I wonder if GP contacted the friend in Oregon about any change in plans for GP being there for Halloween -- that would indicate a definitive breakup but with GP still ok and able to communicate.

Does anyone know if these particular National Parks would have cameras facing people as they are leaving? It would definitely narrow Search & Rescue areas, if they were seen entering the park together and BL leaving alone.

Believe me, if the girl had driven his van back home 2000 miles away, and was stonewalling any inquiries as to where she’d last seen the guy she set out with, I’d think that SHE had guilty knowledge, too.

A little unusual that GP's mother downplays this event:

"But Gabby's mother told DailyMail.com, 'It's irrelevant. Two people traveling together with each other 24 hours a day, it's not going to be perfect, it was an argument, and that's all I'm going to say about it.'"

It said in the report that GP had different story why wasn’t hers written in the report? so basically officer sided with BL’s story she probably scratched him because he was going after her and he lied to the cops. This couple was not meant to be together. My very abusive ex husband was a smooth talker would tell lies to turn people against me to make it look like it was my fault.

Could this be a suicide? Could that explain why he took the van back to Florida and refuses to communicate with her parents? Could he be furious at her putting him in this position?

Chris is the guy who is about to find out about the internet and wish he hadn't given his real name.

Very true, but at the time of of the incident this appeared to be a local matter of a minor incident. We are all grateful he stepped up as a concerned citizen. He had no way of knowing she’d go missing and this would blow up nationally, and I hope it doesn’t deter anyone in the future from calling for help when they witness an incident like this.

This is one of the few solid clues out there. It gives a lot of insight, too, behind the scenes of a superficially blissful lifestyle.

Wonder if the tent from the videos was found in the van when LE took possession of it?

I just want to tell you my experience with my ex's family when we broke up. We were together for 8 years. For the 1st 6 years, I was a daily part of his family's life. After that, he bought and moved into his own house. I did not live with him. About a year before we broke up, our relationship became very strained for reasons I still don't even know. (I assume it had something to do with the girl that started "stopping by" his house the day after we broke up but I don't know for sure.) I did not have any family in the area so I was super close to his family. That last year we were together, his parents started distancing themselves from me. I guess they could read the writing on the wall. Whenever I would ask his mother for advice or her opinion about something, she would present it in a way that was favorable to him. Almost like he could do no wrong and it was obviously my fault or my point of view was the wrong way of looking at it. After we split up, his family refused to talk to me. We had some stuff to split up and owned a boat together. He paid 1/2, I paid 1/2 and it was registered in both of our names. He told me if I wanted the boat, I could buy him out of his 1/2 or he would buy me out if I didn't want it. I decided to let him keep it. The only time his mother called me after we broke up was to tell me that the right thing to do was to sign my name off of the title and just let him have the boat. She said he deserved it for "everything he had done for me". The way I looked at it, we were in a long term relationship, we did things for each other when needed. He ended up paying me for my 1/2 much against her wishes. After that, she never spoke to me again. His mom was like a mother to me since my mother lived out of state. She helped me make arrangements for my Granny's funeral. She was at the hospital and cried because she was "scared for me" when I had surgery to have a kidney stone removed. She even got upset that I didn't think to ask her for money when I had an emergency expense. I talked to this woman almost everyday for 8 years. I was devastated when we broke up. She never called to ask me how I was doing. She wouldn't answer if I called. She wouldn't answer if my mother called. Nothing.
All this to say, that I can understand why BL parents didn't answer when GP's mom called if he had told them that they had broken up. But, I'm not sure why they have shown no empathy to GP's family considering she is missing unless they know the details regarding why she is missing.

There is nothing to indicate that she was suicidal. She was communicating with family, her posts were normal and consistent up until the timeline of her disappearance begins.

If she was suicidal, I highly doubt BL would be hiding behind a lawyer and refusing to communicate her last known location to LE.

Edit to add: if my fiance/partner was potentially suicidal, no matter how angry I was at them for whatever reason, I would assist LE in every way I could to locate them and ensure their safety.

Especially with such suspicion on the family, there would be little to no reason not to assist LE in every way to locate the missing person.

Nobody outside of family knows her history on this. This is up to the family to release if it is even relevant information - and it may not be at all. It may not have any relevance in her disappearance. Id hate for THIS to become part of her story when police have said - her boyfriend is a person of interest.

"Surveillance video"?

Any place that the boyfriend may have gone, they’re going to check for cameras. They’ll look to see if there’s two people in the van or just one. Offhand, gas stations, toll roads, entrances to parks, random commercial buildings will have ‘surveillance video’ available. In a residential area, many private homes will, too.
