If he is, here is an example of what living outdoors down here and in the Everglades is like… it’s an older story but I would think survival skills stay the same. What this article doesn’t mention is the Burmese python explosion we have had. If you read it, it mentions gators feed at night. Not sure BL is familiar with surviving in FL since they recently moved here. But for those of you wondering….

Do you think the phone records will ever be released? Not the actual content, just the logs.
my guess is they will be evidence in court so no...just like the autopsy results

Given he's claimed he's "into primitive camping" this doesn't seem like a far cry from what he wants the public to believe he is doing.

It sucks she is drug into this. I hope her kids aren’t school age. I’d hate to hear what other kids will say to them.

I feel bad for Gabby's younger siblings. I think there are five of them younger than 12. Not only is their oldest sister DEAD because she was murdered, the things they must be hearing about her. Like she is a mentally ill domestic abuser. They are living in a horror movie.

I think the media is making things worse all around. The lack of any real "new" news is giving the press creative ways to twist things and it just leads to more speculation and misinformation...just my thoughts for the second
I cant see what else they can do. It is important IMO to keep it in the news and have people notice any suspicious activity or sightings of him.

Wouldn't it be nice if the media put the children first?
In some places, harrassment of young children is not allowed (as well as not being allowed to photo them without pixelation).
I would consider media encampment at the sister's house would be scary to the young children who live in that house, who might like to go outside and play, who have nothing at all to do with this matter.

I couldn't agree more! As a child involved in a high profile media case it still haunts me

I've wondered in the back of my mind if the stay in the SLC hotel didn't involve waiting until unspecified bruising healed and she was photo-ready again. Good time to edit & post video, too, of course.
I don't think so unless her father didn't see it. I believe he said in the Dr. Phil interview that they faced chatted over youtube live or something like that when he helped her with her website. I don't know the exact words he used, but it sounded like they'd used youtube to communicate with each other.

How are you going to get through the border?

When the Merry Piglets incident came to light, Gabby's mom said that it didn't fit with their timeline. That has kept me thinking. If the Merry Piglets was an inaccurate sighting, that leaves the blue heeler lady sighting of the van’s arrival at Spread Creek campground. That witness saw only BL in the driver's seat, no GP. That was August 26th. (Merry Piglets was the 27th.) (The blue heeler report of him in spread creek was turned in on Thursday September 16, the Bethune sighting was turned in at 1 am Sunday September 19, and GP's body was found on Sunday September 19. So the blue heeler lady's report was the first to tie him to Spread Creek. This gives credence to her report which included that he was alone.) On the 27th and 28th she saw the van still there with no indications of anyone at the van.

Gabby Petito case: What one witness saw near the Tetons may help FBI unravel mystery

So it's possible that GP was already killed elsewhere on the 26th and BL brought her to spread creek to ditch the van and body. From the 26th to the 29th, he ran and hid, much as he is currently running and hiding. During that time he may have learned that running and hiding is doable but hard without resources. There was a snapchat sent to a friend and a text about Stan sent from her phone during these couple days so he would’ve had to have her phone with him. The 29th was the day of the two hitchhiking incidents. If he'd seen evidence of the campground being closed or police activity, I think he would have continued on the lam. With the van and body undiscovered, IMO he took the van and her capital one card and returned to Florida for a break from the running and hiding. At this point he thinks he may get away with it.

At some point between Sept 1 and Sept 14, he returns to his running and hiding. It would be nice to know what date and with whose assistance, however, we can look at the August 26th-29th time period. In those three days of running and hiding, he made it about 20 miles away. He remained in the woods and emerged at Colter Bay Village which has campground facilities. Based on this, LE looking for him in Carlton Reserve seems reasonable. From August 26th-29th, he did not go far and he made use of a campground's facilities. I would look for him to be caught on security video or cell phone video using the facilities at any of the nearby campgrounds such as Myakka River state park or farther away. If he's getting assistance from a relative, such as resupplying, that is a reason to stay close. If he's not getting assistance, he might be farther afield at a pace no more than 7 miles a day following state forests down to the everglades or north to Ocala forest with no real long term plan.

I get it but there reporting facts and then there is re-writing the facts...I think it is important to stick to not changing things around and being honest especially when looking for a fugitive. It's important to focus on finding him.

I love this take. I have had a lot of young friends killed in completely tragic ways (5 in a small plane crash, 1 in a car crash).

I hated when people tried consoling me by saying "everything happens for a reason" or "this is all a part of God's plan". When I was in the anger stage of grief when my best friend was killed in a car crash, someone told me "he's in a better place now". I snapped and said, "he was an atheist. Still think that?"

The most comforting thing that anyone said to me after a tragic death of a friend was "This [expletive] sucks. I am so sorry that you have to experience this pain". I've passed that on to others who've lost loved ones and they greatly appreciate it.
Keepin' it real

For a start, they could stay focussed on the FBI search ... as 'boring' as that may seem.

I didn't even realise that Carlton Reserve was still closed, until I looked for that info last night. Because there is not one single recent article that I have seen that is commenting on the ongoing official search, that is on top of what is going on there.

Then maybe report on the bounty hunters who are also out there searching. Follow those people around.

No need to drag every innocent person into the case. For ratings. For click bait. For whatever reason they are doing this.

The link I posted doesn’t seem to open here… but anyone can google surviving in the Everglades. If one can survive there I would think they can survive anywhere in FL. I live on the edges of the Everglades, I could not imagine being out there!

OK, let's just say for speculation that, when things started to heat up, BL did try to take off in the van and gets pulled over. It's been stated here that it's an unlikely scenario. Why?

I agree Alethea, it doesn't seem like she's telling lies or trying to mislead. The interview is also obviously snipped and edited with much of the 'backstory' given to us by Trevor Ault who interviewed her. It is especially important to note that the lead-in to her statement that is in question is what sets us up to believe she hadn't seen him since his return. Narrator: "Laundrie's sister, Cassie, says even she hasn't spoken to her brother since he returned to his home in Florida from his and Gabby's cross-country trip . . . "
And then, when I realized that this interview was aired on the early morning of the 17th of September (the same day that BL's parents finally declared had been missing for several days), that it had only been 11 days since she had actually been with him and their parents at the campground, and that none of the family or their attorney corrected that timeline/misreporting ~ Well, it just still leaves me a bit suspicious.
So, WSers, we didn't misunderstand her words. Either the interviewer did and he misrepresented her (which she/they never corrected) or she said it so clearly to him that he had no problem stating what he heard as her true statement. Perhaps there's a full, uninterrupted version of her interview that I haven't seen? This is the one that I was able to find. Oh and interestingly, GMA has taken the interview off of their website.

Forensic artist explains what Brian Laundrie may look like now

Interesting article IMO

A woman who is arguably the world’s greatest forensic artist joined “Banfield” to explain what Brian Laundrie may look like now.

As the search for Laundrie continues, it begs the question: What does he look like now?

Gibson says even if Laundrie doesn’t actively change his appearance, his appearance will change on its own.

“I’ve been working cases for 39 years and he is going to get a lot of sun, he’s gonna lose weight. I don’t care how much money he has. If you’re on the run … it’s hard to eat, it degrades your life,” Gibson said.

Gibson says “if Laundrie is smart” he’ll immediately shave his beard and mustache. She added one of the most difficult things for people on the run to hide are their ears.

“Ears are the most complicated object on the surface of the head. They’re more complicated than the eyes, lips or the nose,” Gibson said. The other thing about ears, she added: There’s really nothing that can be done to alter them.

Gibson says she is planning on providing a picture of how Laundrie may look in the near future.

MOO Ears can be altered by hiding them. A light stocking cap can easily hide them and is apparently a current fashion trend.

Interesting and it would be most helpful to have someone local to G to assist.
