They did photograph BL in the video. I'm sorry, but IMOO, the zoom photo of GP's face, I don't see a bruise? Even within the circles area. I'm sure the cops assessed her for marks, and would have identified any of they had been there. I need to listen to the video again.
I’m not sure if you are not in “custody “?..

  • #602
It never happened. No charges were pressed, nobody was cited. No court date online or otherwise.
You're right, thank you, I misunderstood what had transpired, ultimately. I've gone back to remove the post so I don't continue to contribute misinformation.

Imo, Brian was concerned that if Gabby was arrested she would tell the truth about what happened. Protecting someone so they don't get angrier is one thing, but going to jail? Hell no. I would start singing.
Agree (so agree). MOO

Okay. So if GP was arrested she would go to jail, and BL would leave in the van. Neither were arrested and GP left in the van, and BL got a room. Right? I'm not from Utah or Wyoming, and I don't know DV processes and that's why I'm asking. What would have been better? Everyone is saying LE didn't handle it right, so what should they have done differently? Could their actions or mishandling cause what happened to GP later?

Not falsely determining Gabby was the abuser. Arresting Brian and taken Gabby to a woman's shelter, where she would have spoken to a professional who might have saved her life.

I don't think there's a mystery about what she meant. I think we have to make too many excuses for what she meant in order for her not to be lying. For example, saying she hadn't heard from GP's family. She's either lying or we have to make an excuse of them having the wrong number. And here with the wishing she could talk to Brian. We again have to make an excuse for what she really meant. When one is telling the truth, we don't need to make so many excuses.
Especially if you have agreed to be interviewed for a national broadcast. You would want to make yourself very clear in your answers. jmo

Yes, you do need to watch it again IMO. They do not assess her for marks even though the original call was about a male hitting a female.
They did assess the scratches on poor Brian's face.

I agree. I don't think BL was concerned at all for GP. He was trying to save his own arse. By making her sound like the crazy one, BL hoped the officers wouldn't listen to her side of things and then find out that BL was the actual perpetrator.
Brian called it ' her little vlog'... with his little sneer. And his telltale throwaway line. ...' I gave her plenty of time'.. like as if all time is his property to dispense with...

He laid it on thick and smooth, and he'd done it a hundred times before.

Was there a pending court date or was all that changed when they opted not to charge her?
That picture sure sums things up.

Hopefully LE is focusing on a single factor right now...Gabby is dead, and BL took off. The single factor at this point will be concentrating on collecting data, electronic forensics, examining all the players,....and finding BL. Being that BL fled across the country and went on the run is a really bad look for him.
I agree that all of the multiple things in your post are important and hopefully LE is looking at all of them. JMO.

They said they were going to. BL declined, but I think the officer then said why he had to have it for his file. I don't recall seeing them actually take the pictures, but you are right to recall that detail. Just thinking out loud because I remember asking myself what they needed the pictures for if they were not going to cite anyone.

They took pictures of scratches on BL That was part of evidence for the police report.

It's so interesting how people see the same things so differently! I honestly thought Brian was concerned about Gabby having a record...that his comments reflected how to avoid it--for her sake and for her future.
Experience and training - when we know better - we do better. Educate yourself as much as you can in the area where you live. That's why some saw the signs and had major concerns as soon as that bodycam footage was released.

Iirc, they photographed (or specifically filmed) marks on BL.

I’m referring to BL leaving marks/bruises on GP. Sorry for the confusion

  • #613
I don't see that anywhere in the lengthy and multiple articles at your link. Can you point your source out more specifically, please?
I can’t quote medical articles but I bruise easily and the bruises often appear within moments.

But you see, some of us do not think that she should ever have been threatened with jail. The call was about a male hitting a female and they and Brian twisted it so she was the aggressor.
She independently, in a different car, said the same thing Brian and one of the witnesses said.

They did assess the scratches on poor Brian's face.

They did. They didn't get her out the car and lift her shirt like they did BL, but they saw the scratch on her face, even touched it and touched some bruising on her arm. They asked her how it got there and at first, she said she didn't know. She guessed things like BL's fingernail from when he grabbed her face and she also said something about the backpack. She was crying, so it was hard to make out.

And I can't figure out how LE missed the hand prints on her arms.

They didn’t miss it. The issue was that the hand prints were indicative of BL being defensive not aggressive.

Ok, so if I understand correctly, they were talking about doing this early on in the convo, but they decided not to charge her toward the end, & just separated them for the night? And then there were no subsequent legal matters? If so, I will go back & delete as what I wrote is a misunderstanding & I don't want to contribute to any more misinformation!
Yes, that is what happened.

...And if LE or dog used that campsite to track him and catch him, the court isn't going to make them release him because they didn't properly process the can.

Okay, so hear me through. This is MOO - if he's caught, he's being held. He's not being released. They're gonna hold him. This will be granted https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.wyd.59306/gov.uscourts.wyd.59306.2.0.pdf IMO

And, MOO, processing the can or the plastic bottle that he had in the video that was in the post I replied to, may or may not yield anything of value. But, if it does, and he can't establish chain of custody and/or if it is contaminated, it's utterly useless and out. And, it just might have been something of value. MOO

Personally, i'd take her accounts with a grain of salt. I don't find her to be a credible witness, nor have I seen evidence of those two being "best friends". I know Rose has said this but I question it. IMO GP did not make the same claims through her posts.

When DV isn't packaged in black eyes and physical altercations it can be hard for others to recognize (like BL antagonizing and emotionally abusing GP). I am in no way excusing GP for hitting BL. I think this relationship was volatile, toxic and unhealthy for both of them, obviously it ended in murder.

I think BL was/is a master manipulator and was harmful to GP in myriad ways. Personally, when someone is an abuser I believe they work hard to hide it from the world. When they are exasperated and grasping they do whatever they can for attention. IMO BL is the former and GP is the latter.

Again, JMO and based on the small snippets we've all seen.
I don't see a reason to discredit Rose here.
Whether she's her best friend in Florida or her second best friend in the world makes no difference.

I was wrong, my apologies. I was informed on here because she wasn't charged, there was no pending court date. So sorry to share misinformation, it's not what I would ever want to do deliberately.
