The agents were on the other side of that trail. That's where they found the backpack and partial remains.

I totally realized that, but it wasn't close enough. Not close enough apparently for CL to wait with the bag until his wife found the FBI.

What programs in America carry the biggest cheque book?

There's nothing stopping the Laundries selling their story, right or wrong it will be there for the taking.

I betcha & I'm a betting girl.
Wonder if Gabby's family would sue them in that instance if they tried to make money off of Gabby's tragic murder.

I can't imagine any of those 4 letting the L's get away with that without a fight of some kind.

That is definitely quite a big rip in the bottom of the bag. What do you think is poking out? Looks like something hard, black and angular. Phone, laptop, charging station, butt of a gun???

There's a large black book in the bag, and a couple fallen leaves from a tree.

At first glance I thought that bag had a hole, but now I think the black bits at the bottom are part of another latch system similar to what's at the top -- for keeping the bag rolled up or compressed or however one would describe the mechanics of how a dry bag works.

MOO
I agree. I don't think it's ripped, I think that's a clip. MOO

My mom continually asked me today how B's remains could be found if he were completely underwater (her words based off her takeaway from news reports). Hanging, I said. Same with the preservation of his notebook. Without going into graphic detail that's the best explanation I could give her.
You may be on to something!

Sad. All the way around. Two beautiful young people are gone, their families and friends are heartbroken and their loss is great.

There is nothing to be learned here. It's done. May they both rest in peace.
I just can’t agree.. BL is not a beautiful young person. He is a murderer who stol a beautiful young woman’s life from her.
Also, it’s not been confirmed that it’s him. I won’t believe it is until it’s stated so.

Was Diesel anywhere near that area where remains were found. Did he say? jmo
So the clip isn’t on YouTube yet, but I went back & watched it again. It is when she is talking to Brian Entin at the beginning of the show. She said that that the “Pasco County Sherriff’s Office was very clear with [her] about the prowess of Diesel” & that the water absolutely would not have stopped him from hitting on a scent. But they specifically mention Diesel & call him out. But do not mention if he was searching that specific area.

Imagine if D and P, not real ppl, had a daughter or son go missing. They initially waited 4 days to report the disappearance, and added the next day that a car was involved. Then a few weeks later they just happened to remember that their child really went missing the day BEFORE they first said.

This is WS. I don't have to imagine the uproar.

Yet real ppl did what I just described.

Their child could still be alive had they not played the above games, imo. Which is why I do believe the plan went awry, they never expected him to take his own life, and IMO he didn't. Imo he was supposed to report in, for example on their outing yesterday, but he did not. So, they get very concerned and take a beeline to where they last saw him.

There is no other way to explain the nonchalant attitudes until today.

Jmo
In this scenario I take it we're discounting everything SB said about when he was reported missing?

Actually, "committing suicide" apparently is a term that should be updated/changed. They are saying 'died by suicide' is a better way or putting it. JMO....

“The term ‘committed suicide’ is damaging because for many, if not most, people it evokes associations with ‘committed a crime’ or ‘committed a sin’ and makes us think about something morally reprehensible or illegal,” said Jacek Debiec, an assistant professor in the University of Michigan’s department of psychiatry who specializes in post-traumatic stress and anxiety disorders.

'Died by suicide' sounds a far better way of referring to suicide, agree

If it is Brian, he may just have been plain clumsy, .. all his yap about 'doing the Appalachian , living off peanuts and oreos'... terrific hiker, outdoorsy bloke, all this blag, he may just have been immensely clumsy, just fell in a deep creek hole, it happens.

A sort of cosmic karma, too.. it could be seen that way..

I do think they’re stating this cautiously, but that they are more certain than they suggest. I say this because human bones are formed quite differently than other types of animal bones, for example the unique arrangement of the osteons inside our bones. These would be discernible to a trained eye like the medical examiner, for example. JMO

During decomposition the human body eventually begins a process of disarticulation which means the limbs will become disconnected from the body piece by piece.

A couple of posts related to or questioning the WS victim friendly policy have been removed.

Bumping my post from an earlier thread to explain our WS victim friendly policy in relation to discussion of BL's parents. Any further questions should be directed to a Mod or an Admin via private message, not discussed on the thread.

ADMIN NOTE:

Websleuths would be remiss and irrelevant in the true crime community if we did not allow our members to speculate to a reasonable degree on what is being publicly presented.

When individuals become public figures by speaking to the media or being extensively covered in the media, what they have to say and what we view is up for public discussion, opinion, and reasonable speculation.

The public has to apply common sense to what is being publicly stated by individuals. If common sense tells us that something is pretty hinky, we discuss hinky. The limitation is we do not allow members to make blatant insinuations, direct or indirect accusations against anyone not named as a POI.

Things like "she said such and such which doesn't jive with blah blah" are okay. What is not okay are things like "she said such and such and therefore she knows" or "she's definitely covering for him", etc. You can indicate that you find something suspicious, but please don't state it as fact. Make sure you state it is only your opinion.

Members are not Mods. If you have an issue with how the discussion is going, just Report the post without chastising other members for how they are discussing this case.

Thank you.

Welcome to Thursday Oct. 21, 2021

We have been in this together since September 11. Thank you for being here, and thank you for your care and compassion in finding justice for Gabby. Wishing comfort to all that have been impacted by this tragedy. That includes each of you that have been here following day in and day out.
I can only speak for myself, but even with differing points of view at times among Posters, I do believe the hearts that engage here, are and continue to be, in the right place.

Be sure to take care of yourself along the way.

Appreciate You,
Tiff

I really feel like after five-and-a-half weeks, LE was looking at this more as a recovery operation than a manhunt. If they were worried about forensic evidence on the white bag, like fingerprints, then LE would not be handling it themselves with bare hands.

Brian Laundrie: Human remains found in Florida nature park

Based on this idea, I wonder if maybe LE felt they had searched the area as thoroughly as possible for the time being, but with additional plans to search again when the water levels fully receded. IMO, if LE thought there was a threat to the public, or that there was a crime scene within, they would not have opened the park. If they thought there might be the remains of a suicide, however, just how long were they supposed to keep a public area closed? If somebody falls into a public lake and drowns, and the body is not recovered for over a month, would they continue to keep the lake closed indefinitely? Just my random thoughts on the issue.

In regards to the notebook, I am cautiously optimistic that there might be some answers in there. BL brought it along for a reason, and putting pen to paper is a tactile, personal, almost intimate choice, whether to draw or write. I suspect the dry bag was to protect the notebook from the FL rains, and since he basically told his parents where he was going, and left the car nearby, I’d say he wanted to be found, along with his notebook. I picture him hiking down that trail, sitting next to the water, writing whatever he wrote, taking a moment to contemplate over Gabby, then putting an end to it all. JMO.

JUST IN: I’m told more human remains detection K9’s from Pasco County Sheriff’s Office have been sent out to the Carlton Reserve in addition to the one already sent out yesterday to help after human remains were found near #BrianLaundrie’s backpack and notebook.

Why? Is it not typical practice to wear gloves with potential crime scene, potential "other" unknown occurrence scene etc..?
