The area where the notebook was found had been searched before but also had been under around 4 feet of water.

Any ink that survived that amount of water would, in my opinion, be illegible. If there is a personal account of what happened, I’m venturing that it’s a nice creative writing piece constructed by a ghost writer. IMOO.
i remember when they found the body of Alfonzo (ZOE) he had been in a creek bed for like 4 months and all the paper in his wallet was still legitable.

I was discussing this with my husband and I agree that if he is "the" person of interest they should come out and say that because the use of the word "a" means that there is potentially a murderer out there responsible for Gabby's death that isn't BL.

To me it makes a lot of sense to call someone a POI if they have not been interviewed yet. Maybe everything LE knows only suggests one potential perp. But that person might give additional information which suggests a different perp. At that time LE has 2 POI’s. Or, maybe everything the initial POI says and/or doesn’t say strengthens the evidence against them. Then, the POI, having been interviewed, might become a suspect.

I wasn't trying to make you uncomfortable Claire, I'm so sorry if I did. I just thought that homicide by manual strangulation is murder since strangling someone is not as quick a death as say gunshot, stabbing or bludgeoning so the thinking about what you're doing to another human being is a more premeditated act of murder. AJMO Again I apologize sincerely if I caused you to be upset.
Thank you, It wasn’t anything nasty said or anything, I was getting a lot of replies to my post and it was getting overwhelming. I always thought it was/would be murder, it was just odd that it changed from homicide to murder today when remains were found, whether a slip of the tongue or maybe they can say that now because they believe BL to be dead (just a theory)
Strange timing is all. Usually the FBI are tight lipped. IMO

Re: That other black part isn't the part the clip goes into? I don't know what to call it. <----(I can no longer quote that post so manually brought it over)

Could what's seen hanging out the top of the bag at both ends be BLs hiking bag? It's apparently what he was last seen wearing. You can clearly see one side of the clasp on the right side, I drew a red circle around the other end of the clasp on the left side in the event someone missed it against the dark background. I was Googling for BL fanny pack since that's what those clasps looked like to me. I was going to look at images to see if I could find him wearing a fanny pack which I have seen in the past (I recall that people made fun of it because it was worn off center). I instead landed on the article below. Not sure why the clasps would be hanging out the sides of the top of that rolled down bag through. Seems an odd way to carry a hiking bag off if that's what those are attached to. You'd think they'd be inside the white bag, not hanging out the top. Originally I thought those clasps were part of the white bag and couldn't figure out how you'd wear something like that. LOL I wish we had answers on what exactly we're seeing in that pic as I find it a tad confusing.

As per the linked MSM below, it says: "Investigators are still asking the public for help in locating Brian. They say he is a white male, 5-foot-8 and weighing 160 pounds. He has brown eyes, very short brown hair, trimmed facial hair, and was last seen wearing a hiking bag with a waist strap."

This seems similar to the white bag with straps seen in the driver seat of Gabby's van in the Red White and Bethune video captured when the Bethune's passed it parked alongside the creek area where Gabby's body was later found.

picking up litter or drinking?
The mention of the water bottles had me thinking the same. Kinda weird his parents purchased water yesterday. Not that I’m saying they were supplying him with water.

I remember that! That was ODD!

still "a" and not "the" imo - I'm not saying there isn't anyone else, but they aren't saying he's the only one imo
yes they are since no one else is a POI IMO

I am having troubles seeing anything. I see some sort of big white (perhaps plastic) item under the tent. Is it near that item?

I’m saying LE has been searching that area - the park - & kept the park closed. They’ve even kept places closed when they were waiting for waters to recede. Idk why they opened the park if they hadn’t searched everywhere they were told by the parents BL frequented.
I was thinking maybe it was a case of BL wanting his body found so he killed himself nearer to the entrance (which was more flooded too) LE was going more on a fugitive train of thought (not criticizing as they probably took some cues from the apparent lack of urgency BL's parents seemed to have) So LE started going more into the reserve than where BL was, looking for an alive fugitive hiker not a deceased person.

All afternoon folks here and on TV keep saying the police could not have found the body because it was under water - until now. So NOW that the water has receded, they stopped looking and opened the park? Police just gave up even though there were new places to search? What? And only BL's family could find him by searching right beside the parking lot? Sorry, but this seems strange and illogical. JMOO
I think the money was running out.
LE has spent an awful lot of resources on this expensive search.

Maybe thru pre-arrangement the notebook and backpack were placed higher up than the water would ever get? If the Laundries picked up the evidence and walked 20-30 minutes before turning it over to LE, how does anyone know where they really found it? IMO
I need to know law in USA about L's collecting BLs backpack and taking it to LE. In Australia, would be considered tampering with evidence. Why didn't they just holler out for LE instead of putting it in bag.

I'm way behind so sorry if this has been brought up. In watching this video of them finding remains excuse me if I'm wrong. But, doesn't that look like a body with most of the legs missing under the white tent. I'm not saying this to be a smart 🤬🤬🤬 or joking in anyway, but, it definetly looks like a butt/buttocks and upper body. Has anybody else seen this? Be sure to click right lower corner to maximize the video.

I honestly don't see it

I hope it brings Gabby's parents/ loved ones some peace. (if possible).

I too find much troubling about what BL's parents have or have not done and have much more empathy for GP's family.

Hard to say just how much the Laundries have covered for BL and how much they might have actually cooperated with LE. The attorney that was hired did not help much as he is evidently an idiot.

As of today, two families have lost a loved child where the couple was thought to have a long and bright future. Just so sad

So it could be large enough to to hold about 20-40 liters worth of hiking gear, and they also have versions with straps like a backpack. All just IMO of course.

That reminded me of the reported description of what Brian was wearing when he left for the hike. I remember being disappointed and wondered why the emphasis was on a waist stap for the backpack....does anyone else remember that? Maybe that was because it wasn't a typical backpack so additional info was provided.

my theory is the FBI either knew or suspected he was a suicide risk and didn’t want to stress him out further than necessary to apprehend him - hence the lower warrant for unauthorised card usage, so he can’t hide out legally but doesn’t have the pressure of being wanted in connection with a homicide/murder.

ETA: the amount of stuff he took with him may have been a factor, I know as a mental health patient how much stuff I was last seen with would massively influence the response in terms of search efforts (inappropriately dressed for the weather, no obvious means of support would both be big red flags).

Yes, I see that. At the beginning of the video. Later the tree hides it.

Is there any proof the BL's family found anything?

I’ve seen bags like this . One side clicks into the other side.

They would not have been there during the flooding MOO. They would have fled for higher ground. MOO, as I am not a Dr. Doolittle expert, of course.
Yes, wildlife is displaced when their habitat is flooded.
But they will return when the water recedes.
