How loud is a really small handgun like the one seen in her TikTok? Anyone know?
I have not seen the firearm in her tiktok nor do I claim to be a specialist or even an enthusiast. I have a .380 bodyguard and it is very loud. I definitely use ear protection.

I saw a video of the neighbor but are there any written MSM reports that confirm neighbors saw BL in the neighborhood after 9/1?

A 380 is loud. The sound is substantial. It would be attention getting in a park. A 380 is about the same loudness as as 9mm which is the civilian / police / military standard. Not as loud as a 45, but certainly not as quiet as a 22.

What I find strange about this hike is that the news report I read of it said that "late Tuesday," Brian decided to take this hike. It was raining that day, and I think that evening. Who decides to start a hike late in the day? Is that common? If the detail is correct, that is. I've read many different statements about him and the hiking trip, but I wouldn't think anyone would start a hiking trip on a rainy day.

I also didn't think anyone would hike or backpack it with flip-flops, either, but....

It would depend on how long you plan to hike. I like to hike late in the day to avoid the sun and heat. Or he might have just gone to sit in the woods and block out the world. No need for anything other than flip flops in that case. The parents might have thought he was coming back and then he texted later that he was staying over night, or going on the lam. So they went to get his car to bring it home, or they went to get his car so they could drive him a 100 miles away before returning.

I assume he mostly lived on granola, fruit, yogurt, chocolate, coupled with being on the road for a month, I don’t think they cooked. He could have bulked up in the 2weeks (?) he was home in order to disguise himself, that is if he fled that Tuesday.
Hard for me to consider that the image matched reality... even relative to diet. After all, Petito is/was said to be a vegan... yet there is a photo (from the fateful trip, I believe) depicting her eating chili cheese fries. Sooooo, who knows what a really hungry guy will eat.

That's what I was wondering -- are there dogs who are trained to find dead bodies as opposed to looking for living people?
Yes, cadaver dogs are specifically trained to find human remains. But we’re not sure they are using those. It’s possible, though.

I don’t think it was anything in particular on the phone, it was the phone itself and what it represented. That phone was Gabby’s connection to people other than BL.

MOO: I believe BL drove off and left her at least once. I don’t buy the story that he went to Florida to clean out the storage unit. I believe he left her without anything but her phone and she had to get her parents to get her food and a hotel for a few days. I believe that she was resourceful enough to do that upset him because she wasn’t punished enough by this. I think he hated life in that van and saw her time in a hotel as a reprieve. So this time, he wanted to drive off and leave her without her cell phone or her belongings to really teach her a lesson. So he was going to take that phone to do it. When she fought back, he attacked her in public. MOO.

The argument with the phone happened 8/12, and they say she checked out of the hotel 8/24. I read that the hotel was near the airport.

Sorry, I'm missing something in the swamp hide-out (or camp-out) scenario. But who goes camping in a snake-and-gator-infested swamp with lousy weather? What kind of parents would even find that believable, or if gullible, wouldn't worry about their (adult) child's safety there? To a complete outsider with no knowledge of Florida, this makes no sense at all. And what about those Burmese pythons that got a lot of media attention some years back--are they a threat, too? Just wondering, as long as we're discussing reptilian hazards.

"Hey, mom & dad, I'm going to the regional park to chill out and do some camping" is a very different statement in a region with swampland and dangerous critters than in any other area: hills, mountains, sea-level parks on dry land. What parent would find it a normal, no-cause-for-concern thing to do in swampland?

Nobody. None. That is the point. They are so composed and unconcerned because he isn’t there. He never was. That is what my post was about…

This was posted and may help:

“Everything was just normal life once he came back,” Charlene Guthrie told Fox News of the time Laundrie, 23, returned to his family’s home without Long Island native Petito on Sept. 1.

“He mowed the lawn. [He] and his mother went for a bicycle ride around the block,” said Guthrie, who lives across the street from the Laundries in North Port.

I wouldve agreed with you until I heard the 911 caller talk about him chasing her down and slapping her some more. That pursuit changes it all for me. MOO.

Just to kind of illustrate the "telephone effect" here is the EXACT and ENTIRE conflict description from the transcript of the 911 call:

DISPATCHER: "What were they doing?"
CALLER: "Uh, we drove by and the gentleman was slapping the girl."
DISPATCHER: "He was slapping her?"
CALLER: "Yes and then we stopped. They ran up and down the sidewalk. He proceeded to hit her, hopped in the car and they drove off."

That's it. Nothing more. Those 2 lines have taken on a life of their own on this forum and others. What's also important to note is we DO have another perspective - one that is more detailed and one that MUST cover the same incident BECAUSE it also ends with them getting in the van.

"At approximately 4:30 p.m., I arrived at Moonflower. While standing on the south side of the street, I observed a man and woman appear to have some sort of a dispute. They were talking aggressively at each other and something seemed off. At one point they were sort of fighting over a phone, I think the male took the female's phone. It appeared that he didn't want her in the white van. He got into the drivers seat and she followed him. At one point she was punching him in the arm and/or face and trying to get into the van. "

She eventually climbed in over him and over the passenger seat. I heard her say, "Why do you have to be so mean?" I wasn't sure how serious this was - it was hard to tell if it was sort of play fighting, but from my point of view something definitely didn't seem right. It was as if this guy was trying to leave her, and maybe take her phone? Not sure but wanted to help out. I noticed another person had called this in, and as soon as I left the store, I noticed a police officer and gave him my contact info."

The second witness isn't minimizing the incident. He says it looked wrong - but he also isn't reporting them chasing each other up and down the street and BL beating on GP. His description is WAY more detailed and I think gives a better idea what was going on. Then - you marry that to what GP and BL both said (when separated) and you look at the physical evidence and I think you can tell what happened.

And I'll also point out - it's not logical to just look at those 2 lines from the 911 call and decide a worst-case interpretation of them is the way to go. <modsnip>

Earlier this year, I had a situation which would have had me sneaking INTO Cuba. Luckily the situation resolved 2 days before I had to do that but my calculation (and research) was that with cash in the Keys area, I would be able to find someone with a boat who would be able to get me there. Getting IN isn't the tough part and there are miles of uninhabited shoreline with tiny villages within walking distance where one could both hide and get supplies. With American $$ one could hole up for a long while there.
I don't know how resourceful BL is, but he could've made it to CUBA in a day. Unless he went to Havana, chances are villagers would 1) turn a blind eye for cash, 2) have NO access to outside news so wouldn't know he is a fugitive.

I'm not sure he has the resources or the smarts to leave the country, of course, its possible. But being somewhere not able to speak the language just adds to the difficulties. While he certainly doesn't seem like a real outdoorsman he does seem to think he is

I used to visit this site years ago and appreciated the excellent sleuthing I observed at that time. But, unfortunately, I must say that in reference to this particular event much of the meticulous sleuthing of the past has devolved into wild speculation.
I dont disagree but I feel like it's been better the last day or two than it was previously.

I think they have a good reason to be searching where they are. There has to be a reason to use so many resources for so long. Not just going on the parents word.

Also, if he had a gun or LE suspected he did they would probably warn public to not approach or that he may be armed and dangerous.

BL could be squatting in an old abandoned house. There are tons where I live and people do it all the time.He could get all his food and supplies delivered with Doordash,Instacart,Uber,Grubhub or others and never even have to answer his door.

That’s true, but he’s got to pay for it somehow....

How readily available are silencers?
Only relevant if her murder was pre-planned.

I don't think Brian was an "abuser" as people like to keep repeating in this forum.

SBM after the post was deleted.

A scratched face vs. a murder.
This is like the people that insinuate Shanann W "had it coming" or something. They say she was this or that, she was the aggressor but "that doesn't mean she deserved it!" .. then why bring it up. What's the point of saying "she started it"? (as was literally said in the og post.)
We don't know the truth and Gabby can't defend herself now and obviously couldn't when she was KILLED.
A person can walk away instead of retaliating, if that's what you think was happening.. (Which I do not think. I don't think she was an abuser, just like you don't think Brian was one. And this is all MOO.)

What really did it for me is the video of her making breakfast - she says “Brian is doing some yoga” she hesitated before she said that. He is clearly not doing yoga - he is sitting there. And then she whispers into the camera “I’m going to steal some of his granola”. Within a few seconds of her saying that he is like right next to her looking over her shoulder and pacing in the background . Odd. Something right there from that interaction alone gave me a bad vibe about him….

I got the same vibes...he was definitely pumping out some shady anger vibes in that video.

I believe it is due to the youtube video giving them pretty much the exact location where they found her. They had already narrowed it down but that video helped to zero it in.

Yes. I think the day or 2 before, the Tiktoker’s story was picked up by MSM. The Bethune’s video that following Sunday brought them right to her body.
