Depending on the firearm used it would move given the water but probably wouldn't have gone very far unless the water was rapids. MOO
The weight would have made it sink quite quickly even in flowing water. Hope somebody had the thought of metal detector to look in the area.

If they didn't, it's the most rinky dink investigation into a death in a pond I've ever seen - but we may never know. The fraud charge will likely be dropped, and suicides are typically treated as private matters by LE.

IOW, LE would be quietly saying they don't think someone else killed him.

As a parent, I'm not sure how I would feel about the lack of cause. Part of me doesn't want to know. The other part of me does, in the hopes that it was quick and painless. Listening to them describe my husbands last moments was the hardest thing I've ever had to hear. But not knowing might be worse. I don't know...

I can't imagine how that feels. I'm sorry for your loss.

I might want to know if it was a wilfull death or not, but only to understand what their mindset was before it happened. Details would be too much for me.
As a parent i can sympathize with the Laundries, no parent should bury their child. It broke my heart to realize I was watching footage of CL and RL being notified about Brian's remains being found in the reserve that day. CL reminds me of my own father in some ways, trying to have a brave face while silently tears are streaming down.
I don't agree with all of the Laundrie's actions, but we can all agree this is not the future they dreamed of for their son.

I sincerely hope the media does not combine the murder of Gabbie as being the same as the finding of BL's remains. Gabbie and her family deserve more respect than that.
Agreed.
The true victims in all of this are Gabby and her family.
Let's hope the media doesn't lose sight of that.
And this investigation is very much open, for which we can be grateful.
Gabby's family are still wanting answers that they need; and this has to be the hardest wait for them !
Imo.

Per Bethunes, they said they put the video online on Sept 19th after reporting to FBI earlier that same day.
Yes. As you can see, I corrected my original post. jmo

Can someone try linking BE’s story from tonight?

So, did they install cameras at the Laundries. If so, wouldn't they have to have permission?
Looking at Brian Entin's tweets and the other known cameras, none of them were on the L families property.

“It is an area that they had said was a potential for Brian,” Taylor said. “I can tell you that area was searched multiple times but mostly with airboats, I mean that gives you an idea of the condition that the area was in.

Taylor even said Brian’s father, Chris Laundrie, had been out there roughly two weeks before and wasn’t able to get on and see the area.

NBC2 Reporters Megan Myers and Samantha Serbin got answers to some of the most asked questions surrounding the discovery of Laundrie’s remains and this case.
NPPD's Josh Taylor speaks one-on-one about the discovery of Brian Laundrie's remains
Yup and airboats, or blow boats as we’ve always referred to them, literally glide along the top of the water. Even if they were creeping along slowly, it would have been difficult to see anything submerged. The muck means zero visibility. They’d have to use a long pole to poke the water if they thought they saw something.

Note, an alligator can jump 5’ straight up in the air. They’d be foolish to go poking around in a swamp. They had to wait for the water to recede in the interest of safety.

It is very fortunate that our hurricane season slowed. If it hadn’t, BL may not have been found for months.

One of the things I held off on reporting -- but now will because Brian Laundrie is confirmed dead. Police installed hidden cameras around the house -- including this camera in a neighbor's yard behind the house. This particular camera was installed after Brian went missing.

Was this after he went missing on the 13th or when the Ls talked to NPPD on the 17th, I wonder?

What date did they install cameras? Around Sept 1st or during the first raid?
Did he return on Sept 6th from DeSoto campgrounds or was that his last day?

How would anyone have known to install cameras on Sept 1? Gabby's parents weren't calling yet, only a license plate reader knew he was there (to be found later).

No one knows if he returned from DeSoto, but since he was found near where the Mustang was parked on Sept 13, it only makes sense that (as his parents claim) he drove to the Preserve that night (about 6 miles from where they would eventually establish the main staging area).

It is such an odd feeling, to be torn between needing to know and not wanting to know.

Brian Entin follow up tweet stated:

"North Port Police today talked to me today about the cameras. They say there are other cameras that went up sooner -- before Brian disappeared."

Personally, I have always surmised that BL was upset with the results of the conversation with SB the day he ran. Perhaps he was being advised to do what so many of us thought he should do - negotiate a plea, give up her location and surrender. Or maybe he just got the facts of life of what he was likely facing in the case against him. But it has always stuck with me hard that the day he speaks with SB is the day he runs.

IMOO he figured the gig was up, began to or confessed to parents, they connected with legal advise, thinking probably do the right thing, during which he said i gotta go clear my head.......and seems he did just that.

Those don't appear to be 'hidden' to me. and sorry BE but duh.....eyes were all over that house. How'd everyone let the guy sneak out?

Could it have floated away?

at a loss for words on this one.......i'd find one if only i could stop laughing.

Seems we need to take everything Bertolino says with not just a grain of salt, but an entire dump truck load of salt.

The truth will come out eventually. I hope.

Seriously, what number are we on as far as misspoken comments, dates, etc from him??

I don’t like that he is so upset about the general speculation surrounding his clients when they wouldn’t budge on any communication as to Gabbys whereabouts.

I thought SBs explanation of the discovery of Brian's remains to be common sense and very believable. I was impressed that he kept his temper as well as he did with the reporter asking such ridiculous questions.
What questions exactly were ridiculous? I'd say we all want to know the answer to them all and he won't talk.

No wonder they knew exactly where he was.

On Nancy Grace’s show today, Joe Scott Morgan said something super interesting to me. Warning. It’s a bit graphic. But idk any other way to say what he was saying. LE said they found a partial human skull. He said that the word that stands out to him the most is the word “partial.” That the human skull is robust & very very strong. Making him question how did the skull of all things end up in a “partial” state. Even considering outside elements (weather, scavengers, etc.), the skull being “partial” was very significant to him just considering how robust & strong the human skull is. Then to take into account they had enough there to get a match on the dental records was also a significant piece of info to him considering something had to have happened to leave a strong bone like the skull in a “partial” state. Idk…when he said that I was like…hmmm. It really got me thinking.. & I had not thought of it like that before. I thought it was super interesting so I thought I’d share. JMO.
I thought the same thing. We will hopefully find out soon!

No wonder they knew exactly where he was.

So LE/FBI knew exactly where BL was...this whole time. explains...
But allowed him to hike/camp at the reserve just kept eyes on him? or...

wow, this brings up many more questions.
Lots of twists and turns in this case.
