I think so, but it could still be accidental. JMOO

But, IMO, it's only a matter of which degree at that point. Unintentional is involuntary (vs voluntary) manslaughter (IMO). It's still a death at the hand's of another (a homicide), and his flight, the 1K withdrawal or use, the new phone, and other factors widely reported as public facing facts, point to consciousness of guilt. Unfortunately for him, that consciousness of guilt completely tanks any involuntary defense he might have otherwise put forth. MOO/JMO/IMO, not fact.

I'd say Brian's family is primarily concerned about suicide. That's been my focus, too. But I think Brian has given a lot of thought to solo survival and what he'd do and where.

I remember solar panels in an Instagram photo. They're too big to comfortably strap to a backpack, but he knows how to use them.

An axe, knife, paracord and water purification are really all he needs. He can survive without a way to purify water, but giardia can severally dehydrate you, and untreated it can seriously compromise your health. You can make your own water purifier from different grits of sand and gravel and other found materials. Iodine drops and store bought filters only last so long.

We know Brian eats fish. An Instagram story shows him cooking salmon. You'd have to have a camp set up and some basic skills to know how to smoke, salt or dry fish for storage. It doesn't store for very long.

I know how to start a fire with a flint, magnification from a water bottle or eyeglasses, and friction, three different methods. It takes practice, but it's not difficult. He can burn a fire for cooking and warmth when it's dark, but smoke drift would be a concern. A rock formation or shallow cave would help protect the orange glow from being visible overhead.

Blueberries, cranberries, Labrador tea, rosehips for Vitamin C, plantain as a healing salve. The forests along the Appalachian Trail are brimming with food and medicine. There are books on AT foraging.

I had a cabin and a wood stove and would wake up with ice on my blankets, exhausted from the cold. The comforts of shelter only do so much to keep you safe. It's hard work and there's a lot to figure out.

It's not impossible, though.

As for people making fun of Brian for not wearing shoes, he's not alone in this. And for years my water bottle was a recycled glass jar until I bought a stainless steel Yeti. It's easy poking fun at something you don't understand or haven't experienced for yourself.

Oh, I thought they knew each other in high school also; 7 years?

Which reminds me to ask, does anyone know if their high school classmates have spoken about this?

Someone posted his yearbook pages here the other night and it had their photos! IIRC, it was his brother who went to school with them.

...and when they find him, if alive (and i think he is ), they will hope to learn, whether he had anything to do with her death, and if so, was it involuntary manslaughter, like a crime of passion, or premeditation, or intentional. Am i right or watching too much ID TV?

That's why I find it odd they haven't removed them or given them warnings or a fine yet. I feel bad for the neighbors, maybe they'll pressure them to talk.
I doubt the L's care one whit about anger neighbors right now.

Simplest answer is he killed himself in Carton Reserve.

Two things about that theory that bother me.

1. I read somewhere that people who intend to commit suicide generally want their body to be found.

2. If he killed himself (or even if he died via snake or alligator...) what has become of his belongings? According to LE he was wearing "a hiking bag with waist strap"

When he was seen, where he was seen, what he was wearing, what he took with him, all of those things were reported by the parents so I don't know whether to believe any, or all of it -- or not.

Honestly though, what even is a "hiking bag with waist strap"? Is it a backpack? Why didn't they describe it that way?

But when's enough is enough as far as the neighborhood wanting peace and quiet restored? LE needs to reign the circus in when other innocents are being persecuted by the madness. I think I would have lost it by now if all this was happening on my street because a fugitive's parents lived nearby.

I’d let the media and protesters stay on my lawn as a public service to put pressure on solving the case with certain rules: respect my house, carry in / carry out trash, tread lightly to try to preserve the lawn, and go to someplace with proper restroom when needed.

Hi everyone, I woke up today so deflated that’s he’s still free (assuming he’s alive, which I am still leaning toward, though who really knows). I had terrible nightmares about Gabby last night (scenarios of her last moments…) & I realize I’m too invested in this case, & need to step away for a little while. Her being framed as the aggressor, ending up murdered, & him running around—it confirms too many of my worst fears around women & DV, & I’m too triggered for my own good at the moment.

However, this WS community gives me so much hope. It’s touching that you all care about someone you never met, & want to celebrate her spirit & seek justice. I’ve gotten solace from this group. But I think I just need to take a mental health break until there’s some new developments. Be well everyone, & thank you for making WS a place of honour. <3

Oh wow. I was just looking at articles with quotes from their high school classmates; but they were all prior to Gabby being found dead - they were from when she was missing.

You be relaxed and at peace. We will see you when you are ready.

If I was LE and wanted folks to talk the pressure from protestors and neighbors work in my favor. Plus they have extra witnesses and eyes on the family. No way BL is gonna sneak in the back with those crowds + media.

I agree. It's all part of putting pressure on BL's family to try to get them to crack. That is most likely why the protesters have not been stopped. IMO it's a good strategy as the more stressful it is for the parents, the more likely they are to give LE information to make it all go away. Strangers yelling might not bother them but if their neighbors are upset with them, it could work. It's too bad that the neighbors have to listen to the circus but they can thank BL's parents for that. IMO.

Agreed. It was different when they thought they were looking for a missing person left in a wilderness area and were looking for clues that would lead to her. But now that the urgency is gone, it looks more like trying to make up for the embarrassment of losing him in the first place.
Nobody pays 1.5 million for a bit of embarrassment!

Q
From everything I've read here, it's very difficult and time consuming to start a YouTube channel. So six hours doesn't seem like a long time. The money they would eventually make would help fund their experience as Van lifers. Brian didn't seem to want to be a part of that, even though he told the officers they were a "team."

It sounds to me like he was willing to let her do all the work. How did he expect to continue using her van to go camping and hiking if he didn't at least support her or give her time? "Work before play," as my mom used to say.

Its.possible she was getting overwhelmed by it all and he tried to get her to step away!
He said he didn t think she could.do it!
6 hours.is a.long time!
Sometimes u just need.to.step.away

I listened to a video with coroners discussing the case and they were surprised at the quick response of manner of death without an associated cause of death. Obviously, cause of death may have been established and LE has chosen not to make that public. But it was also brought up that the coroner is very new to his position, and his credentials are that he is a primary physician doctor with family practice experience.

They wanted the public to know that it was clearly a homicide, and for the murder to be called murder - the evidence of which must have been undisputedable.

If they run out of tips in a case and chase all leads without finding anything, THEN it warrants scaling back the search because there would be nothing to go on. That is why they spend more resources on one case compared to others because they have a lot of leads to chase whereas other cases have completely run out of leads.
According to DTBH, he is receiving thousands of tips in this case. If he is receiving thousands of tips, LE could not be far behind in how many they are receiving. To scale it back while there are thousands of leads to follow up on would be asinine. IMO.
There is a bounty out there. Let the bounty hunters go at it. There are some cases out there that deserve more attention than this at this point.

I still think the car being left at the reserve was a decoy to buy more time for him to get away. I honestly do not think he is there. How do we know for sure that he actually returned back home after the camping trip with his parents ?
