I have looked at a lot of maps, read through all the official documents including the search warrant, arrest warrant, FBI posters, and statements. I have watched all the interviews and was present online during pivotal moments. I have heard the discrepancies, heard the clarifications, and considered the "experts'," news anchors', and WS members' views.

Taking all the information I have gathered into context, IMO, the overall big picture is not complicated nor convoluted. There are holes in public knowledge, obviously, which is to be expected, but I do not feel it is necessary to have to force pieces to fit. I also do not think every word out of SB's mouth is a lie. I think he makes mistakes, corrects them, and would not put himself on the line by lying in regards to things the FBI could turn around and refute him on. Taken at face value, the compilation of facts seem to speak for themselves. JMO.

But I feel nearly alone in this assessment.

You are not alone. Not only has SB walked back/clarified statements let's not forget the NPPD.

JT and the COP bragged they knew where BL was and surprised to find out BL was missing. JT denied Mr L was to search with FBI/NPPD, said would NOT happen and the latest 4million dollar search when BLs parents locates him within an hour.

I'm more inclined to believe SB than JT.
Moo...

This is something I believe. I think SB might have wanted to negotiate info on her location for a plea and have BL turn himself in. A very reasonable way to proceed as many had suggested early on.

I agree if he did admit to killing her, I would think a good attorney would advise him to take that route too.

I see—so even if you told them before they were formally retained, because they are a lawyer. Thanks, this is an area that I have little knowledge of & often defies my assumptions!
I don't think that is correct, but we need a lawyer to weigh in. Banfield explained the privilege pretty well last night on her twitter acct. livestream. jmo

Banfield apparently thinks speech is not protected if the lawyer speaks to 2 different clients at once, or 3 in this case. With possibly competing interests. I'm sure someone can rephrase this in proper legalese.

I get what you are saying, and you make some excellent points.

But I just don't think LE has the resources to pursue these avenues when worse crimes have to be investigated.

I don't mean worse crimes than Gabby's murder. I mean worse crimes than what the Laundries might have done afterward to protect him, just for clarification.
I hear you and though I'll be the first to say the law is an 🤬🤬🤬, the law is still the law.
This was a very high profile case.
SB is out front shouting all sorts, for our entertainment
and in an attempt to save his own 🤬🤬🤬, most likely effectively making a mockery of it all- 'could be Monday, could be Tuesday..'
But it's still the law and it must be respected.
And whereas I wouldn't dream of second guessing the FBI, I'd be surprised if they didn't uphold that attitude in this case.
NNPD have a case too. They couldn't speak with the L family and SB wasn't returning their calls. They were trying to find Gabby. They were met with unco-operation.

Ahh ok yes I very much want to be corrected. I missed the livestream, dang it. Jmo

His whole approach to a case being watched by the world makes no sense at all.
He causes chaos.
Stated he started representing the L's on 11th.
This contradicts an earlier interview where he defends the L's for not taking the P's calls which happened before 11th.
I suspect he's fighting more for himself than his clients.
Any chance SB is throwing the pasta on the wall to see what sticks and kind of “force” a looks ie at the other players hands??? Is he doing this to see what real evidence is out there?
This tactic seems to have worked before. The first claim was BL left for his hike on the 14th and the Ls picked up the mustang from the reserve on the 16th, only after the ticket was dated the 14th and BE showed video of the car on the 15th night, did those original dates change to the 13th and 15th respectively…..MOOOOO

Look at her twitter that's where she talks about it. jmo You don't have to be on twitter to read it and watch stuff, just can't tweet!

WHERE are all Gabbys things?
I would want my DD things from her stay there in Florida. AND the van. Give them to me!

MOO
He could have destroyed them. He was living openly at home from Sept 1 to Sept 11
I doubt all his movements are accounted for from that time period.
I have a feeling they are lost.

I just watched that interview with SB and Ashley Bannfield(?) and I have to say, she is one smart cookie. No wonder SB gets angry, she is quick thinking and actually got more out of SB then he meant to tell. SB keeps making the timeline more questionable, because he has now brought Sunday the 12th.

Yes. Something we haven't even discussed here yet (Sunday) with the exception of a few threads ago when we were looking on the media thread of the Mustang was gone by 6 am Monday.

But I think members determined the Mustang was more likely gone by 6 pm. Someone please correct me if I am not recalling this correctly. MOO

IMO, Joseph and Nicole may in fact be preparing to have to sue for them.

either that, or alternatively LE is interested in them as evidence.

If those belongings are anywhere but in custody as evidence, holding onto them is just jerk behavior. Gabby is dead, kindly give her family her possessions.

Before I sign off on this website I just wanted to say I first tuned in because Gabby was missing and I wanted her found. Then when she was found dead I wanted the responsible party to be found. <modsnip> To be honest I feel sad that both parents lost a child but at the end of the day the person that killed her is dead also, so end of story. Yes things could have been done differently and handled better but it's not going to change things. It's a sad situation all around I just wish both of them could have had a better ending. I will always have a little piece of Gabby in my heart. Even though I didn't know her she was someone that I would have liked to.

I disagree with this (respectfully). It's not the end of the story IMO. There is still an active open investigation. Additionally, if there were other persons who violated any laws in this matter, they must be held to account. No American should want it any other way. We want to live in a society where the rule of law is followed. Whether it is the case or not that anyone was involved in any wrongdoing still remains to be seen. We do not know. But, it must be determined, MOO.

He was saying that he has an ongoing and longstanding attorney-client relationship with the family, thus creating a continuing privilege with respect to their communications about legal issues. He is "on retainer" if you will. Is he right? Idk. But we'll probably never know because I very highly doubt they're going after the Laundries for anything. jmo
You don't have to have a lawyer on retainer for privilege to apply. I can go to 5 free consults with 5 different lawyers, retain none of them and what I say is still privileged.

Also, if I commit a crime today and am arrested and retain a lawyer on Monday, how is she supposed to represent me if I can't even discuss the crime with her since it happened prior to Monday? It's the communication that is privileged, at the time it is conveyed, irrespective of the time the events occurred.

My guess is he absolutely refuted it if he mentions it all. He will be apologizing for putting them through it. I say this because if he actually did go "to" the swamp at a later date after seeing what was happening to them, he did so solely to protect them and his sister. It would be counterintuitive for him to then out his parents after having already committed (emotionally) to removing himself from the equation. This is JMO thinking aloud.
I see it as he took the easy way out for HiM
Him alone.
( listen to Cassie & her husband ..please come back so THIS will end )
No trial.
No facing GP family & friends, public…
No prison time(missing trees & mountains)
Selfish way out
Leaving everyone ELSE holding this ball of horror.

This is a really great post @ctmom. Found Deceased - WY - Gabrielle ‘Gabby’ Petito, 22, Grand Teton National Park, 25 Aug 2021 #77

As stated earlier, I think this is a problem for them. MOO. I do not believe these conditions existed during the entire week and even early into the next week when the search initially began. They had a week to go go look for him and "find him within 2o minutes" back then. But, they didn't. Until we get forensics back with a hopeful time of death range, I still stand by the possibility that Brian was not initially in that Reserve. Rather, he only went to it after the heat on his sister and his parents. There is not reporting that I have found indicating the Reserve was flooded on September 13 -17. MOO

It had started raining around the time of the MP report and was becoming wet and swampy

By September 19th there was visible water but, they were still walking in it just fine. It was not yet "chest-high water". MOO

They had the whole week prior to go look for him. IMO it is possible they didn't do this because they didn't think (or they knew) that he was there at that time. JMO MOO Not fact. If TOD comes back to his departure on 9/13, I think the parents' exposure lessens significantly. MOO
The parents finding of BL could absolutely just be coincidence. But it makes you wonder did they find him that first night and talk to him out there 9/13? Did he have a camp set up there? Did they return to the same spot the next day? Or was he never there until the Friday the FBI came? And what happened on 9/18 further south on the canal? Hopefully this will be clarified in time, I wouldn't expect a TOD in the range of a day to be able to be determined from autopsy though. There could be other evidence on that week that has yet to come to light.

Regardless of what the lawyer said or didn't say, the fact that Brian was found dead in the Park a short distance from where the Mustang was parked and the parents saying they were concerned about his welfare when he left, confirm for me, at least, that Brian was very upset went he left the house and intended to attempt suicide. Which he then did, successfully. As someone else recently posted, this case is pretty straightforward if you leave aside all the speculation. jmo

yes it is pretty straightforward.

I have felt this since the beginning. If only one or two decisions had been made differently, we might have had a case of manslaughter, and all of this hatred, vitrol and speculation would not have been fueled by social media.

All six parents deserve our respect of privacy.

Brian screwed up big time and should have paid the price, but he was not an evil person.

""As an alternative to the heat of passion standard, some jurisdictions apply the standard of extreme emotional disturbance. The Model Penal Code (section 210.3) states that a murder is downgraded to manslaughter when it was "committed under the influence of extreme mental or emotional disturbance for which there is reasonable explanation or excuse." ""
