Just a thought, how many camp or cottages are easy to break into and empty that BL could get supplies from and hide? Mine is always fully stocked. We only go to ours a few times a month. Thinking out loud mostly on monster drink, not his choice but convenience? Jmoo

A Wyoming coroner did the autopsy, but the release of info is up to the FBI. This is a federal case, after all. Her body was either in the National Park or on Bureau of Land Management land.

Coroner expected to release autopsy report for body believed to be Gabby Petito

Brent Blue, the Teton County Coroner, told CBS News the autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. Blue said autopsies usually take one to two hours, but if microscopic data is needed, it may take longer and it is unlikely to be fully completed today.

When the autopsy is completed, the FBI's field office in Denver will release any findings, Blue said.

Yes, I know it's a federal case. And I know when info is released it will come from the FBI. However, other than our old friend HIPAA, I'm not sure what federal law has to say about autopsy reports (not COD but the report itself with all those details) I do know state laws vary. I cited Wyoming's. If you have a link to the controlling federal law, please provide it!

Some say HIPAA could be involved. Public Figures, Professional Ethics, and the Media

That's a private jet at 13k feet altitute. No idea what it is doing, but it's likely not involved with BL.

I would love to know what the heck it is doing though, lol

Pilot here again. There must be a mix up between the ground track picture and the aircraft. Tight turns at 13,oo0 feet at 244 knots is almost (probably) not possible. It’s most likely well outside the performance envelope of the aircraft (above maneuvering speed) and makes no sense for searching.

13,oo0 feet at 244 knots is cruise altitude and speed for a business jet like that.

A LOT!
*Had a convict escape in my area years back and police caught him by using people's home surveillance systems in their hunting cabins. Of course, they knew where to look.

Brian Laundrie doppelganger becomes TikTok sensation

A man who bears a striking resemblance to Florida fugitive Brian Laundrie has taken to TikTok in a bid to clear his name.

And the doppelganger has gone viral overnight, with nearly 2 million views and more than 530,000 likes since Tuesday.

Lol, this man looks nothing like BL in my opinion. <modsnip>

That said, it must be fairly stressful to be a balding/shaven-head, skinny-ish man with facial hair in America right now...! I suppose in a mask, or with a cap, any person fitting that description is liable to be have their photo surreptitiously taken or called out/whispered about by the public, so maybe I'm too quick to judge.

ETA: Thank you, mods, for snipping. I was off on a spiel, and you're doing excellent work keeping a lid on our posts here. I'm sorry to add to your workload, but we appreciate you!

It could be that they wipped their social media presence prior to starting their "influencer" venture. I know I'd do that (or at least try my best) before starting a career in social media.

BL may have used anon profile user names, which would be impossible to google, but the FBI can search his computer to retrieve older info.

This is significant because it shows the FBI did not get the video until Dog the Bounty Hunter went public with his lead that the Laundrie family was there.

Don't expect release of cause of death details any time soon. I don't think the FBI is foolish enough to give BL's lawyer fodder for a defense so far in advance of an arrest.

My Gen-Z daughter has informed me that FB and Twitter are "for Boomers and Gen X. Gen-Z use Snapchat and TikTok." Okay then. :)

Yep :)

Thank you!

So are you saying it's NOT a Challenger? Or it is and there is an issue with tracking?

He could have simply told his parents that they ended their relationship. They agreed he would drive the van home, and she would fly to her parents. They didn’t want to drive together because they were DONE. Oh, and she’s coming down to pick up her stuff in a few days - I don’t want to be here when she comes to get the van—so let’s go camping so I don’t have to see her when she shows up with her mom to get her stuff and drive her van home. If I were a parent and my kid told me that - I’d likely believe it.

After the 10th/11th though? Not sure what to make of his parents’ actions (or inactions). Part could be attributed to terrible legal counsel, but not all of it. IMO

Yes, very plausible.

However in that context, I think the incident where BL reportedly flew back to FL to remove her stuff from storage and put it in the parents garage is not making sense.

That would require some sort of personal interaction between BL or his parents and GP and/or her parents to retrieve her possessions from their garage. In a breakup with volatile components (like the 911 call with physical attack and verbal abuse) the last thing anyone would want would be a confrontation over some personal effects.

It would have been much easier to remove his things from storage, leave her things there, and tell her parents the storage unit needed to be cleaned out by X date and let them pay for it.

I think that trip back will tell us a lot about the Laundrie family plans and their subsequent behaviour when he returned.

I'm curious how John Walsh's statement on CoD weighs here

This might be a dumb question. I’ve been following this case in it’s entirety but have never heard the FBI say they do not know where BL is. Only that they are searching Carlton Reserve etc. Has anyone seen a statement from FBI that says they don’t know where he is. I know what Chris and Roberta have said but I’m starting to wonder if they all know where he is and maybe he’s covered by HIPPA laws.

IMO if he were in a mental health facility, LE would not be spending so much effort trying to locate him.
Murder/harming self is not covered by HIPPA laws. Psychiatrists are mandated reporters for harm done to self or others. IMO he is not in a facility or they wouldn’t have spent so much time, effort and resources looking for him.

The article states "The search and rescue team was volunteering. " I'd expect DTBH to tip them well or otherwise show his appreciation if that's truly the case.

PRSAR is a very reputable SAR organization, highly respected here in SFL (they’re based on the west coast of FL) and work through donations. No clue what DTBH has set up w/them, if anything! PRSAR has been involved in many high attention cases. As Floridians, we are always happy to see PRSAR involved.

Finally something grabbed a good laugh from me on this case:

I'm ready to buy a whiteboard and appoint myself lead investigator. I may even buy myself a badge #BrianLaundrie

According to this article, on Aug. 31, RL canceled previously made camping plans for two people from Sept. 1-3. It makes sense that she knew her son was coming home by Aug. 31. Then on Sept. 3, she reserved a spot for the three of them for Sept. 6-8.

So, while I think it's likely BL called his parents from the road and told them what happened, I have to entertain the idea that possibly he called them and told them he was coming home, but told them something else about GP. If they took a break after the Moab altercation, maybe his parents figured this was another break and had no idea about GP's death when he came home. If it's accurate that GP's mom didn't try to get ahold of them until the 9th or 10th, what's to say BL's parents didn't just think GP was with her folks, or whatever, for those 10 days. If BL made up a plausible story, they had no reason not to go about life, camping, buying a new phone, etc., none the wiser. Until GP's mom starts trying to communicate. Then, maybe his parents were like, "Hey, Bri, what's this? I thought you said she was at home?" (Or whatever...). If they questioned him and he finally fessed up, it was probably shock, figuring out what to do next, and calling the lawyer. IDK...

If he got a new phone number with the new phone on September 4th, then Gabby's mom would have been trying to reach him via texts and phone calls to his old number.
Unless they both have iPhone and use iMessage. If he got a new iPhone and used the same iCloud all the texts would still go through on the new phone IMO. And if he still had his original phone (If it was iPhone) as soon as he hit WiFi the messages would come through.

I find it surprising that they're still searching the Carlton Reserve. Apparently there's no safe drinking water there. He may have survived on peanut butter crackers and/or cheese when he allegedly went camping for a 6 weeks, but no-one can survive in an environment without clean water.

Drinking contaminated water can make you really sick as it can be filled with bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can result in waterborne diseases such as cryptosporidiosis or giardiasis. He’d end up with absolutely appalling diarrhoea plus vomiting, and stomach pain. That’s a life experience he’ll remember when languishing in a cell.

Yep. They also don't distinguish between Gen X and Boomers. You're a boomer if you're older than a millennial.
