Maybe it's just me, but Lord forbid my child was missing, and I truly had no idea where he was, I ask myself if I'd be sleeping at night, eating, have the energy to drive to Orlando to talk to a lawyer?? Or would I be sobbing uncontrollably and need that lawyer to drive to my house, especially in such a high profile case with media camped outside my house? Would I even give a hoot about a lawyer, or would I be in that reserve looking for my kid, buying lunch for those who are daily risking their lives in that swamp looking for him. Just wondering...

Fight or flight.
Acting on advice of others.
Action over inaction.

Maybe they were told they couldn't help search. Those out there are not a civilian team.

Maybe their going to meet a lawyer, be it 3.5 minutes or 3.5 hours away from home, is their way of coping, fighting, acting and preparing for the unknown that comes next. Self-determined, or at the advice of others.

I think we'd all be well-served to be mindful of a couple of things:
1. We all think we know how we'd behave in a situation ... until we're put in it.
2. A lot of people have constructed an image of these people being callous and calculating ... when in fact this may be so far from the truth. They're just as likely (if not moreso) to be average folks from humble beginnings who are in the throws of more turmoil than most anyone will ever experience in their lifetime.

What are gun purchase laws like in Wyoming? Is there a waiting period? Or could he have gone and bought one the next day?
i don't think there's a waiting period. wyoming is a very gun-friendly state. pretty much everyone here has like 5 of them and one for their dog.

This will also allow them to look at anything and everything with their resources *IF* they didn't have a sealed warrant before.

To me, this says he immediately planned to run and hide. The FBI also knows what he bought, or if this was ATM transactions. ATM transactions would make it harder to track him down if he got cash. But, now all digital forensic resources can be used as well. What did he buy with all that money? Airline ticket? What is the rule for buying a ticket w/ cash nowadays? Has he figured out how to pay someone to get him across the border? If he bought stuff to go into "survival mode" somewhere, did the parents question or see it? WHERE ARE THE RING CAMERAS?? Does the neighborhood not have any?

I wonder if anything Brian has read anything that has influenced where he would go and what he would do?

This is taking an a whole "Don't f with cats" vibe.
you cannot fly without ID.... an actual ID as a fake would not be easy to obtain with an entire fake identity especially international travel. he did not fly period or they wouldn't be looking in a swap. plane manifests are on record. cash or no cash you have to be a valid person or at least a validated fake person.

Laundrie family lawyer responds to FBI arrest warrant for Brian Laundrie

“It is my understanding that the arrest warrant for Brian Laundrie is related to activities occurring after the death of Gabby Petito and not related to her actual demise," Laundrie attorney Steven Bertolino told Fox News Digital. "The FBI is focusing on locating Brian and when that occurs the specifics of the charges covered under the indictment will be addressed in the proper forum.”

The FBI announced the arrest warrant on Thursday.

"On September 22, 2021, the U.S. District Court of Wyoming issued a federal arrest warrant for Brian Christopher Laundrie pursuant to a Federal Grand Jury indictment related to Mr. Laundrie’s activities following the death of Gabrielle Petito," FBI Denver posted on Twitter.

Scum bag response IMO. Unless things turn out otherwise.

“Access device" is defined at 18 U.S.C. § 1029(e)(1). Instead of using the term "credit card," or "debit/credit instrument," the term "access device" is used in the statute and is defined broadly as any "card, plate, code, account number, electronic serial number, mobile identification number, personal identification number, or other telecommunications service, equipment, or instrument identifier, or other means of account access that can be used, alone or in conjunction with another access device, to obtain money, goods, services, or any other thing of value, or that can be used to initiate a transfer of funds...." The only limitation, i.e., "other than a transfer originated solely by paper instrument," excludes activities such as passing forged checks.

This begs the question did he always have the card? When her dad ordered Uber Eats, and she had $1,000 in there, why couldn't she order her own. Maybe because she didn't have the card in her possession maybe she wasn't allowed to.

I think you nailed it. <modsnip>

Probably would be wasting valuable LE time reporting that it’s BL as this was on August 28th, the day before the hitchhiker picked BL up in WY which is a known fact.
the police also state in the replies that the credit card in question was taken from a house so I think that alone implies it’s not Brian /JMO

So relieved that they can bring him in on SOMETHING while they continue to look for him! Absolutely sick that he would take money from her accounts after her death. To me, that digs his proverbial hole deeper and deeper, imo.

I am certainly no expert, but nothing about this case reads "textbook..." Curious as to what the lawyers in the group think.

I'd also like to hear what his parents have to say regarding this warrant. I assume that this is why they were meeting with their lawyer today...

At this point, would the FBI or any other LE tell BL's parents in advance that an arrest warrant was coming so they could prepare with an attorney?

Seems doubtful to me, but just wondering about the timing of their visit to an attorney today.

How did he get over $1000. You are kidding me, right? Taking cash out (that would be my #1), food, phones, gas, supplies. $1000 is nothing if you are planning on running away and hiding. $300 at an ATM per day. Plus charges on the card. Good thing he wasn't traveling West, because then it'd be over $1000 just for gas......

360 Checking Account Disclosures | Capital One
"Total card purchases and withdrawals are limited to $5,000 per day. This includes ATM withdrawals, cash advances, and signature and PIN-based purchases. Withdrawals from an ATM made using a 360 Checking Card are limited to $1,000 per day. "

Your opinion of how long they will continue to search with no results?
There's no telling. We don't know how much ground they have covered and how much is left to do.

I think it's closer to the end than the beginning.

  • #379
Your point?
My.point is thos.may be the only card they had!
I wonder if he had used.it in the !months prior!
If he had his money I. The account!
I know he seems.to have drained the account but he has the password!
I'm not making excuses just my 2 cents

I hate to tell y’all this, but I live in a coastal town and just about every third guy you see down here here looks just like this . Brown flip flops , beard, hat, all of it.

Well that’s bleak.
