried about the van being left behind,so he went ahead and took the van home.
She never made it out of Snake river alive which is why nobody has heard from her.
If the tent was in the van,it most likely means he left her on the side of the road somewhere and she excepted a ride from the wrong person.
Just my opinion ofcourse.

Trigger warning, not a pleasant scenario follows: Hypothetically, let’s say Brian strangled Gabby in a fit of rage fighting over her leaving him to see friend on birthday. Her remains, God bless the young innocent girl, left somewhere in the middle of the Godforsaken wilderness subject to the elements and the fauna. They ,the police and FBI ,never ever find them so no crime. No DNA, nothing to light up luminal, he takes days to return to van, all washed up. He remains silent for life on what occurred. Now what??? Can he get away with murder?????

Only source we have of the "he return by himself" timeline is from police. If the parents and obviously BL aren't talking to police, then I think maybe they police believed this early on after talking to his sister. That is one speculation as to how they police can be sure about "he return by himself". My other speculation is that GP parents spoke with BL and parents or at least had some communication prior to BL and parents clamming up. We know that GP parents are not sharing all details about communications, even with GP. We also know FBI told GP parents to not talk about relationships between GP and BL and probably also just not say anything at all having to do with BL including his parents. BUT, it's possible I think that at the very least, there was *some* communication between the two sets of parents that led GP parents to freak out and call her in missing.

*SPECULATIVE convo below. *

GP mom text BL mom, "hey I haven't heard from the kids for a while, what is going on?"
BL mom, "hey, Brian came back Wednesday, Gabby went off to Yosemite for her friends Birthday".
GP mom, "say what? He left her there? We haven't heard from her in a while, and her friend Rose says she didn't ever meet up as planned".
BL mom, "oh really, well I am not sure, I will talk to Brian."

GP mom, "what did Brian say?"
GP mom, "hello?"
GP mom, "hellooooo!"
GP mom, "this is serious, why aren't you responding?"
GP mom, "ok we need to hear from you or we are calling the cops!"

Missing person...BL family refuses to cooperate.
