Blue Point pays tribute to Gabby Petito by lining streets with teal ribbon
A Long Island community is honoring the life of Gabby Petito with ribbons resembling the color of her eyes.
An autopsy performed Tuesday confirmed that the body found in Wyoming Sunday is Petito.
The Johnny Mac Foundation lined the streets throughout the community with teal ribbons before the announcement was made.
The color was chosen by Petito's mom, Nicole Schmidt, to resemble her daughter’s eyes, according to Johnny Mac Foundation founder Jennifer McNamara.
Family members say they hope loved ones, friends and strangers will look at them and think of Petito.
The foundation and neighbors are inviting everyone to tie the ribbons to show the family they are supported in this dark time.
She says they plan to hang them along the rest of Blue Point Avenue, as well as Atlantic Avenue and Montauk Highway.
the problem was... they never had eyes on him in the first place.agreed - both are equally guilty in my opinion
“It’s hard not to second-guess myself, and wish I said more, or wish I had found the right words to make her believe that she deserved more.”
I want to word this correctly because I don't want it to seem like I am putting any blame whatsoever on this park ranger. I'm wondering if her words DID have an impact on Gabby. Maybe Gabby realized that she did deserve more and that she didn't deserve to be treated that way. Maybe hearing an impartial person point out that the relationship was toxic made Gabby realize she didn't want that for herself. Maybe Gabby's inner conversations where she questioned the gaslighting were validated by this stranger. And then perhaps when Gabby and BL had their next altercation, she stood up for herself and said, "Enough is enough...I'm done." And BL didn't like that.
Just speculation and putting my thoughts into words. MOO IMO
Arches park ranger warned Gabby Petito her relationship with Brian Laundrie seemed ‘toxic’

When LE came knocking they were handed the attorney contact name so I think it’s acceptable to think he was hired prior to the date when contact was made about Gabby- as an example, it takes our firm 48 hours to get an engagement letter out and then we wait for the signed agreement and retainer check to arrive - usually about 7-10 days total time and we don’t do criminal. When phone records are revealed I’m going to predict some phone calls to New York around 10:30 am September 1 and then bank records showing a check to the NY lawyer (although a credit card may be used if you are in a hurry) of course if the parents also received a phone call around 8/27-28 then I will amend my outgoing phone call to New York to those corresponding dates. Bottom line ? IMO parents knew everything"When Brian came home" could be anywhere from 9/1 to 9/10ish. Do you have a link to support they hired an attorney before the 10th?
That's what I wondered when I saw that. I'm unsure of what else it would be or why they didn't bring the whole log for evidence. I'm not even sure that's something they would do.
IMHO, BL is incapable of "doing the right thing".I hope Brian turns himself in. It's the right thing to do for Gabby, her family, his family, and himself.
Yes! Wouldn't be surprised if there is more than one lawyer now --there's so much evidence and material to review! Easily six figure legal bills at this point. The only satisfaction I get is the bill his parents are getting - likely $450/hr or more

But yes he wouldn’t he speaking unless his clients directed him to comment or release statements - these parents continue to cover for their son who is a POI in a homicide

I harassed some colleagues today to get their thoughts on what they would have done if Brian called them on 9/1 and most suggested some form of getting him admitted into a hospital on a psych hold and trying to get some type of deal in exchange for finding Gabby.
No one said lie about his location, involve his parents, and hope he escapes. And these were tough guys who take cases I would never take.
As a defense lawyer you are supposed to act in your client's best interest but that doesn't mean ignoring the facts. If you do that, it harms your client. Sometimes the best outcome possible is a plea with reduced charges. You can't win every case and you lose most of them. But you can still do right by your client by giving good advice and advocating for their rights - even if that means a couple years in a mental institution or something. Every case isn't Cinderella with a happy ending.
The most dangerous time of an abusive toxic relationship is when the abused tries to leave their abuser. So hopefully, in a perfect world, there is some type of support system in place and safeguards for the victim. I had to actually sit down with my DV counselor to plan my exit. That's how dangerous it is. Gabby probably didn't know this, just as I didn't know this.
Is this the house and bedroom that Gabby occupied with Brian? Rather small, a twin bed?
'Inside Brian Laundrie's bedroom as Gabby Petito's homicide confirmed
Maybe they were marking them as a way to exclude them as part of this case? That's what I wondered when I saw that. I'm unsure of what else it would be or why they didn't bring the whole log for evidence. I'm not even sure that's something they would do.
100%. My Dad is down there and one of the reasons he loves it, is you can get away with anything. They have the most criminals per capita, evading law than anywhere I've ever known. He could easily slip out of there if he wanted to and he's had the time to do it too.Lots of small fishing towns as well where people don’t ask questions if you don’t. If I were to disappear myself from SWFL, it would be one of my first choices.
I am not sure what to make of this. This is a journalist for CNBC so I believe it is allowed. She's showing evidence markers.

My thoughts too, why they refused to communicate with Gabby”s family before LE was involved, already following attorney advice. Bottom line ? IMO parents knew everything
Hence the significance of the pattern. Even when we know for a fact they were aware of the situation, they sat back and did nothing. What if BL got hold of his parents mobiles and blocked Gabby's parents numbers? They'd be none the wiser about them trying to get in touch.
May I ask a question? The threads move so fast (as you all know), that when I leave the computer I can't find the answer to my questions. My last input was about the "deer cam" which may have shown Brian in a small town. A guy who was tall, bald with a backpack. I'd like to know how to find the newest pages without going through a few hundred to get to it? Any suggestions? And was the deer cam explained?
