You know I wonder if he has been on the run since even before she was reported missing. Has anyone even visually seen the guy since this all broke out in the media? What if his parents are helping by giving him time to get a head start.

would explain the silence. Nothing, nada. Not even the typical “we fought and she took off on foot. Without her vehicle” excuse.

A thought on why Brian's sister made a statement - she says she wishes she could talk to him.. maybe she's tried to contact him and he won't talk to her? Maybe the parents are keeping him from speaking with anyone.. maybe that's her attempt to get Brian/their parents to at least speak with her or cooperate.

I’m just thinking of reasons why he would take the van home
1) lack of money for airfare
2) Leaving the van there would (eventually when vehicle found), give LE an indication of the last known route. Whether or not GP was in it or not.
3) something specific in the van that he wanted to clean and he wanted to do it where he felt safe.
Any thoughts?

Is there any public evidence that he drove the van home to Florida completely alone, for the whole time? It's possible that they could have agreed to abort the trip and headed home, and that he "lost" her somewhere between GTNP and Florida. Unlikely, but possible. And how do we know that he arrived home on September 1 in the first place?

MOO

They’d let the police know where she was, and the police would drop the investigation, without revealing any details except that she had been found alive.

HIPAA does not authorize a facility to let several jurisdictions of LE, as well as the FBI, continue on a multi-week wild-goose/chase.

MOO

The facility weighs the patient's health versus the public's right to know, and virtually 100% of the time they err on the former. Unless there is a court order or voluntary patient authorization, of course. Again, law enforcement can request that information, and a facility can even oblige that request and not violate HIPAA. It doesn't mean they will though, and rarely do without authorization or court order.

As for her calling home, what if she doesn't want to or doesn't yet have the capacity to do so?

When GP mentioned her really bad OCD to LEO (about the fight) she said she just wanted to clean the van. Then BL says he’s dirty, has sand on his feet and shoes due to camping and that she got mad about it. IOW’s she’s a neatnik and was PO’d he made a mess. I can relate to that. It doesn’t mean she was mentally ill.

She was hot, they were out of water because BL won’t drink out of a plastic bottle and instead of filling their 6 gallon H2O tank in town he was driving to The Arches campsite. He was being a control freak by making her go without water. She was dehydrated.

BTW, she asked LEO first thing if they had any water and drank it down in the patrol car. Then after that she walked to her van with 3 more bottles they gave her for the road.

The reason IMO they stayed at the Cafe from 9-3 is because of free WiFi and AC. Maybe free water, too, but they weren’t stopped until 2+ hours later and a small person can dehydrate quickly in that heat. The temp that day was 95-97. Even in a van with the AC going it’s hot and they were driving into the direct sun.

I think she wanted him to stop at the shaded Visitors Center, get some water and let her clean out the van before driving all the way to the campsite. It was too hot to do all that in the middle of nowhere. But he wouldn’t agree because he was behind the wheel. And that’s how the fight started. IIRC he even mentioned to LEO he still wanted to go camp at the site that night if she went to jail.

I agree with all of this. Also, even though they're camping, it's still possible to be clean. I lived in a desert for a year out of a tank with a bunch of dudes & we kept 🤬🤬🤬🤬 as clean as we could & if we couldn't, we'd clean when we got back from whatever mission. So I don't think her wanting him to be clean is unreasonable at all.

Aside from Gabby's being missing, the MOST disturbing thing about all of this is that no 911 call was made...by anybody.
Exactly, all that led up to her disappearance, the altercation, her IG posts, etc, are only snap shops of what may be insights into who they are, their relationship but certainly not enough info to adequately access their relationship. Manufactured SM posts in hopes of creating a following don’t tell the reality. The "why” of her disappearance, the dynamics of their relationship is almost irrelevant at this point, tracing their path in hopes that it leads to GP is the only relevant info needed.

People have questioned why the couple stopped posting or why the style of their social media posts seemed to change after the issue with police but I think it actually makes sense given the circumstances. If Gabby’s goal was to become a travel-esque influencer under the pretense of being a picture perfect van life couple then that police report existing had to be troublesome for her. Because if they were to ever get big on the platform like I suspect they wanted if only to be able to monetize it would’ve made them public figures so the chance of that police report surfacing eventually would’ve shattered the illusion they created online. So I could see her maybe taking a step back to reevaluate.

Ok. And what does that matter at this point? He left without her in her van. Ok. What does it being hers matter when she’s missing? That is the main point. Charging him with theft or claiming theft is the least of anyone’s worries while she’s still missing. And like I said, for all intents and purposes, to everyone involved, they both put equal time into it. Her van was her van sure, but she wasn’t even that comfortable driving it so the legality of it is so insignificant to what the main issue is here.

I think, in part, because she was trying so hard to get into the van the night they had the quarrel that attracted LE. She did not want to be locked out of that van so it’s not likely she would turn it over and wave goodbye when he decided to go home. I’m sure she didn’t want to be stranded but if statements by her friends can be trusted she loves that van.

As for legality, it would be nice if he could be detained (kept from travel) for suspicion of theft. But it doesn’t sound like that can happen without Gabby.

I dont believe most facilities would allow a nationwide search effort for a missing woman continue if they could notify law enforcement without publicity and ensure she was alive. MOO

I have to wonder if there was any evidence in the van that BL knew he had to eliminate, thus his driving it back to North Port.

I kind of have an idea of what may have happened to GP but it's more for an off the forum discussion.

…..kind of confused. You’re saying NOBODY can make any judgment based off of BL’s demeanor, but it’s ok to label GP as naive, unstable, and lacking mental strength based off of her demeanor?

Well yeah - because we are looking at BL and thinking, is he doing x or is he doing y? We don't know, only he knows.

Looking at GP - we KNOW she is crying. That's fact. We KNOW she is anxious. That's fact. We know she has OCD. That's fact. We know she is lacking mental strength because of the VERY VISIBLE BREAKDOWN she is having on the bodycam.

We are not left thinking, oh is she happy? Is she sad?

With BL we don't know what he is trying to convey.

Something else that has bothered me about the police can video-

Their campsite that night was planned to be in Arches- Gabby wasn’t comfortable driving the van.

The only campsite in Arches is *17 miles* into the park with no cell service. Would she have been comfortable driving 17 miles into the park when she was concerned about Brian’s hotel room being across Moab from her, which is not a very big town?

So it’s probably safe to assume she didn’t stay at the campsite in Arches that night.

As someone who has had an interest in crime for many years, I can't tell you how many times unsolved disappearances began with a boyfriend letting an upset girlfriend or wife out of the car, driving away, returning after "cooling off" and finding her gone.
Sometimes, its not the people involved, but the environment of the unexpected they occupied and the unanticipated humans who inhabited it.

I would observe just the opposite. How many times have we heard of a boyfriend/husband say "she was really mad and got out of the car" in some completely remote area in the wee hours? And it always seems to turn out she didn't do that at all - he killed her elsewhere and tried to act like she had wandered off.

Having just been through a jury seating, that's how lawyers refer to people, especially if they are people about whom they are personally unfamiliar.

We really don't know this yet. Her family made it sound like the van was her own acquisition.
It makes sense for an attorney to use that language but the articles I’ve read say it is a statement from BL. Maybe it should have been billed as a statement by his attorney.

Very true. But if that were the case here, there would be no logical reason for BL to not advise where she was dropped off or where he last saw her and do what he could to find her rather than driving home without her and seemingly hoping people would forget she existed..I just can’t wrap my head around an innocent reason for his actions…
