Knowingly - she was dead and cannot have given him permission to use the cards/funds
When I give someone my card, they don't have to ask permission each time they use it. Until I ask for it back they are free to use it however they like.

Totally agree. Even the Manager at the the Merry Piglet says he can't remember the exchange. He later goes on to say they were there though on their FB page.

Total Merry Piglet still seems odd to me. Witnesses do seem to be unreliable at times, we fill in facts we assume with our "in and out listening". Watch a movie more than once and see how much you missed the first time. You see.... hear something and your mind wonders....to the past, reminiscing, or anything that caused your mind to go elsewhere. Even just in vision we fill in frames.

I've seen this mentioned a few times - that there was an imprint of a tent near Gabby's body. Do you have a link to that, by chance? All I've seen is the interview with Gabby's stepfather where he says there was an old fire ring and a flat spot with "space" for a tent, not that there was evidence a tent was actually there. tia!
It is in Part 2 of the Dr Phil interview with her parents.

Thank you! I wonder what 'the other two places' were?

One of the two places was the cell phone store. I believe people think it was an AT&T store.

As far as I know, only one person has said that there were boots next to her, and it was from an aerial photo, so there may or may not have been boots or hiking shoes. I'm taking descriptions of the area being a set-up camping scene, with a tent and campfire with a grain of salt. JMO
I feel like if GP's step-father was on scene, being shown the exact location and position of where her body was found (per his Dr. Phil interview), then his account of a possible tent location and a fire pit carry weight. That's just my take.

And as for it being unrelated to GP and BL, what are the chances she would end up by a fire pit?

That's fine but technically not legal.

It almost sounds like the restaurant did something to upset Gabby and Brian was defending her. Just to give a different spin on things.
Interesting. I’ve wondered why the restaurant quickly distanced themselves from the incident and media. I kinda understand but it hit me wrong. Possibility for sure…

Remember SB has no obligation to tell the truth to anyone but LE. And he can choose silence with them.
It has occurred to me also, that if he really did ever speak to Brian before he took off for parts unknown, that he may have advised him that since no one has charged him with any crime, he is as free as a bird to go wherever he wants for however long he wants---which is true, but it may have been said so as not to appear to be encouraging Brian to "get lost"! jmo ......when, that's exactly what it was.

we don't know for certain if they relate to GP and/or BL imo
Well, the information came from her parents on the Dr Phil interview.
That's as much as we know.

Why not? I looked up my tos and the bank is ok with it. They just caution that I will be responsible for all charges.

I have a question. On August 27, Red, White & Bethune saw the van and have a video of that. Then Elk Hunters spot the van August 29, per the timeline. Is the van in the same spot or had it moved? For some reason I have confused the Elk Hunters with the RW&B family, thinking they are the same. tia
No, the Bethunes and the elk hunters were totally unconnected, which is probably why police took the reports seriously and searched at Spread Creek. Without those reports it might have taken weeks longer to discover the body. This article is not that clear, but it seems to say the elk hunters saw the van at the Spread Creek camp site on the 29th in the same place as the Bethune video.

Thank you for sharing. Since Gabby’s parents have been very outspoken in their desire for their daughter’s life to bring meaningful change to the world, I think they would appreciate your message.
She already has. Gabby's homicide is shining a bright light on important topics that are sparking dialogue, and hopefully changes. People everywhere are trying to figure out how this seemingly much in love young couple could end up so tragically. Could this have been prevented? I've been asking myself that ever since the debate of the Moab LE stop began.

I think that the only way to prevent such tragedies starts way before LE intervention. It starts with education (hopefully at home), but in the schools; what a healthy relationship looks like, warning signs of trouble, and what to do if there is trouble. I will also say that while this educational and collective conscious shift is underway, there needs to be zero tolerance policies in institutional settings that help irradiate certain behaviors. I am seeing progress there, but much more is needed.

Whether abusive and dangerous behavior is a result of mental imbalance, chemical abuse, or entitlement, we have to decide as a society that there is zero tolerance for it. And this is where i believe Gabby's death is going to make a difference. "Let it be"....the catalyst for change.

Amateur opinion and speculation

Not hard to imagine a conversation with SB laying it all out was the final impetus to run.

They made a facebook post confirming it had been Gabby and Brian on that day. They stated they had spoken to the FBI and were not prepared to disclose any further details to anybody. Short and sweet but I had the impression they had been hounded by people since she broke the story.

I imagine they will also have provided the FBI with oth.er diners' details so they too could be contacted

All very good thoughts. The only trouble for me is, I just cannot believe the FBI would spend the extensive time and resources at the Carlton reserve, unless some extremely important intelligence were guiding them. Sure hope I haven’t placed too much faith in them….
Very logical point, and it would seem so?
If anything, i speculate the reserve was a "launching pad", but I doubt he was there very long.

Why are his parents so nonchalant? I realize everyone oscillates differently, but their countenance is bizarre given the circumstances.

Yes, I agree. But there's a difference between a "possible tent location" and an "imprint from a tent." I've read the latter alot (which implies G&B set up a tent) but it doesn't seem that's what her stepfather said. I don't do primitive tent camping anymore but I wouldn't expect to find a fire ring in a place there was no flat area to pitch a tent anyway. But a flat area does not mean a tent was there recently.

Good question. On last night's special, and even with the RW&B video, the CNN crew had trouble finding that exact spot. So maybe it's not so easy to say that for both sightings was it the exact same spot or just somewhere near there.

I think her apologizing for BL outburst might have even set him off with her more.

It is my belief that he was enraged when they left the restaurant and returned to their camping site. Gabby's apologizing to the restaurant staff could have enraged him further. I think he killed her that night.

He may have then taken off then on foot when he snapped out of it . I also wonder if his immediate request to be let out of the vehicle upon finding out they were going to Jackson (not Jackson Hole as he may have thought) was due to a fear he might be recognized and remembered by anyone in town who witnessed his behavior at the Merry Piglets and wondered where his g/f was.

I think he had no choice but to return to the van and drive it off.

But you are not dead, unless you are participating from the Great Beyond. Gabby was dead when he used her card/funds to return to Florida.
