Good point to think about is if he has his cell phone still. His bill is probably due. Did he pay it? Who pays it? Will it be shut off?
This is a good question! Full disclosure, I pay for my kids' cell bills, only because we are on a family plan and it has contracts, and it's just easier....(my parents are on my sister's plan for the same reason, just cheaper all of the way around). But I hadn't even thought of that. Thanks for sharing!

Hmm this conflicts with the original story of the Van being seized at the house, them trying to speak with BL and the parents handing them contact information for the attorney.
I was having a hard time locating an article that specifically said they spoke with them before the 12th. I posted a few threads back about how the van was taken from the home late on the 11th into the 12th. But nothing saying exactly when they spoke to someone at the home. I easily could have missed it, but depending on when it was I think that allows enough room for the neighbors story to be true. IMO

In the body cam footage Brian seemed to indicate the attention their fight outside the cafe drew had bothered / embarrassed him. That seemed to be his primary motivation for wanting to calm her down while it was happening. If they fought, he did not want it to be so public.

He came across as “the calm guy”, a character depiction that’s been (and continues to be) a major point of contention throughout these threads, as many argued the cool collected togetherness he displayed is an act typically mastered by manipulative abusers.

Now, maybe it’s just me but THAT version of Brian, mastered act or not, greatly contradicts with the temper tantrum throwing madman narrative being touted as of late.

So which is it?

The Brian in the body cam footage who was understandably embarrassed to have had eyes on them (or as abuse claimers have put it, an aversion to being outed as an abuser) while fighting OR the “Brian” who allegedly stomps in and out of a busy restaurant in the midst of a temper tantrum (and for what?!) making a full-on public spectacle of himself?

Because given what we’ve SEEN and what we KNOW to be true it’s not conceivable for him to be both of these people in my opinion.

/JMO

He probably acts differently around the cops?

FOX 5 New York reports Laundrie, 23, was briefly shown in a video posted on August 19 reading the 2014 novel Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer, which tells the story of four women venturing to Area X, with three dying and a fourth staying in the wilderness.
Eta:
“It looked as though they were like almost getting kicked out," Angelo said. "It wasn't necessarily between them, it was more so Gabby abruptly leaving the restaurant crying, and Brian was just evidently really upset, pissed off, I would say. I would say Gabby was upset, he was angry, and he was just being very temperamental towards the restaurant staff."

How is that if the police were there late Saturday night to get the van?

Could have gone after that cause they freaked out, not sure. But it is what the neighbours have said. according to the reporting.

[Quote snip link below FOX NEWS] In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the restaurant confirmed the two were there.

"Yes, we can confirm Gabby and Brian were in Merry Piglets…We have already notified the FBI and they are aware. We are letting them do their jobs and we are respecting Gabby's family and have nothing further to comment," the restaurant said.” Brian Laundrie argued in Wyoming restaurant hours before Gabby Petito vanished: eyewitnesses — Fox News

IMO the restaurant doesn't need the cable news distractions, and the waitresses involved are not looking for 5 min of fame, and aren't trying to be social media influencers. I don't think they will have much to say to the public.

There is a webcam in the center of Jackson that the van probably passes. If it has an archive, LE probably has times and dates. It might not matter, as they probably have cell phone data and combined with local wifi connections, puts them right in the restaurant.

I wonder if she felt unsafe sleeping in the van someplace alone for a week? I would.
She probably didn't know if/when he was coming back, he controlled her every move.

You buy a drinkable filter straw for $19.95.
You can also dig a well and use rocks to filter water.
Or boil water.
It's pretty easy if you have matches, a firestarter kit.
Ever watch Naked and Afraid, survivor in the wildness show?
If he has matches and a small pot or cup he'll survive.
With planes, helicopters and drones flying overhead and using thermal imaging any heat he used would be spotted.

OK, that makes sense. And having a spare key made could eat into her tight budget. I've been surprised at how much having a spare car key mde costs!

i just had spare car key made at local hardware store $2. It’s an older car and I had the original key to have it copied. The new cars can run you hundreds.

So Im thinking and obviously this is MOO but if they went camping the day she was reported missing isnt it at all possible BL did that to take his parents off the grid a few days. Not thinking this would blow up the way it did? Im not 100% sold on people saying that his parents were privy to what had actually happened and instead thought that the two had gone separate ways after breaking up. IDK just thinking out loud I guess

I believe in the press conference, the lead investigator, maybe it was Taylor, said they went to the house late Saturday into Sunday for the van. That had to be September 11th. The police went over there on the 10th and the 11th.

I think it was the one where her dad spoke first. I will try to find it.

ETA: Here it is 4 minutes in.

Someone mentioned that Nancy Grace stated that she knows Gabby's cause of death. I believe John Walsh does as well. I mentioned a few threads back that John said that Brian beat Gabby to death during his interview with Anderson Cooper on CNN. He said it with such anger and certainty. The interview was just before the announcement that Gabby's death was ruled a homicide. I think he may have slipped up said something he was supposed to keep to himself.

MOO.

Right - but how would NG and JW know the manner of death? I can't imagine the FBI sharing the information with anyone who didn't need to know... especially TV personalities. Seems odd.

I heard him say that, too.

Right, hadn’t thought of that — may have been simply a weekend get-away. Thanks for your feedback.
Any Floridians here? Do people in Florida genuinely go camping? Is it safe to sleep in a tent with snakes and alligators roaming around? Can an alligator get into a tent?

Yeah, I found those. But could the Laundries have not been there at the time? Returning later on the 12th and then deferring to the attorney?

ETA: The link stated late Saturday into Sunday…so the 11th/12th. It’s on the first page of the Media thread.
