I’ve watched a lot of Forensic Files. I’ve obviously never killed someone, but I damn straight wouldn’t put the body anywhere near the vehicle. The sensitivity of cadaver dog noses is mind blowing. They can smell it within minutes of death, on materials that have barely been in contact with the body.
Maybe he planned to put her body in an area that wouldn't be so obvious, but got paranoid or heard people talking or heard a vehicle approaching, so he panicked and covered her slightly. Later, he got more paranoid and just GTH outta there -- in addition to that, IMO, I think he was being his usual self -- lazy, lazy, lazy. Digging a real hole, or hiding her in dense brush takes a lot of work, ya know.

Re: the messy van during the Moab traffic stop.

I wouldn't put much stock into that. I've vlogged in the past and trust me, what you see in an edited video or photo (or even live stream) is not usually reality. People just don't want to see that. It's not appealing. You learn to tidy things up to get the "perfect shot". I know this has been discussed before but I see it trickling back in. ;)

May this be the day Brian is found!!

sorry not what i mean must have explained it poorly, you can get those little solar chargers just for a phone or laptop, they aren't very big
Ahhhh. Gotcha. Yeah. I don't recall seeing one of those... typically travelers hang them off their backpack... leave them on the dashboard... etc. Don't recall seeing that... but could be. Or could be that he picked one up along the way. A lot of words to simply convey... I dunno.

Yikes, I am thinking his artistic side is going to translate into an ability to more greatly alter his appearance.

Not only is he not afraid of dye, but artistry in other areas can also translate to better quality dye applied that is applied with better skills. There is also the possibility of make up. Nothing elaborate, but I think his drawing skills would enable to him deepen the shadow portions of his face to look older, or perhaps more gaunt.
Man, just that little bit of hair on top makes the shape of his head look totally different. With hair, mask etc he could be very difficult for the average person to notice by now

LE are still waiting for the second autopsy results which will provide the cause of death. Toxicology takes a while and the FBI may also want an entomologist's report. So long as they have something they can charge him with now, i.e. fraud, that's enough to arrest him and they can then hold him until they have enough evidence to charge him with murder.
If they're waiting on toxicology and blood work etc. Would it stand to reason they could think something other than physical injuries happened to her, i.e. poisoned or ? something else I may be missing

As MassGuy said last week:

"There is a pattern here.

Brian's parents never report Gabby missing, despite her van being parked outside their house for days and days.

They know Brian and Gabby left together, and should be returning together.

A desperate family reaches out to them, and they callously ignore those messages.

Brian disappears, and they delay reporting his disappearance for a couple days.

They refuse to speak to law enforcement, while a frantic search is taking place across the country.

Gabby's family continues to make gut wrenching pleas for the Laundrie family to do the right thing, and they are met with tone deaf remarks from the Laundrie's attorney, and silence from the Laundrie family.

I see no innocent explanation here."
THIS. :-(

...I have no words.
You have no words based on knowing she is dead. They may not have known. We don't know the story he told them. We are acting like he came home and confessed straight away. We do not know that. We do not know what they were told. We don't know they were not actively imploring him to talk. Maybe they are monsters, maybe they are victims, maybe they are somewhere in between. <modsnip> I am going to reserve judgement till after it all comes out.

Maybe someone should make pictures of him with different kinds of hair to help the search. I am in no way skilled for that

This is what I'm having trouble with: Why did he sit around for 10 days? He could have flown anywhere in the world that didn't have extradition laws.
Flying out means having a passport and in many cases, a visa from the country you are flying to. Visa requirements can range from token to pretty strict. Then factor in covid restrictions leading to more countries moving to the "strict" side of the equation.

Yeah, I was thinking he may actually have taken a couple of nights to dispose of her during that brief summer darkness. Maybe covering her with rocks at one point, then moving her farther, near the river.

BL's trip back home on Sept 1st only makes sense if he went there for extra $$$. In WY he had access to all the funds in his and GP's account(s).

IMO there was not enough in those accounts to fund his plans on life after the homicide.

The extra funds required had to have come from his family/support system back in FL

IMO

Not with the manner of death already determined. There's obviously signs on the body that points to homicide.

He also could have fled straight away before anyone was suspicious.

I have been thinking its highly likely that GP was on her parent's bank account and that GP had permission to use the card and access the monies from that account and it is her parent's account that BL accessed. JMO
I think if that were true, and her parents were worried, her parents would have looked at their bank statements and saw weird charges outside of the West, where she was supposed to be located, during days she was incommunicado. I think Gabby had her own account.

I think they just want to be confident in their conclusions before they publish the final report. Since this is a criminal investigation, they will want to be sure they ruled in or out every possible issue. It's not the time to skip any step because they think they know the answer. They want to be methodical.
