Okay, I am seeing it is near the town of Mars Hill. With zip code 28754. This is so strange... So what is it exactly?

We have communities in NC that are very small and not even considered towns (legally speaking, I guess?). I assume it's one of those, but I can't say for sure.

It's very interesting she would say that. I definitely would not expect her mother to downplay that incident.
I am shocked, actually. I am thought she wanted to support victims of DV, in Gabby's memory? Maybe I have misunderstood, maybe it is only the missing, I really don't know. Jmo

Someone on this thread mentioned a scenario wherein BL could be shot by a vigilante or vigilantes. I just saw this tweet from a verified account so I'm hoping it is allowed. The person is a Tennessee state representative.

His words:

"This Laundrie dude has been spotted in Cocke county. Someone should have told him that this is the wrong place in TN to hide. My people will shoot thugs like this dead."

https://twitter.com/JeremyFaison4TN/status/1444755325815513092

HOW on earth can BL's parents be so calm when their son is out there being hunted!? Literally.

Time and time again I ask myself this, and time and time again I draw the same conclusion: they're not worried because they think they don't need to worry because they know he's safe somewhere.

They're chilling out gardening today in North Port whilst bounty hunters are talking about shooting their son dead!!

It is absolutely beyond belief, and utterly defies logic as far as how parents should be reacting!!

Sorry for all the exclamation marks, but I just cannot fathom their behaviour and apparent indifference and disregard for his welfare. I wonder if their behaviour towards him has always been this cold?

Even if I had secured my 'on the run son' some kind of safe house or bolt hole he was laying low in, I'd still be freaking out every minute of the day worrying that someone had tracked him down somehow.

I can only conclude they have very regular contact with him to allay any concerns they may have - but how!? How are they managing to maintain contact when they're being smothered by LE and the media??

Addressing reports of the incident on Wednesday, Gabby's mother, Nichole Schmidt told DailyMail.com: 'It's irrelevant.

'Two people traveling together with each other 24 hours a day, it's not going to be perfect, it was an argument, and that's all I'm going to say about it.'

Thank you. I recall now seeing that before, and remember thinking it was an odd statement [possible: she was intentionally trying to sound unbiased so if BL/his parebts saw/heard the statement they wouldn't be further put off].

That said, that's not the same thing as saying it was "normal" in her view.

I'd also expect she didn't want to have to consider that this person her daughter loved, who had been in her own life for [7] years, and with whom she had entrusted with her daughter's safety could possibly have killed her daughter.

I don’t think so. The airspace above their home isn’t private.

found this for Florida:

While a drone can fly over your house, a drone owner can’t use a drone to threaten or harass you. In addition, a drone owner can’t use a drone to capture images of a person if the same view wouldn’t be available from a public place. There is no prohibition on flying drones over houses in general; however, there are significant restrictions that protect the privacy of homeowners, including trespass, stalking, and privacy laws.

Yes, it is legal to fly a drone over private property in Florida. However, trespassing and nuisance laws apply to drone use over private property. In addition, under U.S. laws for small, unmanned aircraft, it’s illegal to fly a drone over a person who is not participating in the drone operation. Also, it’s illegal to use the drone to take a photo of any person on private property in a place where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy. While you can fly a drone over private property, there are significant restrictions, including restrictions on gathering images.

The website for Carlton Reserve says that it is currently closed. Are they still actively searching there? Or is the website wrong?

Yes, it is on this map and it does show that it's north of Asheville. However there are more than one community in North Carolina named California.

We are trying to suss this out. A poster sent coordinates to some place named California, NC which is in WNC not far from the AT sighting by Dennis Davis, near a town called Mars Hill. But I do not understand what it is.

He won’t take the interstate if he wants to avoid tolls and cameras. A lot of toll roads are using automatic photos which they mailed to the owner of the car.

Since know one knows he is traveling via automobile, traveling at night via interstate is the way he would go.

But, I doubt this was BL or that BL is near the AT.

But if BL really thinks Gabby is alive in his mind, why would he be on the run and hiding?
this...And why would he not explain he left her , took her van, the reason why, and why the parents would not relay this info to her frantic parents. IMO, BL was likely not entirely truthful with everyone he encountered, including his family. I'm not sure a really great fiance' would leave a young lady to go off on her own to CA. JMO..

I can’t link a Twitter post here that is showing the Laundries in their backyard gardening earlier today. Is it legal for a drone to capture and post that?
Google Earth has all of our homes captured from the air and publicly available. The current Google maps even shows the fall leaf color around my home.

It's very interesting she would say that. I definitely would not expect her mother to downplay that incident.

There have been multiple people - girlfriends of hers, his sister, etc - who knew them say that there relationship was up and down and that they did have fights, but none of them ever said BL hit her, even the girlfriend who GP went to stay with 7-10 times after they had fights didn't say he had ever hit her. The only place I have seen people say prior to the Moab stop that he was physically abusive to her are people on this site who aren't showing any real evidence other than their own conviction that he was. Even if its true that the sandsurfing video shows a bruise on the back of the neck that isn't proof. I mean, they are doing physical activities like sandsurfing and rock hopping and live in a tight space where stuff could fall on you at any moment.

MOO I do believe that the physicality of the relationship was quickly spirally upwards at a rapid pace as the pressures on them built up.

I’m surprised we’ve not heard of any leaked crime scene or autopsy reports. Saw the bullet holes they had sprayed on trees but who knows if they’re even connected.

Are you talking about Celo in Yadkin County ? I am so confused right now, but I really really want to figure this out.
Ok, Directions from Asheville and I gave the wrong road number earlier, sorry.

Asheville take North RT. E6 appears to be a two lane road, pass Elk MT on the right, Weaversville, Ivy Meadow all on right. Hey 19 turns to the right and just above, have to blow the map up to see California is a rural community., on the right.

I don't know how to screen shot and reduce to upload.

Moo...

She said that before Gabby’s body was found. I think she just wanted the public to concentrate on finding her daughter at that time and not get distracted with speculation, especially since Gabby was labeled the aggressor. Imo

If he's indeed on the run and trying to evade detection, it seems strange to me he'd mention anything about a fight with his girlfriend at all, as this recent witness has recounted the person he's so sure was Laundrie did. All while he's the sole person of interest in a homicide case involving his own fiancee? One would think he would avoid making any comments to anyone that might make him more recognizable.
I mostly tend to agree with what you're saying.

I guess on the flip-side someone could say that it couldn't be brian because he doesn't have a girlfriend.

I feel much more strongly that Brian wouldn't mention anything like this, though.

When I first viewed Gabby’s published videos, I was quite impressed…

With the content, her creativity, her presentation and the appealing aura.

My previous opinion of “van life" was: “Why on God’s green earth would anyone want to live like that?”

Gabby, however, made “van life” appear (to me) almost surreal and… quite appealing.

From what little I know of Gabby, she appears (to me) as lively, wholesome, enthusiastic, and embracing of all things good and happy.

Contrary to the term OCD, what Gabby used to describe herself during the Moab stop (and I firmly believe BL convinced her of this)...
I see a perfectionist, which, imo, is not OCD but different in that she appears (to me) to be meticulous, organized, thorough and like some folks imo, has personal boundaries accompanied by some pet peeves regarding personal space and/or immediate surroundings.

With that in mind…

I’m guessing/hoping Gabby most likely had an abundance of videos & footage of her & BL’s travels & interactions, perhaps in a designated folder for To-Be-Edited purposes…

And I’m also guessing/hoping Gabby probably had videos & footage(s) of BL acting other than publish-worthy… perhaps footage that she may have considered editing out and then using the edited parts at a later date for another publish-worthyvan life” video.

Does LE physically has Gabby’s computer? IDK

Did Gabby think to make back-ups?
As meticulous & thorough as she appeared to be, I would like to think she did.

I’m aware that in some homicide cases, victims have been known to speak from the grave in various ways that end up helping LE to solve their case.

I’m hoping this is one of those cases.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. To me they looked like vacation pictures, nothing spectacular. She should have spent her vanlife vacation, enjoying the scenery, take a lot of pictures, and not worried so much about starting up a business.

As I've previously posted becoming a influencer isn't easy. It's hard work and how she was attempting to do it wasn't practical, and it certainly wasn't necessary at the time. It takes a lot of content to not only interest people, but to keep them coming back. That's not achievable while your doing the actual traveling.

She was young and of course needed to learn from her mistakes, and to gain knowledge on photography. She had no experience with either, knowledge, experience, and business experience. I give her credit and it was certainly a good start for her, but she had the wrong traveling companion. IMOO

I don't know why I feel this was, but I think BL was sort of tagging along on HER journey, her adventure, and his idea of how it was going didn't match her's. She seemed like a free bird and him not so much. That may be why the tension level was off the charts to the point where there were witnesses to physical confrontations.

This is all just my opinion and it should not reflect me saying Gabby was a bad person or wrong in what she was trying to do, only that she was young and on a adventure without much experience and with a un-supportive partner who created a negative atmosphere. She shouldn't have been killed either because someone else was unhappy, jealous, controlling, threatening.

What are their choices of behavior? What would be normal? Best case scenario for them, their son is found only to stand trial for a charge that may very well get him killed anyway. He effectively killed their son along with their future DIL. No matter what kind of parents they were or actions they've taken, they didn't kill GP. They didn't deserve all this. They don't want it. No matter what they do now, they're screwed. Gardening is probably just a distraction from the hell that is their life. JMO

I’m wondering if she perhaps finds it too painful or guilt-producing to be forthright about it.

It may seem callous and like Gabby's mom is downplaying what happened. But it sounds to me like she's only commenting on what she knows about their relationship. I never questioned this.

Mod Note:

We are starting to lose focus that this thread is about Gabby and the current search for Brian.

Mental Health: Only bring it into the discussion if it is a statement in media or LE reports. Do not expand beyond what has been provided to us regarding Gabby and/or Brian and mental Health.

Domestic Violence: Many posters here have stories. In our own personal ways, we all have stories. The challenge we have in these threads is the separation of our personal stories and the focus of the thread.

This thread is about Gabby's story.

As mods, we have hearts, we care about each of you, and it is hard to delete a post on thread that may include your personal story. However, we have to remind ourselves this is about Gabby's story. Please keep her the focus of the thread.

This seems like a good time to bring this forward from the first page of every thread. A good reminder to us all. :)
